The Forgotten Puerto Rico …. “😥 El Puerto Rico Olvidado …. Things are NOT on way back to NORMAL 😥 …. “!!

THE FORGOTTEN PUERTO RICO

I’ve been keeping tabs on the ‘official death toll’ in Puerto Rico.

During Drumpf’s shameful visit to the Island, the ‘certified number’ was 17.

Keep in mind, most of the recovery activity is centered in the metro area.

The mountain towns are forgotten.

Puerto Rico is mostly mountainous with large coastal areas in the north and south. The main mountain range is called “La Cordillera Central” (The Central Range).

The highest elevation in Puerto Rico, Cerro de Punta. 1,339 meters (4,393 ft), is located in this range.

GOVERNORSHIP 2016

Lúgaro is running as an independent candidate

BRINGING A RAY OF HOPE TO MY COUNTRY

I heard about this incredible woman through a family member.

I started following her Facebook page and had the opportunity to meet her in person and to hear her speak.

Until that moment, I had high reservations about the future of Puerto Rico, my country.

This young woman gave me hope again.

There’s a possibility that things can turn for the better and the mess that is Puerto Rico now could be reversed.

There’s hope.

I found this musical video in the pages of her followers and fans.

Quite the anthem!!

It’s in Spanish but the words ring true.

The element of youth, Puerto Rican music and rhythm are all there.

My vote would be for Alexandra!!

Alexandra Lúgaro was born on June 10, 1981 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the High School of the University of Puerto Rico at the age of 15 and was admitted to its Río Piedras Campus where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with triple concentration in Finance, Marketing and Economics and subsequently her Juris Doctor.

In 2014, she obtained her Masters of Laws (LL.M.) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she is currently finishing her Doctorate in Financial and Taxation Law.

She comes to work without any ties to individuals or entities and without fear of making the decisions that are necessary to improve Puerto Rico’s social and economic panorama. Decisions she will base on scientific research and planning to implement strategies in what she esteems must be the two priority areas to be worked with: Economy and Education.

Lúgaro is aware that running as an independent candidate is a huge challenge, but as a Puerto Rican and as a mother, she knows very well the kind of country where she wants her daughter to be educated and live in. She is convinced that we have the human and fiscal resources to get up, what we have to do is administer them correctly and that precisely, is her greatest area of expertise.

PUERTO RICO STANDS UP

THE ABUSE IS OVER

Alexandra Lúgaro was born on June 10, 1981 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the High School of the University of Puerto Rico at the age of 15 and was admitted to its Río Piedras Campus where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with triple concentration in Finance, Marketing and Economics and subsequently her Juris Doctor.

In 2014, she obtained her Masters of Laws (LL.M.) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she is currently finishing her Doctorate in Financial and Taxation Law.

During the last decade she has served as Executive Director of corporations America Aponte and Associates and The Metropolitan New School of America, where she has drafted competitive proposals for federal and state funds with which to implement innovative science-based educational initiatives in Puerto Rico. For the last 15 years, she has successfully directed dozens of educational projects and millionaire budgets, improving student academic achievement in over 500 schools in Puerto Rico.

On the other hand, through her private practice as a lawyer, she has provided legal assistance to those who are unfamiliar with the judicial system and can’t afford adequate legal representation.

Faced with the notable deterioration in the social, economic and educational frameworks of the island, Alexandra Lúgaro has decided to do something on the matter; she will aspire to the governorship of Puerto Rico as an independent candidate in the next general election.

Lúgaro, has evaluated the budgets of the main agencies, studied the complex current situation, what countries with resources similar to Puerto Rico’s have done to improve, all with the purpose of developing a serious and coherent Government platform. She has met with experts of all the ideologies and disciplines, people committed to the country that have provided her with their knowledge and experience.

ALEXANDRA LUGARO …. TELLS IT LIKE IT IS

I recently learned about this young Puerto Rican woman.

It seems that she has major plans and excellent ideas for Puerto Rico.

To anyone who is interested in the historical facts of Puerto Rico’s past which have lead to its current present situation, I urge you to listen to her.

It’s a matter of history.

It’s a matter of having the correct facts.

Many don’t know where Puerto Rico is located. Many don’t even know why Puerto Rico has this huge debt crisis, poverty level and so many other problems.

You will find some answers in her message.

Please, take a look.

Thank you.

Puerto Rico’s Alexandra Lúgaro, First Independent Candidate for Governor

Alexandra Lúgaro wants to change things in Puerto Rico and break free from the shackles of a dysfunctional two-party system that has brought the island to its knees.

Lúgaro, a 33-year-old attorney and businesswoman, is running as the first independent for governor of Puerto Rico. The candidate’s lack of party affiliation places her outside the political circles, but she aims to inject new life, hopes, and ideas into the territory’s government.

Born into a family that struggled economically, Lúgaro credits education for her success, saying it offered her the tools to improve herself. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Puerto Rico and later a Juris Doctor at the same school. She then earned a Master’s in Laws, LLM from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is currently finishing her Doctorate in Tax Reform at the same.

~Message from Puerto Rico to the U.S. Government~

~Published on Oct 14, 2015~

Currently, Puerto Rico is going through the worst fiscal crisis in its history. We owe 73 billion dollars to our lenders and we are not generating enough revenue to pay them back, while continuing to provide public services to our people.

To this day, the United States controls all of Puerto Rico’s foreign relations, customs, immigration, postal system, communications, radio, television, commerce, transportation, social security, military service, maritime laws, banks, currency, judiciary, tariffs, trade relations, shipping industry and cabotage rights, yet shockingly they continue to avoid their responsibility over Puerto Rico’s fiscal crisis.

We know where we have failed, but we are willing to make it right.

We’re just requesting the same from the U.S. Government:

1. Derogate the Jones Act to allow non-American ships to carry goods between Puerto Rico and the U.S. mainland in order to lower Puerto Rico’s shipping costs and give us a real chance of competing in the world economy.

2. Enact for Puerto Rico a Visa Waiver Program similar to the one extended to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, in order for us to be able to attract visitors, doctors and students from Central and South America, jump starting our tourism industry and being able to compete with neighboring islands.

3. Take an active role in solving our financial crisis, working with our government to define a strategy that will help us meet our responsibility with bond holders and develop a healthy and sustainable economy.

President Barack Obama and Members of Congress:

We’re not asking you for money or for pity, we’re just asking you to assume your responsibility and help us get back on our feet.
