You may be wondering why this photograph, where you can’t even see the couple’s faces, is so great.

The bird’s eye view shot gained popularity after the wedding for two reasons:

First, if you look at the photo, you may be able to notice how their bodies create the shape of a heart. Aww, could it get more romantic than that?
Second, people are also referring to it as the “Diana’s View” photograph, as some saw the picture and imagined that this might be the view Diana would have of her son’s special day.’

SYRIA’S WAR: CONVOLUTED AND COMPLICATED

Syria has been at the forefront of the news for several years.

We know about the war raging within its borders.

We have seen the many refugees leaving and running into uncertain conditions about their travels and their eventual destination.

This week, the situation attracted a huge spotlight due to the launching of Tomahawk missiles, early Friday, April 7, by the United States on a base in western Syria that the United States says was used to launch Tuesday’s chemical attack, April 4, which left nearly 100 people dead and hundreds more injured.

The video explains the many details, factions, alliances and ‘players’.

SAY THEIR NAMES

It’s been three days since the tragedy in Orlando.

It feels like an eternity.

It feels life is passing by in slow motion.

I thank the Human Rights Campaign for preparing the graphics included below.

As information poored in, as the investigation continues, the victim list was released.

Slowly we learned their names.

Now we see the face that goes with each name.

It’s a possibility that the number may increase since there are several critical victims in local hospitals.

Take a look.

These are human beings no different than any of us.

They all bled red.

They all had lives, dreams, hope, vitality, jobs, an full life ahead of them, family and friends.

How different are they from anyone?

Their sexuality?

Take that factor away …. what do you see?

I urge you, dare you, to look at each graphic, read each tibit of personal information.

I assure you, your heart will skip a beat.

There will always be haters.

There will always be bigots.

There will always be shameless politicians.

But Faces humanize the Names …. it hits home.

Puerto Rican culture has many nuances, details and idiosyncrasies, among other things, that those who aren’t Puerto Rican may not understand.

Hence … “It’s a Puerto Rican thing”.

As a Puerto Rican living in the mainland, I have American friends who wonder about our actions, sayings, beliefs and sense of humor.

Plenty of times, I say … ‘it’s a Puerto Rican thing’ .. and then explain.

January 6, 2015 marked an incredible occasion in my life.

WE ARE FINALLY HAVING OUR RECEPTION … TWO DAYS FROM TODAY

Our big day … the celebration is getting closer. Family has traveled from up north. We expect friends for our area and some out of town.

We are still finalizing the last details … yes, those pesky ones that pop up all of a sudden.

Therefore, I won’t be able to be here as usual. I will surely pop in and out and check what you are up to and maybe reblog the posts come through.

I hope to be back as usual by next Monday …. with the usual enthusiasm, speed and frequency.
