This always happens.

Fox News host Martha MacCallum breathlessly hyped that Drumpf was going to “pivot” toward a more presidential tone, the same day that Drumpf himself said,

“I am who I am … I don’t want to pivot.”

Drumpf told a Wisconsin television station on August 16,

“I am who I am. It’s me. I don’t want to change. Everyone talks about, ‘Oh, well you’re going to pivot.’ I don’t want to pivot.”

I teamed up with them because it really aligned with what I’m passionate about; which is helping improve the future through technology, sustainability, and education. This project allowed people to submit their ideas that can help improve the future and NESTE would fund it.

4 Reasons Women Should Run for Office

First, more women should run for office so we can change the fundamental political rules that are in place. Rules that tell us not to report something that our boss does but does not want reported in order to maintain the status quo. In other words, cover it up, do your job and keep your mouth shut.

Second, more women should run to redistribute the balance of power in our political system. We need to stop allowing men to decide what is best for us, especially when it comes to our health and finances. We don’t need  legislation that intrudes into the privacy of our doctor’s office and we don’t need legislators who believe it is OK for us to be paid less for doing the same work as our male counterparts.

Third, women’s voices are needed because we bring a different perspective to politics. We should not be afraid or fearful of running for office or being called names or challenged by those who do not have the courage to do what we all know we can do. Instead, we should be more fearful of what will happen to our city, our state, our nation or our universe when women don’t run … when they don’t step up and out of their comfort zone and take care of business.

Fourth,  more women should run because women are less likely to be involved in sexual abuse of power or sexual harassment. Most of us are smarter than that and frankly we are too busy doing our real work and caring about the community.

 In San Juan’s historic center there is a giant colonial door bearing an image of the Puerto Rican flag.

Known appropriately as “La Puerta de la Bandera,” the mural boldly asserts its presence from the side of an abandoned historical building on a busy commercial strip, where on any given day a gaggle of tourists flashing peace signs can be found taking turns at photos.

Since it was first painted by local artist Rosenda Álvarez four years ago with permission from the building’s owner, La Puerta has emerged as an emblematic fixture of Old San Juan and a symbol of national identity.

Several weeks ago, surprised visitors and residents of San Juan were greeted by a somber black-and-white re-imagining of the island’s beloved red, white, and blue bandera.

While Álvarez’s latest work seems to evoke a mood of patriotic mourning, Boricuas might also recognize parallels with the defunct Puerto Rican Nationalist Party’s spare black-and-white cross.

For his part, the building’s owner was originally unaware of the changes, but he has since expressed his full support for Álvarez’s decision. The general public, however, was more divided, with some even trying to mobilize fellow islanders to repaint the flag.

Nobody knew what to do, but everybody wanted to do something. The June 12 mass shooting that claimed 49 lives at a gay club in Orlando, Florida, unfolded more than 2,000 miles away from Los Angeles — but the grief and frustration over an increasingly familiar narrative left many people in Hollywood searching a meaningful way to respond.

The recipient of many blind offers of service was Ryan Murphy.

The producer’s phone rang frequently in the days following the attack at Pulse, with one call coming from Human Rights Campaign president Chad Griffin. The two quickly crafted a plan to recruit 49 altruistic celebrities to memorialize each of the Orlando victims by reading a brief eulogy of their lives, editing the clips to construct a 18-minute film that started streaming live online starting June 29.

“We want to ensure that what we do is effective,” Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter on set of production.

“It’s on all of us to know each and every one of them by name and for their legacies to, in part, spur change on important issues.”
