To start the day …. “Earth Day 2016 …. A Warning …. “!!

~~April 22, 2016~~

April 22 has been Earth Day for many years now

Generally is a day for celebration.

We can do that but what we can’t forget is the fact that there’s a sinister side to celebrating this day.

We have to acknowledge the other side of this reality.

Let’s not be blind to what our reality really is.

Our Earth is full of scars.

Wounds have been inflicted by us humans.

I look through my personal library and find books related to recycling, green consumer,  tropical nature, end of nature, earth rights, save our planet and many more.

Mind you, I got these books while I was in high school and college.

That was many more than 40 years ago.

Still the same concerns apply and, at this time, with more urgency.

Remember, there’s no “Planet B“, at least for the average citizen.

Many events are taking place simultaneously: raging wars almost worldwide, genocide, injustices, obviating humans rights, killings, hunger, poverty, catastrophic losses, hurricanes, drought, earthquakes.

I often wonder, if humans treat other humans without regard to life, why would they treat our planet, our home, with any small iota of respect.

It seems to be that “the powers that be” are squeezing Mother Earth until the last drop of her resources has been converted to profit.

Greed is the driving force.

We, as the human race, will have to pay.

Mother Earth will have the final say.

We ALL are connected through HUMANITY!!

At the end of the day …. “Sorry, Future Generations”!!

~~April 20, 2015~~

“Dear Future Generations: Sorry”

Activist and Artist Prince Ea Releases New Video on Earth Day supporting Stand for Trees campaign

SAN FRANCISCO, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire

For the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, celebrity activist and spoken word artist Prince Ea launched his newest online video entitled “Dear Future Generations: Sorry” to motivate individuals to take immediate action to stop climate change by Standing for Trees.

Prince Ea was inspired to produce the video by the Stand for Trees campaign, an innovative new way for individuals to take real and effective action to protect threatened forests and help mitigate global climate change, all with the press of a button on their smart phones.

“We owe children a better future than the one we’re giving them now,” said Prince Ea, who visited two Stand for Trees project sites developed by Wildlife Works in Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“This isn’t just about saving trees, it’s about doing what’s right for billions of people around the world affected by climate change, as well as taking back the future of generations who will be affected by the actions we take today.”

Prince Ea, an online sensation, has more more than 1.3 million Facebook followers and YouTube videos with over 12 million views. In this latest video, he apologizes to future generations for the destruction that has been wrought on the world. He is encouraging everyone to stand up and take action now.

~About Prince Ea~

Born and raised on the North Side of St. Louis Missouri, Prince Ea has a sound unlike most artists. Possessing a great song writing ability and stage presence, he combines both creative and thought-provoking songs that neatly tie-in humor, wit, passion, and hard-hitting punch lines. Along with Prince Ea’s internet success, he has also been featured in both national and local publications including Huffington Post, CBS, FOX and Yahoo Music. VIBE Magazine declared him Vibe Verses Grand Champion and he was also featured in DISCOVER magazine for his academically provocative single “The Brain,” where he was dubbed “The King of brainy hip-hop.” Since then he has released several extremely popular spoken words that have been featured nationwide in various publications and talk shows including the Queen Latifah Show and the Blaze with Glenn Beck.

~About Stand for Trees~

Stand for Trees is a first of its kind consumer campaign that uses the power of social media and crowd-funding to enable everyone to take real and effective action to reduce deforestation and curb climate change. Through an innovative mobile web solution, individuals can now purchase ‘Stand For Trees Certificates‘ – high quality, REDD+ verified carbon credits – to help communities protect endangered forests and wildlife by supporting sustainable livelihoods.

The campaign was founded by Code REDD and supported by the United States Agency for International Development and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

To start the day …. “Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day rally on the National Mall”!!

