ONE YEAR AGO TODAY

I can’t believe how fast time flies.

A year ago we received the news of Prince passing.

He was found in Paisley Park, lifeless.

Many theories were presented, many half truths, many rumors.

No matter the reason, a huge musical giant, an amazing musician, a masterful influence was gone.

He crossed his ‘Purple Bridge”.

And left his many fans behind!

From a Facebook Member, Josie Fletcher … had to share!
Prince isn’t dead … he just hopped on his “Little Red Corvette” … with his “Raspberry Beret” … drove off through the “Purple Rain“, over “Graffiti Bridge” … under the “Cherry Moon“, partying like it’s “1999” … because this is what happens “When Doves Cry“!!

~IN HER OWN WORDS~

IOTD” is image of the day, a concept I came up with. I teach visual meditative therapy – or in easy terms – a mini mental holiday. For some people it is very difficult for them to get their image right. I post an image a day for people to use in their mini mental vacay. Some are serious, some are silly, and some are just beautiful!”

~~March 8, 2015~~

I have always admired Elton John. From his early days when he collaborated with Bernie Taupin, to his progress with awesome piano playing, to his ballads, to his work in “The Lion King“, “Billy Elliot” and “Aida“.

I admire him for his openly “coming out” and marrying his partner David and for starting a family.

I had a chance to watch his concert last night. It was inspiring, captivating and simply awesome. He sang for almost 3 full hours. It was all “business” … hit after hit after hit! It was clear that his intention was to entertain his fans to his full ability.

Incredible job ….. more to come, we hope from:

~SIR ELTON JOHN~

One of the most successful musicians ever, Elton John has had a tremendous impact on music, popular culture and fashion. Wearing flashy costumes and oversized glasses, John hit the music scene in the seventies and hasn’t looked back. His songs are all over the radio, television and movies, his influence can be seen in nearly all artists and Elton tickets are a virtual lock to sell out.

Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in London, England, on March 25, 1947. He has always had incredible talent in music, taking piano lessons at the age of seven and turning those lessons into a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music four years later. Over the next few years, John honed his skills as a pianist as well as a lyricist, and in 1967 he responded to an ad for Liberty Records.

It was then that he met lyricist Bernie Taupin, and the two struck up a partnership that launched John’s career.

Each of the first three albums that John released in the U.S., Elton John (1970),Tumbleweed Connection (1970) and Madman Across the Water (1971), all charted in the Top 10. Over the course of his career, John has produced a string of hits, including “Tiny Dancer,” “Benny and the Jets,” “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word,” and “Rocket Man.”

John has also contributed to film and theater. In 1994, he collaborated with Tim Rice to produce much of the soundtrack for the 1994 Disney classic Lion King and its musical counterpart. He also produced the music for Billy Elliot, Lestat, and Aida.

Now over forty years and 250 million albums sold later, Elton John can safely say he is a rock legend and will be remembered for years to come. John has won five Grammy Awards over his career, including two awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

~~Your Song~~

~~Uploaded on Jan 25, 2007~~

It’s a little bit funny this feeling inside
I’m not one of those who can easily hide
I don’t have much money but boy if I did
I’d buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it’s not much but it’s the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one’s for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it’s done

I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you’re in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they’ve got me quite cross
But the sun’s been quite kind while I wrote this song
It’s for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen
