Colleagues at a government-contracted shelter in Arizona had a specific request for Antar Davidson when three Brazilian migrant children arrived:

Davidson quit this week after being a youth care worker at the Tucson shelter, Estrella del Norte, for just a few months. He decided to speak out about his experiences there in hopes of improving a system often shielded from public scrutiny. His comments in a telephone interview offer a rare look into the operation of a migrant shelter.
Davidson said he became disillusioned after the Drumpf administration’s “zero tolerance” policy began sending the shelter not only children who had crossed the border unaccompanied by adults, but also those separated from their parents.

Drumpf: I have a ‘great heart’ and a ‘great love’ for Dreamers

IF THIS IS GREAT HEART AND LOVE

I would hate to see the ‘no heart, no love version’

They say it’s 800,000 people affected.

I’d say it’s more because you have to include their extended families who would also have to leave this country. You can’t separate the family.

Can you imagine?

Broken dreams, undone future plans, careers, planned events and so much more. The American dream?

Drumpf said Tuesday, September 5, he has a “great heart” and a “great love” for those who are protected from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, hours after his administration announced it was being rescinded.

The Drumpf administration announced Tuesday morning it will roll back DACA by March 5, giving Congress six months to come up with a permanent, legislative solution for young illegal immigrants currently shielded from the threat of deportation, called Dreamers, under the program.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the administration’s decision to rescind DACA, and the president’s remarks before the meeting on tax reform are his first public comments on the move.

Ignorance is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge).The word ignorant is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware and is often used as an insult to describe individuals who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts. Ignoramus is commonly used in the US, the UK, and Ireland as a term for someone who is willfully ignorant.

Ignorance is distinguished from stupidity, although both can lead to “unwise” acts.

Writer Thomas Pynchon articulated about the scope and structure of one’s ignorance: “Ignorance is not just a blank space on a person’s mental map. It has contours and coherence, and for all I know rules of operation as well. So as a corollary to [the advice of] writing about what we know, maybe we should add getting familiar with our ignorance, and the possibilities therein for writing a good story.”

Oppression is the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. It can also be defined as an act or instance of oppressing, the state of being oppressed, and the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions or people, and anxiety.

The systematic, socially supported mistreatment and exploitation of a group, category, or team of people or individual.

Institutional Oppression occurs when established laws, customs, and practices systematically reflect and produce inequities based on one’s membership in targeted social identity groups.
