At the end of the day …. “Beyoncé …. Super Bowl Halftime Show”!!

~~February 10, 2016~~

I’m not a football fan. I didn’t grow up watching the game, don’t know the rules and, have to say, I don’t have any interest in it.

There was no intention of watching the game at home. We had company and they wanted to watch it.

I was glad because I got to see Lady Gaga and Queen Bey.

I was glad to see both performances.

Then, all hell broke loose in the !!

Yet, I still haven’t still seen the full “Formation” official video.

However, in my humble opinion, she did a great job in bringing to the forefront the current reality of America’s society.

Kudos, Queen Bey!!

Beyoncé Made a Major Political Statement in her Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Jonathan Zhou, Epoch Times

~February 8, 2016~

Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance of her new single, “Formation,” has received a large amount of post-game attention, stemming not from a reaction to its artistry, but the political message it apparently contained.

Her back-ups dancers were dressed in black leather and berets that bore resemblance to the uniforms of the Black Panthers, a black nationalist paramilitary group, some noted. In one point in the performance, Beyoncé and her dancers shook their fists in the air in unison, a possible reference to the 1968 Olympics black power salute.

The Formation hit-maker, who surprised everyone by dropping her new single and video at the weekend, had backing dancers dressed as members of armed rights group the Black Panthers.

While whipping their hair and stomping in incredible heels, they formed an ‘X’ on the field – a nod to black rights campaigner Malcolm X.

At one point in the video, a graffiti with the message “stop shooting us” appears on a side of a building, and Beyoncé sits atop a police car that’s submerged under the flood.

“Beyoncé’s dancers paying homage to the Black Panthers at the Superbowl wins Black History Month. #SB50.”

Her new song is thought to be a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement and Bey’s mum Tina Knowles also shared pics of her with the dancers giving the black power salute.

Beyonce’s halftime performance was so much more than just a good show. It was a powerful homage to black history, activism, and the current climate of racial instability – in front of an audience of over 100 million people.

To start the day …. “Back To The Start … Food With Integrity”!!

Chipotle returns to Animation to Support Sustainable Farming

Two years after Chipotle Mexican Grill introduced to widespread acclaiman animated commercial with a pointed message about sustainable farming, the company is back with another animated spot on the subject of food production.

The new commercial, called “The Scarecrow,” has already amassed more than four million views on YouTube since it was uploaded. The commercial takes swipes at giant companies that treat food like another product to process and contrasts that with food made in sustainable ways that is fresh and wholesome.

The subject of inhumane farming is not an easy one to broach. Some people just don’t want to know about it because, well, it’s not pleasant to hear about animals being forced to live in horrific conditions and being pumped up with chemicals. But fast food chain Chipotle, which only does business with farmers dedicated to humane practices, found a way into people’s hearts and minds through Back to the Start.

Created in conjunction with the CAA Marketing arm of Creative Artists Agency and director Johnny Kelly, the animated short tells the story of a farmer who has allowed his humane family farm to be transformed into one of those horrific factory-style farms but ultimately realizes the error of his ways and moves back toward more sustainable farming methods.

It’s an emotional journey, and the captivating visuals — all of the action is captured in one long pan that runs throughout the film — are supported by Willie Nelson’s haunting rendition of Coldplay’sThe Scientist.” Co.Create spoke with Jesse Coulter, co-chief creative officer of CAA Marketing, to explore the making of this affecting piece of branded content.

~Back to the Start~

~Uploaded on Aug 25, 2011~

Coldplay’s haunting classic ‘The Scientist’ is performed by country music legend Willie Nelson for the soundtrack of the short film entitled, “Back to the Start.”

The film, by film-maker Johnny Kelly, depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.

Chipotle Mexican Grill established the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation in 2011 to extend its commitment to creating a more sustainable food future.

The foundation is dedicated to providing resources and promoting good stewardship for farmers; promoting better livestock husbandry; encouraging regenerative agriculture practices; and fostering food literacy, cooking education, and nutritious eating.

Since its inception, the foundation has contributed more than $3 million to like-minded organizations committed to cultivating a better world through food.

At the end of the day …. “Piano Guys: When Stars and Salt collide – Coldplay, A Sky Full of Stars”!!

~~October 3, 2015~~

The Piano Guys just released their most recent video today.

I’ve been following these musicians since I first heard of them through very my very dear friends Susan and Grant.

I’ve posted many of their YouTube videos in this blog.

I was lucky to see them perform live in Melbourne, Florida.

I think they are amazing.

Their musical talent combined with the awesome photography, videography and the team effort that shows through in their work is worth of the current worldwide acclaim and fame they have acquired.

In person, they are quite down to earth and genuine.

I didn’t know this story about how they started.

