CAN ADELE’S HELLO BE ANY BETTER?

I knew there was a reason why I love this song!

Now I enjoy it even more!

Social action organization Global Citizen somehow just made Adele’s hit song “Hello” even better
In a new video published this February, Global Citizen re-imagines Adele’s “Hello” as a call to Congress to protest President Drumpf’s executive orders. The video features an Adele look-a-like wearing a fur coat belting out tunes with the wind in her hair, singing into a phone … the lyrics are just a bit different.

“Hello, it’s me. I was wondering if you had some time to support refugees,” the woman sings into a flip phone.

“We can go over everything. Like how they aren’t terrorists, they’re only frightened folks in need.”

The chorus is possibly the best part

“Hello from the other side! If I have to, I’ll call a thousand times! Til you listen to us, we’ll never leave you alone. But when I call Paul Ryan, he never seems to be home.”

At the end of the day … “Adele’s ‘Hello’…. Meets Mozart’s Lacrimosa”!!

STUNNING

Cello, it’s me.

I was wondering if after all these centuries you’d like to meet.

When Adele’s ‘Hello’ Meets Mozart’s Lacrimosa

The Piano Guys

The meeting of Adele‘s “Hello” and Mozart‘s “Lacrimosa” is actually quite gorgeous. Made up of 100 acoustic and electric cellos, it is “a musical experiment bridging 18th century spiritualism and 21st century secularism,” though the two pieces might have more in common than you think.

Coming to us from The Piano Guys, the song has no pianos in it, but it does have an arrangement by Al van der Beek and Steven Sharp Nelson (that’s Nelson on those cellos). They affectionately refer to their hybrid song as “Chello” or “Hellocrimosa.”

You might not recognize “Lacrimosa” by name, but you have most certainly heard it before.

~~Adele’s Hello Meets Mozart’s Lacrimosa~~

~~Published on Jan 28, 2016~~

Story behind the song

Imagine Mozart and Adele in the same room in an intense co-write session, quill and pen in hand, respectively. Picturing this hypothetical hangout helped to spark the creative combination of the two.

Haven’t heard “Lacrimosa” from Mozart’s Requiem? It is a powerful piece of music. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhYCa…

As you can hear, both tunes’ divergent traits presented challenges. One wallows in a wide, painstakingly minor 12/8 time and the other drives a poignant bi-polar major/minor common time. One draws its power from the fullness of a grand chorus and orchestra, the other from the isolation of a lone voice and piano. One conforms to age-old counterpart canon and musical theory, while the other is conveyed via verse/chorus pop song parlance. However, they share the same fundamental feeling — “Lacrimosa” (meaning “weeping” or “tearful”) mournfully bemoans spiritual death, while “Hello” gripes about relationship regrets. Different centuries. Different realms. Same emotion. Perhaps we aren’t as far from our predecessors as we think we are.

You’ll hear towards the end of the tune an attempt by both motifs to meet in the middle as the two textured melodies intertwine. In their respective stories both plead for reconciliation. Neither seemed to find it apart, but together they sing of a second chance.

The sounds you hear were created by 100 tracks of acoustic and electric cello, an instrument that has been emoting for centuries – an apt candidate for the task of tying together “Hellocrimosa” (our alternate affectionate title).

This video was filmed at one of our favorite locations: Tuacahn Amphitheatre, utilizing different patterns and settings of giant mirrors, diffused light, and some very cold fog. How is the camera not reflected in the mirrors?

Simple. Magic!

To start the day …. “Karen Rodriguez: “Hello” Spanglish Version”!!

~~December 8, 2015~~

SPANGLISH VERSION

You may say that I’m “obsessed” (and you may be correct).

I’m in love.

I love Adele’s new album “25”.

Hello” is very special to me because my significant other told me that this song could describe part of our past.

An to top it all, here’s a version part in Spanish.

(We call it “Spanglish”).

Karen Rodriguez does a great job in the translated lyrics. I wonder how the complete song would sound in Spanish.

I hope you enjoy this version.

Karen Rodriguez is out to smash all the pop chart toppers.

After killing you softly with her Spanglish cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” the American Idol alum is back with another bilingual twist, giving Adele a run for her money with a raw and powerful rendition of “Hello.”

“I connected deeply with ‘Hello’ and after seeing how well it was received, I knew people would enjoy hearing it in a new way,” said Karen to VIBE Viva.

“I decided to give it a twist and write my own lyrical adaptation in Spanish, opting out of a literal translation. I wanted to express what the song made me feel, and I also wanted to stay as true to the melody and to Adele’s flow in the original.

But I am a bilingual artist, I love singing and writing music in both languages, and I hope this cover serves as a platform where I can gain more fans who genuinely love and appreciate the work I do!”

OUTSTANDING COVER

Adele’s “Hello”

Before going into the actual post, I must confess that I have totally fallen in love with Adele’s new musical project.

I have been listening to her new CD “25” and must say that I’m totally taken by it.

I know I’m not the only one because everything seems to be Adele nowadays. She was on a visit to New York City and hit all the major talk and late night shows. She appeared on Jimmy Fallon and was hilarious.

She also filmed a TV special for NBS which will air December 14 at 10 PM. One show that I will surely record and watch at my leisure.

Ellen DeGeneres made a parody of her “Hello” which was quite entertaining. Heather Rooney, an incredible illustrator, painted a colored pencil picture of Adele.

I found this video, a rendition of Adele’s “Hello” by the Southern University Marching Band and the Dancing Dolls.

Amazing! Hope you enjoy!

Southern University Marching Band’s Outstanding Cover

By COLLEEN ANNEK

December 3, 2015

Southern University, “of Baton Rouge, not New Orleans: this distinction is incredibly important” as noted by USA Today, takes on Grambling State in the Bayou Classic every year, this year having been the 42nd face-off between the teams, according to the Bayou Classic’s website.

Southern University competed in the Bayou Classic Battle of the Bands on November 27, 2015, and they came to impress. With a stacked horns section, the band covered Adele’s chart-topping single ‘Hello’ with unparalleled power as the Dancing Dolls accompanied the band from the field.

Record-breaking ‘Hello,’ which is currently one of the most popular songs in the country (it has been at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 list for five weeks now) was the perfect card for Southern University’s marching band to play.

While Adele’s power-ballad might not be the first thing you think of when considering marching band music, the orchestration of the original track leaves plenty of room for the song to be adapted to a full marching band arrangement. The resulting harmonies are out of this world — just make sure you don’t have the volume turned up too high, these horn players mean serious business.
