In a Heartbeat tells the heartwarming story of Sherwin, a closeted middle school student, whose heart literally pops out of his chest to chase the boy of his dreams.

The long-awaited short film has been receiving loads of attention even before its release earlier July 31, 2017.

Creators Beth David and Esteban Bravo launched a Kickstarter last year for $3,000 to produce the film and were shocked when they went $11,000 over their goal. And it's easy to see why! Beautifully animated and scored, In a Heartbeat tugs at all the right heartstrings.

It was incredibly important for Beth and Esteban to tell a gay love story.

"Being gay is a subject that hasn't been wildly explored in computer animation," they explained in their Kickstarter video.

"We want to put out a message of love and self-acceptance to all the kids and young people who struggle to identify with LGBT+, just like Sherwin does."

The heart wants what it wants.

LILY AND THE SNOWMAN

Hi there!! We are back!! Let’s resume slowly!!

We’ve seen some posts already about Christmas being over.

That’s the case in America.

In my country, Puerto Rico, the partying continues.

All of us are looking forward to Three Kings Day, January 6.

The tradition is that The Three Wise Men arrived to the manger and brought presents to honor Baby Jesus’s birth.

Kids from my country collect grass from their yards, put it in a box and place it under the beds.

When the Magi arrive, their camels are hungry.

They eat the grass and the presents are left behind.

A tradition which I’m trying to teach our four grandchildren.

One which they enjoy because they receive more gifts, of course!

We are posting this cute animated short today to still keep a bit of the spirit of Christmas going.

STELLAR MOVES

Stellar Moves is an animated short film produced at Ringling College by the creative team of Millivette Gonzalez, Tabia Lees, and Valerie Sattazahn.

It tells the story of Pluto, an uncoordinated plutoid who loves to dance, and his quest to become a member of his favorite dance crew, The Planets.

The hottest dance group in the universe, The Planets, has eight members but they might begrudgingly allow another entry in to the team if they can be suitably impressed. A competition is held to find the missing planet so that eight might become nine. At home, young Pluto does not think he has what it takes, but receives encouragement from his best friend, one of his satellites you might say!

This will have you rooting for the little guy of the solar system all over again.

Stellar Moves is – and you may not believe this such is the high standard of animation – their senior thesis short film. It was produced at Ringling College of Art and Design (if you want to study computer animation in the USA, then this is always in the top three places to go).

No doubt they will be inviting the trio back to give talks to their undergraduates in a few years.

THE GARDEN OF EDEN

The Garden of Eden is described in Genesis, Chapters 2 and 3. The Lord created the Garden specifically for Adam, the first man, whom God had formed.

In Genesis 2:8-9, we read:

“The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.”

Some believe the Garden was atop a mountain, or perhaps it was an outlet for freshwater springs, because we read, “a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four river heads” (Genesis 2:10).

“Luna”

A story about the power of attraction and unrequited love and that love has the power to transform one to become better.

“Luna” was produced by #Rainmaker-Entertainment and released in August, 2011 and the animation on this short is absolutely stunning.

 This has to be one of the best short animation of this year. It’s sheer genius to make it black-and-white at so much more depth and really set up the tone of the short film. Fantastic piece of work the story-line is both engaging and original animators have done a super job.

Where Babies Come From

The storks delivering babies are feverishly at work. The babies are made by the clouds. They are enveloped in a bag made of fluffy cloud material. Each stork has an assigned cloud.

There’s one cloud in particular who is very happy with her job but she creates the babies that may be a bit troublesome for the carrier stork.

The stork assigned to this “gray” cloud has had a few close calls.

Still the stork carries on.

She does the best she can and comes up with an idea for self-protection.

Partly Cloudy is a Pixar CGI animated short film written and directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Kevin Reher. It was shown in theaters before Pixar’s feature film Up and is a special feature on its DVD and Blu-ray release.

PLOT

All day long, cheerful clouds in the sky make cute and cuddly babies, such as human boys and girls, kittens, puppies, and other creatures, and give them to storks for delivery to the expectant parents.

However, one lonely gray cloud named Gus has the task of creating animals that are cute but not so cuddly.

His delivery stork, Peck, gets the worst of it, being bitten by a crocodile, butted by a bighorn sheep, and pricked by a porcupine.

When Peck sees that his next delivery is a baby shark, he grows more than a little fearful and flies away.

Feeling rejected, despondent, and angry, Gus unleashes a brief thunderstorm, then starts crying with rain pouring from below him. Peck, however, soon returns with a football helmet and shoulder pads, created for him by another cloud to keep him safe (alluded to in an earlier scene, where the same cloud creates a baby that would grow to love football).

Gus instantly cheers up and gives Peck an electric eel to deliver, which shocks him despite the protective equipment; this time, though, Peck remains in good (but slightly frazzled) spirits.