~~April 17, 2015~~

Global Poverty Project CEO Hugh Evans has many goals for Saturday’s free Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day rally on the National Mall, one of which is simple: “We want the sun to shine,” Evans says. His other goals are more ambitious. The rally and star-studded concert, put on by the Global Poverty Project and the Earth Day Network, aim to unite the issues of climate change and global poverty, and to engage citizens and business and world leaders to act now to address both.

What is this?

It’s a rally. The main event is the free concert, which will feature sets from My Morning Jacket (read Express’ interview with singer Jim James here), Train, Fall Out Boy, Mary J. Blige, Usher and No Doubt. and Soledad O’Brien are hosting the program, which runs rain or shine. The day’s speakers include Don Cheadle, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim. Organizers are not releasing a schedule of performances.

Where is this happening?

On the National Mall. The stage is between the Ellipse and the Washington Monument, just south of Constitution Avenue. The grounds have three access points: Jefferson Drive and 15th Street NW, 17th Street and Independence Avenue SW, and 17th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. Parking is limited; your best bet is to take Metro to the Federal Triangle or Smithsonian stations.

Why is this happening now?

The rally is timed to coincide with both the 45th anniversary of Earth Day and the spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. “We’re interested in building a sustainable movement,” Evans says. “And that’s all focused on long-term engagement of people who want to create change but often don’t know how they can best direct their actions.”

Writing Process Blog Tour …. On the “road” again!!

~~June 30, 2014~~

Thank you very much for inviting me to this great blog tour Patty!

You can find Just Patty at:

The questions are:

What are you currently working on?

Unlike some of my fellow bloggers who are published authors, I select the topics that I post about in a very informal way. I look at the news, remember special holidays, keep track of celebrities – death anniversaries, birthdays – celebrate important days in history, review topics related to animals, music – remembering old hits and posting about new artists and their new songs, consider causes like autism, Earth day, Oceans Day. The environment is a very important subject for me as well as medical issues: medical conditions and adverse effects to the human body due to GMOs, ChemTrails, etc.

Spiritual topics attract me. I try to post inspirational and motivational posts to uplift the human spirit.

From my blog’s “ABOUT”:

“My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is “eclectic” – a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I’m interested in news – reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse – the “wrongly” affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I’m open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.”

“Currently working on an enterprise whose main mission will be to bring peoples of all walks of life together. To be one …. since we ALL are ONE!!

The future looks bright and promising!!!”

I also write from personal experience. I write about my family and my friends’ families. I have written about two good friends who have lost dear ones. People’s stories inspire me. The important topics for them inspire me also.

An idea may come to me through a conversation.

How does your work differ from others of its genre?

This is a bit difficult to answer because I don’t consider I have a “genre”. I think that what I do in the blogosphere is unique only in the aspect that it’s written by one individual. There are so many excellent bloggers out there. I see their work everyday. All of them are unique.

I have learned many things from those I follow and read. The topics are as varied as there are bloggers. The same goes for the style and looks of each blog.

Maybe I can say that my work differs from others because of the passion I put into it. However, I feel the passion that other bloggers/writers have.

Why do you write what you do?

I retired from a full time job after almost 40 years working as a physician. During those many years, I educated patients about their conditions and how to manage them. I supervised interns and residents, worked with nurses, offered informal lectures …. always with the intent to “educate”.

My intention has always been to share what I know and what I learn about. I post to educate in any way possible. My desire is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need.

I write about vacation time, fun time and serious time.

Power of Words

How does your writing process work?

I think that my writing process is very disorganized. LOL … many times I sit in front of the computer wondering what to write about. The google doodles inspire me. Sometimes, postings on Facebook direct me to a topic. New videos on YouTube also lead me down the path to a post. I like to post about the movies that I see and include the “trailer” to motivate the reader.

Bloggers who I read and follow are an inspiration.

Like I’ve said … a bit of everything. Nothing is planned.

I have chosen a few bloggers whose work I love and who are great people as well. Take a look!

“Goin’ places that I’ve never been.
Seein’ things that I may never see again

And I can’t wait to get on the road again.
On the road again –
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We’re the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way”
