Imagine a flower in the morning. The flower is not yet open. The sunshine embraces the flower, and the energy of the sunshine begins to penetrate the flower.
The sun doesn’t just go around the flower. The light naturally penetrates the flower, and an hour later the flower has to open itself to the sun.
The sun is our mindfulness, embracing the flower of our feelings.
There are only a few hours left before a new year is ushered in.
It always amazes me how fast time flies when we are all grown up.
All of us at “It Is What It Is” want to wish you and yours only the best for this coming year.
We thank you, from the deepest recesses of our heart, for stopping by and interacting with us. Each and every comment is appreciated, valued and acted upon, if needed.
We are here, open to your visits and suggestions, willing to offer the best of ourselves and truly hoping that what we do may make even the smallest “dent’ in your lives.
May only good fortune and good tidings come your way.
Looking back on the months gone by,
As a new year starts and an old one ends,
We contemplate what brought us joy,
And we think of our loved ones and our friends.
Recalling all the happy times,
Remembering how they enriched our lives,
We reflect upon who really counts,
As the fresh and bright new year arrives.
And when we ponder those who do,
we immediately think of you.
Thanks for being one of the reasons we’ll have a Happy New Year!

From ancient times, people have used the owl as a symbol of wisdom. The very serious look on the owl’s face might have given people the idea that the owl was wise. It has large, bright, wide-awake eyes that point forward. Its long lashes and upper eyelids close over its eyes.
The owl has been called a wise bird for the same reason that some men are thought to be wise — he looks wise.
A dear blogger friend taught me about this concept.
“IOTD” is image of the day, a concept I came up with. I teach visual meditative therapy – or in easy terms – a mini mental holiday. For some people it is very difficult for them to get their image right. I post an image a day for people to use in their mini mental vacay. Some are serious, some are silly, and some are just beautiful!”
Barbra Streisand Duets with Son Jason Gould on New PARTNERS Album
Behind the Scenes
Jason Emanuel Gould (born December 29, 1966) is an American actor, director, producer, writer and singer.
He was born in New York City, the son of singer and actress Barbra Streisand and actor Elliott Gould, who divorced July 9, 1971. He spent his formative years around major Hollywood players in Los Angeles, California.
In Barbra’s own words:
“I would never wish for my son to be anything but what he is. He is bright, kind, sensitive, caring, and a very conscientious and good person. He is a very gifted actor and filmmaker. What more could a parent ask for in their child? I have been truly blessed. Most parents feel that their child is particularly special, and I am no different. I have a wonderful son. My only wish for my son, Jason, is that he continues to experience a rich life of love, happiness, joy, and fulfillment, both creatively and personally.”

Partners is the thirty-fourth studio album by Barbra Streisand, released in September 2014. The album features Streisand singing duets with an all-male lineup including John Legend, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Billy Joel,Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and Elvis Presley. The collection also features Streisand’s first studio-recorded duet with her son, Jason Gould. The album release was promoted on The Tonight Show, where Streisand was the evening’s sole guest and sang a medley with host Jimmy Fallon.
While the recordings are new, most of the songs have a previous history as Streisand releases. Two classic Streisand duets are updated with new partners: “What Kind of Fool”, newly performed with John Legend (originally with Barry Gibb) and “Lost Inside of You”, newly performed with Babyface (originally with Kris Kristofferson). The deluxe edition features recordings from her 2002 Duets compilation with Frank Sinatra, Bryan Adams, Barry Manilow, and Barry Gibb.
