It was’t until last night’s VMA Awards and today that I went searching for the video. P!nk has always had serious, impacting messages to share in her songs.
This is another example at a time when it’s most needed.
“What About Us” is a song by American singer and songwriter Pink. It was written by P!nk, Steve Mac and Johnny McDaid, with production handled by Mac. The song was released through RCA Records on August 10, 2017, as the lead single from P!nk’s upcoming seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma (2017).
“What About Us” is described as an emotional club ballad and dance floor anthem with pounding drums and an array of synthesizers. The song has also been described as a protest song.

LGBTQ Americans Won’t Be Counted in 2020 U.S. Census After All

LGBTQ advocacy groups are outraged after proposed questions regarding sexual orientation and gender identity were quickly removed Tuesday, March 28, from a just-released draft of the 2020 U.S. Census.
The U.S. Census Bureau, which is part of the Department of Commerce, is required to issue a list of categories it plans to track three years before the survey is conducted.
Advocacy groups have been campaigning for years to include questions about sexual orientation and gender identity, and were briefly elated when the 2020 Census draft was released. But hopes were dashed when the proposed addition suddenly disappeared, and a statement was issued by the Census bureau that called the LGBTQ inclusion a mistake.

Gilbert Baker (June 2, 1951 – March 31, 2017) was an openly gay American artist and civil rights activist who designed the rainbow flag in 1978. Baker’s flag became widely associated with LGBT rights causes, a symbol of pride that became ubiquitous in the decades since its debut.
The colors on the Rainbow Flag reflect the diversity of the LGBT community.
When Baker raised the first rainbow flags at San Francisco Pride (his group raised two flags at the Civic Center) on June 25, 1978, it had eight colors, each with a symbolic meaning:
Hot Pink: sexuality
Red: life
Orange: healing
Yellow: sunlight
Green: nature
Turquoise: magic/art
Blue: serenity/harmony
Violet: spirit
Neil McGill Gorsuch (born August 29, 1967) is an American federal appellate judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
On February 1, 2017, Drumpf nominated Gorsuch to be an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, to fill the seat left vacant after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia eleven months earlier.

Earlier on Tuesday, March 21, Senator Richard Durbin asked Gorsuch about his views on LGBT people, and President Trump’s nominee seemed annoyed about having to respond to the question.
“What about them?” he asked. “They’re people.”
When Durbin asked the nominee to give an example of a decision or statement he made that was favorable to LGBT people, Gorsuch declared that he feels all people are entitled to equal treatment under the law.
“Senator, I’ve tried to treat each case and each person as a person, not a ‘this kind of person,’ not a ‘that kind of person’ – a person,” Gorsuch replied.
“Equal justice under law is a radical promise in the history of mankind.”

The states’ rights argument is particularly shitty in this case, because the crux of that argument is you can choose to live in a state that reflects your personal values, but if you’re a transgender teenager in Montgomery, you can’t just uproot and leave Alabama because the fat dip-shit two lockers down from you is afraid of the future.

MISSION: UNDO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OF WHAT OBAMA DID
Last year, while Barack Obama was president, the Education and Justice Departments issued the guidelines, saying among other things that transgender students should be called by their preferred names and pronouns, and have access to the restrooms, locker rooms, and other single-sex facilities that correspond with their gender identity.
The guidelines are nonbinding, but the Obama administration had warned that schools not following them could be found in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits sex discrimination, and face a loss of federal funding.
Yesterday, Drumpf rescinded Title IX from the schools in this nation.
