Stephen William Hawking, CH CBE FRS FRSA, (8 January 1942 – 14 March 2018), was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge.

His scientific works included a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation.

Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.

He was a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

The physicist, who died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at age 76, wasn’t expected to see his 25th birthday, after being diagnosed with the incurable neurodegenerative condition ALS at age 21.

Though Hawking beat the odds for more than five decades, the scientist told the Guardian in 2011 that death was never far from his mind.

~Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis~

ALS is a group of rare neurological diseases that mainly involve the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. Voluntary muscles produce movements like chewing, walking, and talking. The disease is progressive, meaning the symptoms get worse over time.

Currently, there is no cure for ALS and no effective treatment to halt, or reverse, the progression of the disease.

MY PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE

I retired from my full time job as a physician with the Veterans Administration in February 2013.

I knew I was going to have plenty of time on my hands and wanted to find something to do.

It was almost by chance that I started blogging.

With the help of a very dear friend, Ra-Mazing, this platform was set up.

This is part of what my ‘about‘ says on this blog:

“I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone “out there” who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is “eclectic” – a bit of everything.

Music and reading are my passion.

Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I’m interested in news – reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse – the “wrongly” affected.

My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need.”

My intentions are truly to share any knowledge I have with anyone who is willing to listen.

However, it seems to me, that almost all I post about now is related to this ‘man‘ who has been chosen by Russia to be the in-coming president of the country I live in.

You may not believe me but, even though it looks different, I’m tired of his antics.

I don’t want to focus only on him.

However, the lighthearted part of me seems to have taken a back seat in view of the seriousness of what we face.

Plenty of times I wonder why I stay on this track.

I received an answer today!

A dear friend, from across the oceans, sent me this message today, and with his permission, I’m sharing this with you!

Just thought I’d let you know that you are in my thoughts and that I’m proud of how you have registered your disgust and displeasure at the imminent installation of Fuckface von Clownstick as leader of the (currently) free world.
I really feel for you and your fellow sane Americans and I’m glad there are so many of you with principles and a conscience; it’s people like you who are the true hope for the future.

Know that you have my undying admiration, for your staunch defense of your country in the face of such ignorance and hate and I’m very glad to call you my friend.

Stay strong and continue to resist the odious rhetoric of Orange Donnie and his cronies and be sure that you will always have support from those of us who value love and compassion above stupidity and jingoism.

We ALL are ONE!! 

I am a firm believer in this. We all are connected to one another. We come from the same source. We all are the same.

There should be no differences. Our human bodies are anatomically the same. We all have the same organs, located in the same positions. We all have the same DNA code. We all bleed red. We all go through the same processes. We are born, we grow up and mature and we all die.

The biological and physical processes that we experience are all the same. Our metabolism is exactly the same.

We all are one!! 

We all go through the same circle of life.
