The meaning of Christmas … the Night before Christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads …

“That’s Christmas To Me”
The fireplace is burning bright, shining all on me I see the presents underneath the good old Christmas tree And I wait all night ’til Santa comes to wake me from my dreams Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
I see the children play outside, like angels in the snow While mom and daddy share a kiss under the mistletoe And we’ll cherish all these simple things wherever we may be Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
I’ve got this Christmas song in my heart I’ve got the candles glowing in the dark I’m hanging all the stockings by the Christmas tree Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
I listen for the thud of reindeer walking on the roof As I fall asleep to lullabies, the morning’s coming soon The only gift I’ll ever need is the joy of family Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
I’ve got this Christmas song in my heart (song in my heart) I’ve got the candles glowing in the dark I’m hanging all the stockings by the Christmas tree Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
Ooooohhhhoooohhooohhh Ooooohhhhoooohhooohhh
Oh, the joy that fills our hearts and makes us see Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me
I’ve got this Christmas song in my heart I’ve got the candles glowing in the dark And then for years to come we’ll always know one thing That’s the love that Christmas can bring Oh, why? ‘Cause that’s Christmas to me

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” is a song performed by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey.
She wrote and produced the song with Walter Afanasieff. Columbia Records released it on November 1, 1994, as the lead single from her first holiday album and fourth studio album, Merry Christmas. “Christmas” is an uptempo love song that includes bell chimes and heavy back-up vocals, as well as use of synthesizers.
The song’s lyrics declare that the narrator does not care about Christmas presents or lights; all she wants for Christmas is to be with her lover.
This Christmas Eve, millions of American children will leave out cookies and milk for Santa Claus to enjoy after his trip down their chimney with his bag of gifts. Some will add a few carrots for his trusty reindeer, as Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph need sustenance as well.
But it hasn’t always been that way.
According to one theory, the cookies-and-milk custom is derived from an older tradition, when families would stuff stockings with goodies for Santa and hang them by the chimney, his preferred mode of entrance, as a welcoming gift. Now, however, those stockings are usually chock-full of treats and smaller gifts for the family members themselves.
We all know that, in spite of the daily stresses of life … work, family, the world … Christmas is a time when we come together, share love and spread cheer.
There’s a magic in the air.
It’s contagious and so very special.
All look forward to the special season.
This year, it’s been very different for me … and I’m sure for many.
(precisely 65, 844,610 Americans)!
We all know why this is the case.
I’ve said many times that humor saves the day.
Here’s an attempt to do so … may fall a bit short.
Donald Trump is the Grinch in College Humor ‘You’re A Mean One, Mr. Trump’ Parody Song
by William Hoffman
~Make Christmas Great Again~
“You’re A Mean One, Mr. Trump” is animated in the style of the original film and plays on the classic tune, showing a furry grinched-out Trump killing mice, cutting the preamble of the Constitution up into a tie and dressing up as a Mexican immigrant to steal children’s Christmas presents.
The video brings to light some of his most egregious acts from the year including his proposal to bar all Muslims from the United States, build a wall on the Mexican boarder paid for by the country itself and making fun of a disabled New York Times reporter.
With the year’s passing of beloved musician and composer Leonard Cohen, it only seems fitting that his timeless song “Hallelujah” should be going viral once again.
At the Killard House School’s choir concert in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, young Kaylee Rodgers sang a stunning version of Cohen’s most classic tune with modified lyrics. Kaylee’s voice is soaring and rich, but it’s her story that is perhaps most uplifting.
Kaylee happens to have autism and ADHD, and because she was so shy at school, she had a hard time participating in class.
The principal of Killard House, Colin Millar, explains that she
“wouldn’t really read out in class … so to stand and perform in front of an audience is amazing …
It takes a lot of effort on Kaylee’s part.”
Kaylee’s music teacher, Lloyd Scates, played a large role in helping her find the confidence to sing.
Her mother divulged that “she always loved singing, but it wasn’t until she started at Killard House School that she really came into her own. Mr. Scates is like her safety blanket – he’s amazing.”
Watch the video below to witness Kaylee’s touching transformation.
The lyrics of this modified version were written by contemporary Christian rock band Cloverton.
“There was no more meaningless phrase in all of language than “Cheer up!”
The only way to get someone to cheer up was to help them forget, and saying “cheer up” had quite the opposite effect, only reminding the person why he or she was depressed in the first place.”
"the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord shine His face upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace"