They shared it on their official website.

I would like to share it with you.

Hope you enjoy.

It was 2011.

Late in the year. What started as a small town ambition to sell pianos through social media had shown some promise as a standalone YouTube music video channel. We had a few videos under our belts. We had a handful of subscribers. We were building steam. We were loving it!

But one looming, sour-faced, obstinate obstacle stood in the way.

How could we sustain this? How could we keep this pace?

We had robbed too much time away from family, day jobs; we were living two lives — nocturnal and diurnal — in an attempt to write music and film videos in every spare second.

Our day jobs, including the Piano Store itself, saw a sharp decline due to negligence.

Reality hit. It hit hard.

Our music videos were not providing near enough to provide for our families, our number one priority.

They say that the only difference between a large pizza and a professional musician is that a large pizza can feed a family of four!

So we hatched this crazy idea.

What if our genesis, as official full-time “Piano Guys,” could be “crowd funded?”

What if we offered special packages to people in exchange for their support to help us get our wheels off the ground? We launched the “Founders” program. We were cautious in our optimism, but we were completely overwhelmed. The generous support of so many people gave us the wings we needed. And it gave us a boost in confidence, enthusiasm, and commitment to the people listening and watching.

Now here we are. Over fifty videos with 700 million views, four million YouTube subscribers, a million Facebook fans, and four albums with Sony. We’ve sold out shows in the U.S., Mexico, China, Germany, Canada, Singapore, Hungary, Austria, England, Scotland, France, Korea, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, and Japan. And best of all, our families haven’t starved! All because of our Founders. Had it not been for your support and faith in us, we would not be The Piano Guys today.

If you’re a Founder, you know that we do all we can to ensure that our music videos are not just a “product.” We put everything we’ve got into them. All of who we are. There is a spiritual component to them. We try to “break the mold” with them. We want something on the internet that grandparents, parents, and children can enjoy. Together. Our mission has always been to lift people with what we do. Prompt a smile. Hope. Encouragement to keep practicing or to take up an instrument! A moment of escape from a world that can all too often peddle darkness on us. Life is made up of moments. Small things snowball into great things. We wanted to do something small that could help someone to be great. And if all we did was help one person it would have been worth it.

Because of you, we’ve reached people that we couldn’t dream of reaching. Many of these people have talked to us at our concerts, posted on our walls, messaged and emailed us with their stories. They are inspiring. They are miraculous. They are stories of people rekindling long lost relationships, surmounting mountainous challenges, finding meaning in life, chasing out life’s “demons,” starting and excelling at an instrument, reconnecting with God, or being emboldened in a career choice.

They are your stories. You made them happen. Thank you from all of these good people, whose souls’ worth is incalculable. Thank you from our spouses. Our children. Thank you from the bottom of everything we have and everything we aspire to be. You remain our inspiration.

Our benefactors. Our Founders.

We love you.

Please accept this video as a very small token of our appreciation for you.

Your names are printed on what we now affectionately call our “Founders’ Piano” and “Founders’ Cello!

For your video we put together an arrangement of a super cool tune called, “A Sky Full of Stars,” by Coldplay, because we feel like the REAL stars of the Piano Guys are our Founders.

As we were writing and recording this we prayed that we could pour our sincere gratitude into each and every measure.

After we finished with the music we determined to film in a place you may recognize, the Salt Flats where we filmed “Moonlight.” What better venue than a place of our “roots” and where your names would be the “stars” of the film, starkly contrasted against the eternal white salt stretching as far as the eye can see?

At the end of the day …. “Miracles”!!

~~December 29, 2014~~

Miracles” is a song by British alternative rock band Coldplay, which was written and recorded for the 2014 drama film Unbroken, directed by Angelina Jolie. The song was first unveiled on 11 December 2014, and released as a single from the film’s soundtrack album on 15 December 2014 through Parlophone and Atlantic Records.

The song was accompanied by a lyric video, which was released on 22 December of the same year.

Unbroken is the true story of Olympian-cum-war hero Louis “Louie” Zamperini, who survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII. Shortly thereafter, he was captured and sent to a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp.

Zamperini will be played by Jolie-protege Jack O’Connell.

From up above I heard
The angels sing to me these words.
And sometimes in your eyes
I see the beauty in the world.

Oh, now I’m floating so high.
I blossom and die.
Send your storm and your lightning to strike
Me between the eyes,

Sometimes the stars decide
To reflect in puddles in the dirt.
When I look in your eyes
I forget all about what hurts.

Oh, now I’m floating so high.
I blossom and die.
Send your storm and your lightning to strike
Me between the eyes
And cry.

Believe in miracles.

Oh hey, I’m floating up above the world now!
Oh hey, I’m floating up above the world now!

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah!
