Sculpture Coralarium Where Land, Sea and Art collide Fairmont Hotel, Sirru Fen Fushi, Maldives The Sculpture Coralarium is situated in the centre of the largest developed coral lagoon in the Maldives, on the island resort of Fairmont Sirru Fen Fushi.

The artwork by Jason deCaires Taylor is a semi-submerged tidal gallery space that exhibits a series of sculptural artworks on the skyline, inter-tidal waterline and seabed. As world’s first semi submerged tidal Art Gallery it is cube shaped, six metres tall, with its front façade submerged up to median tide of three metres.

The design of the walls is based on natural coral structures and is porous to allow the tides, current and marine life to pass through and the structure to “breathe” within its location.

Born in 1974 to an English father and Guyanese mother, Taylor grew up in Europe and Asia, where he spent much of his early childhood exploring the coral reefs of Malaysia. Educated in the South East of England, Taylor graduated from the London Institute of Arts in 1998 with a BA Honors in Sculpture and went on to become a fully qualified diving instructor and underwater naturalist.

With over 18 years diving experience under his belt, Taylor is also an award winning underwater photographer, famous for his dramatic images, which capture the metamorphosing effects of the ocean on his evolving sculptures.

Hello!

My name is Heather Rooney.

I am an illustrator specializing in photo-realistic colored pencil and graphite drawings. Since finding my passion for portrait and figure drawing in high school, I have developed a technique focusing on high attention to detail.

I draw my inspiration from a broad range of cultural figures, such as sport athletes, media personalities, and entertainment professionals.

With each illustration requiring many hours of work, ranging from 30 hours to 100+ hours, I share my process through time-lapse videos on my YouTube channel, which has generated over 60 million views from a global audience.

ADELE NAILED “WHEN WE WERE YOUNG” 

Whenever I need a bit of a pick up to get started and going, I play Adele and she’s the push I need.

This is one of my favorites songs in her “25” album.

This country is so immersed in politics and all that kind of crap that any soul will feel the negative pull and negative vibes.

Here’s my “picker upper”.

Flawless performance of When We Were Young

Adele performed her hit ballad When We Were Young without a hitch.

The British songbird marked her epic comeback with a flawless performance, closing out the biggest night in British music.

Adele, who was the night’s biggest winner, received a rapturous applause for the beautiful song which brought the audience to their feet.

Wearing a star-embellished red dress, Adele’s voice carried throughout the arena – while telling fans who were lucky enough to be at the front of the stage “you lot remind me of when I was young!” mid-way through the song.

KELLER WILLIAMS

Keller Williams (born February 4, 1969) is an American musician who began performing in the early 1990’s. He is also known by the name K-Dub when performing. Williams’ music combines elements of bluegrass, folk, alternative rock, reggae, electronica/dance, jazz, funk, and other assorted genres.

He is often described as a ‘one-man jam-band‘ due to his frequent use of live phrase looping with multiple instruments.

Though primarily a solo artist, Williams has toured with several bands that include Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Yonder Mountain String Band, The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee and Ratdog, and has frequently performed at The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, the AllGood Music Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, the The Rothbury Festival, the Elysian Fields Music Festival, and Jam Cruise.

Williams has an audio taping policy of his performances, and for non-commercial trading of the recordings, but use of video or flash photography, or any recordings for profit are prohibited.

Many of those who stop by “It Is What It Is” may know that I am an ardent fan of The Piano Guys.

I learned about them through a dear friend who asked: Have you seen The Piano Guys’ videos?

I hadn’t. Who are they? Susan knows I play the piano and how much music means to me. She introduced me to them as we watched “Michael Meets Mozart”, then “Peponi”, then “Beautiful” … I was hooked!

Since then I’ve started following them. I’ve bought their CD’s and I was able to see them live in concert in Melbourne, Florida.

An unforgettable experience. They are really down to earth. They called themselves “nerds”. To me, the most important things are that they have an incredible sense of humor and an amazing talent.

I really enjoy The Piano Guys.
