Barbra Streisand is always watching Drumpf 

When we spoke, she had just tweeted about him and read it aloud:

“All President Trump cares about is winning.

He said it during his campaign, and he says it now.

But what do we all lose as he wins?”

Streisand, no stranger to politics throughout her career, is releasing her first album of original songs since 2005, called Walls, on November 2.

Late last month, she released the album’s first single, “Don’t Lie to Me,” which is a direct address to the president. And on Tuesday, Streisand released the music video – the first she’s ever directed – complete with images of protests and even a sign somewhere in there that says “Stop Kavanaugh.”

“I’m just so concerned with our country and the world,” she said. “When I say in the song ‘we all lose,’ do we lose our integrity as a nation? Do we lose our reputation in the world? One of the songs talks about a beacon of light, and ‘Lady Liberty’ talked about the danger in the sound of silence, when people don’t speak up, when people don’t vote. And now we have a leader who can’t be trusted. The way he pushed Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court to protect himself is unconscionable; we have a leader and now a Supreme Court justice who tells lies.”

She added that it’s the young people of this country who are already living out the message of her new album and who have already set the example of what good activism looks like.

“As I say in the booklet of the new album, I’ve been especially moved by the young people in the United States who have found their voice and are demanding to be heard,” she said.

“They’re more interested in building bridges than walls; they are the very definition of hope.

They’re on my mind, and I dedicate this album to them.”

Parkland shooting survivors talk gun control and conspiracies on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Three survivors of the mass shooting last Wednesday, February 14, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, joined Ellen DeGeneres on Friday. February 23, to continue spreading their advocacy of stricter gun laws.

DeGeneres was joined by Emma González, Cameron Kasky and Jaclyn Corin, all of whom have made major public appearances over the past week, to discuss the conversation that the Parkland tragedy (wherein 17 people were killed) has sparked and what’s being done to keep it going and to turn it into real policy change. “You all are amazing,” the host said to them at the beginning of the segment.

The students touched on a variety of topics, including their widely-watched CNN Town Hall on Wednesday evening in which, among other highlights, Kasky confronted Senator Marco Rubio and asked him directly whether he’d continue accepting money from the National Rifle Association.

As DeGeneres continued to praise the students’ efforts, González clarified that it was her school that gave her the tools to make sense of and respond to the tragedy.

“We are thankful to have been in a school that educated us almost perfectly to handle this situation,” she said.

Kasky added that he’s felt some guilt for what it took to spur him to activism.

“I wish I had been able to be a part of this before I had to feel it at home,” he said. “I almost feel guilty … It took us feeling that anguish for us to get involved, but we’re here now. But we just have to keep going and realize that we’re here to fight the good fight.”

He later quipped, in regard to the conspiracy theorists accusing students like González and Kasky of being paid actors on behalf of anti-gun efforts, “If you’ve seen me act in school productions, you know I’m not somebody who deserves any money for acting.”

Michael Moore was in for a surprise during the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday when Ashley Judd interrupted him to read a politically charged poem

“I am Ashley Judd,” she declared as Moore reacted in shock, “and I am a feminist.”

She proceeded to recite a poem written by a 19-year-old named Nina Donovan from Tennessee. The contents of the writing included references to Trump’s election, mass incarceration, LGBT rights, the wage gap, and more relevant issues.

At one point, the poem compares Trump to Adolf Hitler.

The poem repeated the refrain “I am not as nasty as…”

at one point attacking Trump’s relationship with his daughter, Ivanka.

“I’m not as nasty as your daughter being your favorite sex symbol,” Judd said.

Battle: Who’s Fighting and Why

This week, an impassioned fight over a 1,170-mile oil pipeline moved from the prairies of North Dakota to a federal courtroom in Washington. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe, whose reservation lies just south of the pipeline’s charted path across ranches and under the Missouri River, has asked a judge to halt construction.

The American Indian tribe argues that a leak or spill could be ruinous

It may take until Sept. 9 for a federal judge to decide whether to allow the Dakota Access pipeline to move ahead, or grant an injunction that would press the pause button on construction.

What is happening in North Dakota?
American Indians have been gathering since April outside Cannon Ball, a town in south central North Dakota near the South Dakota border, to protest the Dakota Access pipeline as construction commences. Starting with members of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, the protest has since grown to several hundred people — estimates vary — most of them from tribes across the country.

What does each side want?
The Dakota Access Pipeline is a $3.7 billion project that would carry 470,000 barrels of oil a day from the oil fields of western North Dakota to Illinois, where it would be linked with other pipelines. Energy Transfer says the pipeline will pump millions of dollars into local economies and create 8,000 to 12,000 construction jobs — though far fewer permanent jobs to maintain and monitor the pipeline.

Members of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe see the pipeline as a major environmental and cultural threat. They say its route traverses ancestral lands — which are not part of the reservation — where their forebears hunted, fished and were buried.

They say historical and cultural reviews of the land where the pipeline will be buried were inadequate. They also worry about catastrophic environmental damage if the pipeline were to break near where it crosses under the Missouri River.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to get … like life, it’s a box of chocolate thing.

Yet, as the young man mentions, please listen until the end.

I have been researching to find out more about this group of young adults.

I’ve only found out the sources I’ve listed below.

I’m not sure still what kind of organization they are.
There’s a quick moment when the name “Sanders” flashes through the screen.

My intention isn’t to promote Mr. Sanders.

My intention is to share the message.

The message in their video resonates so well with what is going on in this country, at this moment in time, during this political cycle.

I saw this video in my feed and decided to watch it.

I couldn’t agree more!

I mean the corporations are making a killing … literally because they finance the wars too!

And people are in need of a big change so they hear Trump and his brash ways and they blindly follow him.

His rallies are in some cases very volatile and fighting one another isn’t going to get us anywhere.

We need to stand united and demand change from the handlers.

And fighting a war with someone we are told is our enemy is also counterproductive to our goal of Peace on Earth!
