Just after midnight on Sunday night, August 26, the flag flying above the White House was hoisted back to full staff.
Earlier Monday, the White House flag had returned to its regular position even as other flags around Washington – including at the US Capitol – remained in the half-staff mourning position. But on Monday afternoon, August 27, the White House once again lowered the flag to half-staff and Trump, in his statement said he “signed a proclamation to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff until the day of his interment.”
Drumpf has been mocked for forgetting the colors of the American flag during a visit to a children’s hospital this weekend.
In pictures posted by Mr. Azar on Twitter, Drumpf fills in one of the stripes on the star-spangled banner with a blue felt-tip pen.
Amnesty International awarded Colin Kaepernick its Ambassador of Conscience Award on Saturday, April 21, 2018, for his public protest against racial and social injustice.
“The Ambassador of Conscience award celebrates the spirit of activism and exceptional courage, as embodied by Colin Kaepernick,” Salil Shetty, the human rights group’s secretary-general, said in a statement.
“He is an athlete who is now widely recognized for his activism because of his refusal to ignore or accept racial discrimination.”
The award is Amnesty International’s highest honor, according to its website.
Past winners include Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai, U2, Alicia Keys and Ai Weiwei.
Kaepernick was presented with the award at a ceremony in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, became the subject of controversy when he kneeled during the national anthem before several 2016 NFL preseason and regular-season games in protest of police shootings of African-American men and other social injustices faced by black people in the United States.

Colin Kaepernick, an American football player who in 2016 started kneeling during the national anthem played before matches in protest against police brutality against African Americans, has been awarded the rights group Amnesty International’s top honour.
The former San Francisco 49ers star was handed the Ambassador of Conscience Award at a ceremony on Saturday in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, by one time teammate Eric Reid.
Amnesty says the award recognizes “an inspiring contribution to helping human rights”.
P!nk took the grand stage at Super Bowl LII to sing the national anthem just before kickoff where she paid homage to her “idol,” Whitney Houston.
This Super Bowl holds a special significance to the Grammy-winning artist as she is a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan, having spent the lead-up to the game posting snaps of her children and family rooting for the team.

Despite a well-publicized battle with the flu in the days before Super Bowl LII, Philadelphia-area native Pink positively nailed the National Anthem.
Clad in a satiny white outfit and with bright blonde hair, the three-time Grammy winner was true to her badass image, removing a throat lozenge just before she began singing (and setting off a torrest of Internet memes in the process).
She played loose with the song’s timing, occasionally hitting a note just inside the tempo set by the accompanying orchestra, but hit every note with ease, at times breaking up a note or toying with the phrasing, possibly in an effort to sidestep the challenges of singing with the flu, but her voice was strong and on-point and she had little trouble holding notes.
I’ve truly never been a fan of rap music and Eminem hasn’t been one of my favorite performers. This time, IMHO, he’s plainly stated what many of Americans are feeling. It takes an artist to have the gall and balls to call out the ‘moronic idiot‘ who is leading the country.
Sure beats out the hell of a job those surrounding and enabling HIM to take this nation to the gutter, the spot it currently occupies, except in the minds of the IDIOTS who still support HIM.

Thus far this week we’ve seen everyone from a Republican Senator to foreign leaders call out Drumpf for his, well, bullshit. But now one of the most devastating take-downs of Drumpf is coming from rapper Eminem – and it’s a moment you’ll want to pay attention to whether or not you’re a fan of Eminem or hip hop, because it nails Drumpf with a stunning level of detailed accuracy.
Eminem appears in a four minute video which first aired at the BET Awards on October 10, but has since been posted online. He starts off by quoting Drumpf’s “calm before the storm” line, but then proceeds to launch into his own blistering critique:

Today, I feel his anger. Today I totally get Eminem. Today I thank him. His anger and indignation expressed my own. Today his facial expression has been my own since the 2016 presidential campaign began.

I don’t know anything about football. It really doesn’t impress me much.
There’s a bunch of tough guys, placing hands up a player’s behind, shouting numbers, running into each other ending up on a heap of male muscle, increased testosterone and frequent stops.

By now, all fans and non-fans know about Pence’s costly, fake trip to Indiana. The cost of this charade has been calculated.
It seems like we’ll never know exactly how much it cost taxpayers to have Mike Pence abruptly leave a football game Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers.
But conservative estimates say it was at least $200,000 – and that’s for the air travel alone.
CNN did a back-of-the-envelope calculation and figured the flight from Las Vegas (where Pence attended a memorial service for the victims of the mass shooting) to Indianapolis and then to Los Angeles for a previously scheduled political event cost at least $242,500. The cost of a flight straight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles would have been around $45,000.

I heard him say last night that they were doing an ‘amazing job‘ in the rescue efforts for the 3,411,000 American citizens who live in Puerto Rico.

Charlottesville Was Not a “Protest Turned Violent”

When anybody, especially the ‘so-called president’, talks about what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend, from the Citronella Putsch on Friday night, August 11, to the violence on Saturday morning, to the graphic fulfillment of the philosophy behind these lunatic laws on Saturday afternoon, tells you that what happened in Virginia has anything to do with “polarization,” or that it is a problem equally shared by Both Sides, that person is trying preemptively to pick history’s pockets.
On June 12, 2016, a 29-year-old security guard, killed 49 people and wounded 58 others in a terrorist attack/hate crime inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States.
Pulse was hosting a “Latin Night” and thus most of the victims were Latinos. It was both the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter and the deadliest incident of violence against LGBT people in United States history.
It was also the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since the September 11 attacks in 2001.
