The official term for the red thing on a turkey is a wattle. The wattle changes color as the turkey gets excited or angry.

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices of Christian origin.

Behaviors or habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities.

According to the standard list, they are pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth, which are also contrary to the seven virtues. These sins are often thought to be abuses or excessive versions of one’s natural faculties or passions (for example, gluttony abuses one’s desire to eat).

I’m very much aware that these are trying times.

America is at a crossroads.

Depending on your beliefs, the political arena is as hot as a kitchen oven going full blast.

No hold bared, pulling all kinds of punches.

That seems to be the order of the day.

Anyway, in this climate, any kind of humor dispels the heaviness of the situation.

Yet, again, it depends on your political stance.

I found this to be very interesting and funny.

Canadian comedian Tom Green – who was fired by Donald Trump during the 2009 season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice – stars in a video released on liberal comedy website Funny or Die that features the GOP presidential nominee rapping to an audience featuring Nazis and Ku Klux Klan members.

Kimberly Jean Bailey Davis (born September 17, 1965) is the county clerk of Rowan County, Kentucky. In 2015, Davis gained national media attention after defying a federal court order requiring that she issue marriage licenses following the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, starting a same-sex marriage controversy in Kentucky. In the ruling, the US Supreme Court held that the right to marriage is guaranteed to same-sex couples by the Fourteenth Amendment.

After the Supreme Court decision, Davis began refusing to issue any licenses, either to same-sex or opposite-sex couples. Four couples represented by the ACLU filed a lawsuit against Davis (Miller v. Davis).

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky ordered Davis to issue licenses as required by law. Her lawyers filed an emergency application with the Supreme Court seeking to put the lower court’s order on hold while she pursued an appeal, but the application was denied. Davis continued to defy the court order and deny marriage licenses, saying she was acting “under God’s authority“.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.
