Donald Trump Has Some Colorful Friends
Our future president pals around with curious fellows like these.
Totally normal, right?
~~PARTIAL LYRICS~~
‘Cause I’ve got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I’ll be okay
I’m not big on social graces
Think I’ll slip on down to the oasis
Oh I’ve got friends in low places …

~~Remembering Those We Lost in 2016~~
~~Published on Dec 29, 2016~~
At the end of this crazy year I wanted to do something special to celebrate the lives of those we’ve lost.
I wasn’t able to include everyone, of course, but I tried my best to include those who meant something to me.
This year is close to its end. It has been a trying year in so many aspects. Conflicts, war, injustices, kidnapping, bombings, invasion of free, established countries, power moves, power grabs, disappointing elections, persecution, inequality, racism, abuse by authority figures, killings …. the list continues. Feel free to add your own.
Soon a new year will start …. can we reverse course?
One summer evening in 1955, a group of 180 teenagers of all races and religions, meeting at a workshop high in the California mountains, locked arms, formed a circle and sang a song of peace. They felt that singing the song, with its simple basic sentiment – “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me,” helped to create a climate for world peace and understanding.
When they came down from the mountain, these inspired young people brought the song with them and started sharing it. And, as though on wings, “Let There Be Peace On Earth” began an amazing journey around the globe. It traveled first, of course with the young campers back to their homes and schools, churches and clubs. Then the circle started by the teenagers began to grow. Soon the song was being shared in all fifty states – at school graduations and a PTA meetings, at Christmas and Easter gatherings and as part of the celebration of Brotherhood Week.
It was a theme for Veteran’s Day, Human Rights Day and U.N. Day. 4-H Clubs and the United Auto Workers began singing it. So did the American Legion, the B’nai B’rith, the Kiwanis Clubs and CORE. It was taped, recorded, copied, printed in song books, and passed by word of mouth.
The song spread overseas to Holland, England, France, Germany, Lebanon, South America, Asia and Australia. The Maoris in New Zealand sang it – even the Zulus in Africa sang it.
Music for a peaceful mind. “Let There Be Peace On Earth” -Sang by Vince Gill Written by Jill Jackson Miller (1913-1995) American singer, actress
Jill Jackson’s early life was filled with tragedy and self-doubt. Although she had moderate success as a film star, she tried to kill herself after her marriage fell apart. Her unsuccessful suicide attempt led to a deep spiritual awakening, and after marrying songwriter Sy Miller they co-wrote the 1955 classic song of hope, “Let There Be Peace On Earth and Let It Begin With Me”. She called this song, “life-saving joy of God’s peace and unconditional love.”
I’ve been watching TV tonight, something I don’t do frequently. I get most of my information through the posts here, in the blogosphere. It’s really interesting how fast news are spread here than through the news channels.
Tonight is a night where I have no words. All I have is raw feelings.
personal situations
envy, jealousy, hate
education, health, infrastructure
state of many cities in our country
state of our country
domestic violence
society’s values and priorities
fanaticism
state of the world
pollution, waste, lack of,discrimination, persecution, inequality, displacement, abuse, prejudice, ignorance, moral values, inaction, conflicts, wars, killings … you add your own.
A very good friend just told me:
“”We stand for freedom, for justice, for dignity. These are values that have guided our nation since its founding.” Except Here In America. DO NOT ask Americans to fight for foreign freedoms when Americans are NOT free in America.”
These are some of the recent post that have come my way tonight. They are excellent. Stop and read. Get another perspective
Why be afraid if I’m not alone Though life is never easy the rest is unknown Up to now for me it’s been hands against stone Spent each and every moment Searching for what to believe
Coming out of the dark, I finally see the light now It’s shining on me Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me You’re sharing with me
Starting again is part of the plan And I’ll be so much stronger holding your hand Step by step I’ll make it through I know I can It may not make it easier but I have felt you Near all the way
Coming out of the dark, i finally see the light now It’s shining on me Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me You’re sharing with me
Forever, forever I stand on the rock of your love Forever I’ll stand on the rock Forever, forever I stand on the rock of your love Love is all it takes, no matter what we face
Coming out of the dark, i finally see the light now It’s shining on me Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me You’re sharing with me
~~WE NEED TO COME OUT OF THE DARK~~

When we arrive on this world, we are connected to Source. We are like a blank page on a notebook. There’s nothing written there. There are no rules yet established. It’s like an empty CD. There’s innocence, all is good and pleasurable. No boundaries or limits are in place.
There’s intense love and purity.
How long does this stage last?
As soon as we realize what is around us, after the mother figure ceases to be the center of attention, that’s when the outside world starts invading our small inside “world”.
I remember when I first held Angelika, my oldest grandchild, in my forearm (that’s how tiny she was). I looked into those big, brown eyes and saw nothing but bright light and wonder. I didn’t want to let her go. I didn’t want to see her grow. I knew then that this couldn’t be. Of course, she would grow up and start making her way in her world.
As we all walk along our path we have experiences that leave their marks in our self. There’s pain generated through some experiences. There’s mistrust generated also. We may become bitter because of this.
Try with all our might to still believe that this is a beautiful world.
That’s our mission.
Keeping this mission, during the days that we are living, is proving to be difficult. How can we remain soft, avoid hate and bitterness? How can we remain soft when all that surrounds us can have no other effect but to make us hard?
We see greed, dishonesty, conflict, prejudice, disease, inequality, persecution, racism, bullying, poverty, hunger, conflicts, war, killing … on a daily basis, be it at “home” or around the world. Try as hard as you can …. keep the faith, continue your journey and believe.
“Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.”
Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. ( November 11, 1922 – April 11, 2007) was an American writer. His works such as Cat’s Cradle (1963), Slaughterhouse-Five (1969), and Breakfast of Champions (1973) blend satire, gallows humor, and science fiction. He was known for his humanist beliefs and was honorary president of the American Humanist Association.
The New York Times headline at the time of Vonnegut’s passing called Vonnegut “the counterculture’s novelist”.
