The norms, the standards, the beliefs, the expectations, the behavior, the basic goodness I grew up with; the values instilled in me by my parents, my teachers, my role models, my guides are being shaken to the core.

I feel the ground shaking under my feet. I’m losing my moorings. I’m questioning what is happening around me.

Evil things are happening and there’s no check on them.

Seems evil is winning a ferocious battle and I was taught that good would always prevail.

Will it?

When I have no words, tears come to my eyes and express that pain.

Need I say more?

I was in Puerto Rico last week.

I returned on Tuesday, May 29, that was the day when I became aware of the results of this study.

I knew this was true even after the first few days after Hurricane María battered the Island.

I will never forget or forgive the current American administration or the current Puerto Rican administration for the totally inadequate response to this disaster.

The conditions back home aren’t adequate still.

Uncle Sam, there’s Puerto Rican blood on your hands. 

The mighty, imperialistic US of A doesn’t care about it’s colony.

The Puerto Rican government is as corrupt as the American one.

4,645 Puerto Ricans, (so far), paid the ultimate price!

Some of you may know, others not.

I am a fan of tattoos, having a few of them myself.

I’m also Puerto Rican, born and raised, living in the mainland.

Since September 20, 2017, when Hurricane María battered and almost flattened my country, my personal feelings have come to the surface.

My heart and soul ache for Puerto Rico.

It’s been a week today since I visited my tattoo artist for add ons, updates, coloring and completion.

Colors, shading, The ‘cemí’, the hibiscus flowers, the ‘Taíno coquí’ and the ‘Taíno sun‘ were completed.

The process is almost totally done.

Only minor details for the last sitting.

My tattoo artist, Barefoot Stacy, is amazing!

Here it is!

This is a proud Boricua woman, holding her head up high, ready to hold her stand and give the good fight.

This happens in Puerto Rico every minute of every day.

The fortitude of the Puerto Rican woman has been tested during the trying times since Hurricane María battered the Island on September 20, 2018, a bit beyond six months ago today.

I wanted to share another ‘almost complete’ result with you today.

 More will follow as it’s totally done.

In a Heartbeat tells the heartwarming story of Sherwin, a closeted middle school student, whose heart literally pops out of his chest to chase the boy of his dreams.

The long-awaited short film has been receiving loads of attention even before its release earlier July 31, 2017.

Creators Beth David and Esteban Bravo launched a Kickstarter last year for $3,000 to produce the film and were shocked when they went $11,000 over their goal. And it's easy to see why! Beautifully animated and scored, In a Heartbeat tugs at all the right heartstrings.

It was incredibly important for Beth and Esteban to tell a gay love story.

"Being gay is a subject that hasn't been wildly explored in computer animation," they explained in their Kickstarter video.

"We want to put out a message of love and self-acceptance to all the kids and young people who struggle to identify with LGBT+, just like Sherwin does."

The heart wants what it wants.

Drumpf Kicks Transgender Persons Out Of The Military And Becomes The Most Despised President Ever

Drumpf announced on Wednesday morning, July 26, that transgender individuals would no longer be allowed to serve in the military. With one swoop, Drumpf went overwhelmingly against popular opinion and solidified his place as the most out of touch and despised president in history.

Trump’s move wasn’t about victory or the military.

It was all about throwing his slipping base a bone.

Drumpf is falling faster than a rock in the polls, so he is doing everything that he can to hold on to his declining base of support.
A majority of Americans oppose discriminatory laws such as bathroom bills towards transgender individuals. Drumpf’s move is a step backward for civil rights, and another effort to erase the progress and achievements of the Obama presidency.

The LGBTQ community warned that Drumpf would take this type of action if he won the election, and their warnings are being proven correct. Drumpf isn’t trying to make America great. He never intended to.

He is trying to undo progress and take America back to an uglier time.

It won’t work. Progress always wins in the end.

Quick wrap-up of the bill:

There have been no public hearings.

There’s no final text.
There’s no updated CBO score.
It is opposed by virtually every patient advocacy group and everyone in the health care industry.
Congress is still exempted from the new rules that allow states to waive essential benefits.
It raises premiums dramatically for older people.
It removes Obamacare’s protection against being turned down for a pre-existing condition.
It would steadily gut Medicaid spending for the very poorest.
It removes coverage from at least 24 million people, probably more.
It slashes taxes on the rich by about a trillion dollars over ten years.

This is a depraved piece of legislation

It’s a windfall for the rich and promises nothing but misery for the poor. How is it possible that 90% of House Republicans are happily voting in favor of this moral abomination?
