At the end of the day …. “TJOP: The Rat Race Life”!!

~~October 4, 2015~~

A rat race is an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit. It conjures up the image of the futile efforts of a lab rat trying to escape while running around a maze or in a wheel.

“I’m going to enjoy every second, and I’m going to know I’m enjoying it while I’m enjoying it.

Most people don’t live; they just race.

They are trying to reach some goal far away on the horizon, and in the heat of the going they get so breathless and panting that they lose sight of the beautiful, tranquil country they are passing through; and then the first thing they know, they are old and worn out, and it doesn’t make any difference whether they’ve reached the goal or not.”

A thought provoking video

“How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30am by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?”

~~Uploaded on Jun 10, 2011~~

Now’s the moment
to let go
of every burden
that weighs me down

open my mind
all my worries
all my pain

far away
i soar away
i float away
i fly away

i am weightless
being one with
all i am

i’m expanding
take a glance at
the mystery

far away
i soar away
i float away
i fly away …

At the end of the day …. The Piano Guys Series #6!

~~April 14, 2014~~

The Piano Guys are an American musical group consisting of Jon SchmidtSteven Sharp Nelson, Paul Anderson, and Al van der Beek.

They gained popularity through YouTube, where they posted piano and cello renditions of popular songs and classical music. Schmidt and Nelson’s music is accompanied by professional-quality videos shot and edited by Paul Anderson.

Today we are featuring “Cello Wars” from their first CD.

In this Star Wars Parody that took six months to complete, two opponents battle each other by playing the cello with their special light saber bows. These are real musicians playing a compilation of the original Star Wars themes.

“The Piano Guys have another great addition to their roster. This time they’ve chosen to cover Star Wars in all of its Force-fed glory.

In this epic Duel of the Fates, Sith and Jedi battle with their hokey religion and ancient weapons, but with one minor addition … cellos!!! With no further ado, I present to you “Cello Wars”.

This video is almost too awesome. Darth Vader break out his accordion. Who doesn’t love a little Cantina music in the middle of the day? How about the Chewbacca interludes? There’s only one thing this clip needs, and it’s not more cowbell … it’s more Wookie!”

“Music is probably the most common language everyone on earth understands. It’s somewhat in our blood, and we feel a plethora of emotions when we hear music depending on what the song expresses. Lyrics are of course not necessary to feel music, and that is why music is such a universal language. We have seen a massive increase in modern music such as hybrids and remixes between drum & bass, dance and others. Sometimes the remixes can even become more successful online than the original song, so it’s no wonder some people are continuously digging into the mash-up bag to come up with new stuff.

It seems the The Piano Guys have done the same, and they have put their own personal touch on the Star Wars soundtrack. In this really hilarious yet impressive video, you will be introduced to the Star Wars theme song through the awesome take by cellos. There is of course a little twist to the whole thing, but I won’t reveal what that is. I can say this much … Keep an eye on the video at around 2:00, and you will know what I am talking about.

This is yet another one of those videos that I am sure will go viral (if it hasn’t already) in an instant. As always, we want to share these geeky things with you. You really need to check this one out if you are a huge Star Wars fan. It’s called Cello Wars, and it has some rather impressive special effects in it as well. I find it hard to dig up something that will challenge this video in terms of creativity, but as we all know, there is always someone out there who will take things just a little bit farther.”

~~Story behind the song~~

Long ago in a galaxy far, far away…

We bring you CELLO WARS! A result of 6 months of production … our most ambitious undertaking by far! Why Star Wars Cello? Because of our unending admiration of George Lucas, John Williams, and the most EPIC movies and film score ever created. The idea originated when Tel Stewart was editing THE CELLO SONG here:….

As a joke he decided to add light sabers to Steven Sharp Nelson’s bow during the outtakes. Fans cried out for more. Al van der Beek and Steven Sharp Nelson storyboarded the song and the video concept while they were scouting locations for MOONLIGHT ….

But it was Steven Sharp Nelson’s son Eli that was the true inspiration for the project — his enthusiasm for Star Wars, light sabers, and watching his daddy wield one while playing cello fueled the project continually.

We announced CELLO WARS on September 19, 2011 thinking we’d be able to deliver on our promise within a few weeks. We had NO IDEA. 70 days later, more than 7,000 frames, 72 audio tracks, 24 hours of filming through the night in front of a green screen, the most props and costumes we’ve ever used, several broken bows and strings, and over 1,000 hours of editing and rendering — we felt like we had taken on the entire EMPIRE!

Tel Stewart is THE MAN. He is the reason this worked. He is the man behind the green screen — behind the editing bay — behind all the cool effects. He had to edit every single frame in order to make the light sabers work (a total of over 7,000 frames)! We now have a Piano Guys Hall of Fame and he was recently the first inductee.
