INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

What a beautiful concept. What a beautiful idea. What a beautiful celebration.

I can only extrapolate my feelings and believe that ALL human beings want and deserve peace.

Why is this so elusive?

Of course, it’s a rhetorical question.

There are many answers, many of us feel that way.

Each an every one has an answer for why isn’t there peace in the world.

It’s elusive and seems to be so far away.

We can only hope and image!

The day was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly and in 2001, the General Assembly voted to designate the day as a period of non-violence and ceasefire.

THE CUP RUNNETH OVER

I don’t profess to be an expert on politics.

I’m a common folk human being who has a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong.

There’s no secret I’m not a Trump fan.

My real feelings about him shouldn’t be written here.

As days have gone by, they become more and more negative.

I wanted to point this incident out because of the fact that it really infuriated and scared me.

I believe there should be a certain degree of decorum in human activity whatever that may be.

This man, in my eyes, continues to sink to the lowest of the low.

The FBI, the Secret Service and the political campaigns are aware of this.

I hope that something is done.

Then again, he may slither away from this one, like the snake he is.

Anyone who cares about their country, anyone who cares about basic decency will stand up against what Donald Trump suggested today with respect to the 2nd amendment.

He and his surrogates will try to say it was a joke or that he was referring to “get out the vote” efforts.

No thinking person believes that to be true. He was stirring the pot, he was trying to distract from his obvious political shortcomings, he was trying to stir up his base.

Gabby Giffords knows the consequences of inciting violence, we can’t afford to have a President who thinks its ok to say what Donald Trump said today.

Jeb Bush Says ‘Stuff Happens‘ In Response to Gun Violence

While speaking to reporters during a campaign stop in Greenville, South Carolina, on Friday, Jeb Bush weighed in on the latest school shooting to take place in the United States, this time in Oregon, just a day before.

Presidential candidate Jeb Bush made an eyebrow-raising comment in the wake of the Oregon school massacre — saying “stuff happens” in response to a discussion about gun violence.

Bush called the shooting in Oregon “heartbreaking,” and said he also had challenges that he faced during his tenure as governor of Florida.

“Look, stuff happens, there’s always a crisis and the impulse is always to do something and it’s not always the right thing to do,” Bush said at the Conservative Leadership Project in Greenville, South Carolina, referring to taking away rights.

A gunman opened fire on the campus of Umpqua Community College Thursday, October 1, killing 9 people and wounding seven others. He later died in a gun battle with police.

The astonishingly callous summation of Thursday’s deadly rampage that killed 10 people and injured seven others was buffered by Bush’s criticism against renewed calls for gun control.

When I woke up this morning, I was wondering which topic I would cover in the “To start the day ..” post. I had no clue. I sat here and started looking at the web pages. I was browsing through the Facebook pages and it brought me here. I landed on the graphic above and liked it. Then it seemed that it would be a post about souls, war and hungry children. However, looking for information brought me here.
