Ricky Martin shocked the audience with an unexpected visit to Ellen, and talked to her about JetBlue’s Check in For Good contest, what it’s like being married, and being nominated for an Emmy for “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story“.

Plus, Ellen and her friends at Shutterfly also had a big surprise for Ricky so he can continue his efforts to help rebuild Puerto Rico.

TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS

Plenty of times I’ve heard … ‘those people on welfare are taking advantage of the system’.

They shouldn’t be on it. I’m paying for it with the  taxes I pay.

Some have applauded Trump’s taking advantage, for his personal benefit, of the current tax code.

That’s what makes him smart.

That’s what makes him a genius!

That’s what makes him a great businessman.

Yet, remember, we also paid for his gaming the system with the taxes we pay.

Hence, no complaining about the welfare use if Trump’s ‘gaming of the system’ is OK with some.

These two options ARE NOT inclusive.

It’s comparing  ‘apples to oranges’.

The idiom, comparing apples and oranges, refers to the apparent differences between items which are popularly thought to be incomparable or incommensurable, such as apples and oranges.

I hear a song and that song evokes an emotion and that emotion in me helped in the creation of this tribute video.

While I wish all of the images were high resolution …. some images of that day were caught with low quality equipment and the images I chose all seemed to fit with how I was feeling. I witnessed the events of this day like many of us did and it changed me forever.

It will always feel fresh in my mind and feel like it happened yesterday. Having experienced such a tragic day …. your outlook on so many world events changes.

It is amazing how divided the world seems right now but how unified we all were after the events of 9/11….
