It’s not my intention to toot my own horn. Yet, if I don’t tell you, how will you know? I was born near the capital city of Puerto Rico, San Juan.
I’ve been totally blessed with so much!
I can’t complain.
My father lived to be almost 96 years old. He always said that he didn’t feel that age. His mind was sharp as a tack but his body betrayed him. I think, among many things, I inherited that from him too. My understanding of his feelings become clearer as the years go by.
As the lady says, ‘my body knows my age but my mind totally refuses to believe it’.
As congressional Republicans race to repeal and replace President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, one of their principal challenges is finding an alternative that does not expose older and less affluent white voters at the core of Drumpf’s electoral coalition to greater costs and financial risk.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you mus know by know that Jimmy Kimmel told his family’s personal story about the birth of his brand new son, Billy.
It’s fitting that this be shared because today, the USA’s House of Representatives, lead by Paul Ryan, are claiming to vote on the third attempt at ‘repeal-replace’ the Affordable Health Care Act.
If you haven’t seen Jimmy’s monologue, I strongly recommend that you look for it in YouTube.
Here’s What Republicans Are Voting For on Thursday, May 4
Quick wrap-up of the bill:
There have been no public hearings.
There’s no final text.
There’s no updated CBO score.
It is opposed by virtually every patient advocacy group and everyone in the health care industry.
Congress is still exempted from the new rules that allow states to waive essential benefits.
It raises premiums dramatically for older people.
It removes Obamacare’s protection against being turned down for a pre-existing condition.
It would steadily gut Medicaid spending for the very poorest.
It removes coverage from at least 24 million people, probably more.
It slashes taxes on the rich by about a trillion dollars over ten years.
This is a depraved piece of legislation
It’s a windfall for the rich and promises nothing but misery for the poor. How is it possible that 90% of House Republicans are happily voting in favor of this moral abomination?
Drumpf campaigned on deporting 2 million to 3 million undocumented immigrants
“What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably 2 million, it could be even 3 million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate,” Drumpf told “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl, according to a preview of the interview released by CBS.
“But we’re getting them out of our country. They’re here illegally.”
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
The New Yorker’s Next Cover Features Lady Liberty with Her Light Snuffed Out
“It was the symbol of American values.
Now it seems that we are turning off the light.”
The New Yorker has revealed the cover for its upcoming issue which will feature an image of Lady Liberty with her flame extinguished, a powerful illustration that comes amid the continued fallout from Drumpf’s executive order banning refugee resettlement and travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.

The Flintstones is the first animated primetime American television series.
It was broadcast from September 30, 1960, to April 1, 1966 on ABC.
The show, produced by Hanna-Barbera, fancifully depicts the lives of a working-class Stone Age man, his next-door neighbor/best friend, and their families.
Old couple has fostered 1,000 kids, but has no clue they’re all gathered for a surprise
Every now and then there is a story that is so amazingly heartwarming that it must be told. Terry and Anne Panks have just that type of story. Thirty-six years ago the married couple converted a police station into a home large enough to house people in need.
Through selfless love and devotion, they were able to help over 1,000 children through the darkest times of their life. As a thank you, their community decided to do something to give back to the pair.
According to The Sun, Terry and Anne’s heartfelt acts of kindness did not go unnoticed. That is why many people came together to throw them a surprise party with dozens of the children that they helped in attendance. The moment that the surprised couple walks through the door, you can feel the enormous amount of love radiating from them and those that they cared for.
Check out the video below to see the moving moment when this amazing couple was surprised.
