Alex Boye and Lindsay Stirling have joined to present a beautiful rendition of Bruno Mars’s song “Grenade” together with the Salt Lake City Pops.
Alex Boyé (born 1970) is a British-born Mormon singer and actor of Nigerian descent.
Boyé first performed in public while serving as a missionary for the LDS Church in Bristol, England. After completing his mission, he became a backing dancer. Among those who he performed with in this role was George Michael.
Boyé was featured in a video by The Piano Guys, released in January 2012 as Peponi, a cover of Coldplay’s Paradise on YouTube. In early 2013 he did a cover of the Lumineers “Ho Hey” that also generated a large number of YouTube hits.
Lindsey Stirling (born September 21, 1986) is an American violinist, dancer, performance artist, and composer. She presents choreographed violin performances, both live and in music videos found on her YouTubechannel, Lindseystomp, which she introduced in 2007. In 2010, Stirling was a quarter-finalist on America’s Got Talent season five.
Stirling is also a YouTube sensation: her music video “Crystallize” finished as the eighth-most watched video of 2012, and her cover version of “Radioactive” with Pentatonix won Response of the Year in the first YouTube Music Awards in 2013.
Lindsey has also sold more than 1 million singles worldwide and on May 2014 her second studio album Shatter Me peaked #2 at the Billboard 200. Her YouTube channel had, as of September 2014, more than 5.3 million subscribers and 735 million total views.
