P!nk has long been an open book. The high-flying pop star has never shied away from exposing who she really is to her fans and in the new Apple Music-exclusive video for her single “Whatever You Want” she takes fans all the way backstage, and into the backyard, for an intimate look at her personal life.

The clip opens with P!nk in the recording session for the song and then segues into a montage of the singer being playful backstage during tour rehearsals, some cute moments with her kids and a few stolen kisses with husband Carey Hart.

The clip is, really, an homage to their love story, featuring archival footage of his motorcross triumphs and her instantly legendary 2017 MTV VMAs speech honoring their daughter Willow.

And yes, because she’s P!nk she also includes that bit before she sang the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl where she spit out her cough drop, plus tons of aerial footage.

PUERTO RICO UPDATE

​”AN EXERCISE IN SURVIVIAL”

This is a post written by my very dear friend Suzy P., who currently lives in Illinois. She spent plenty years in Puerto Rico while her husband Grant worked there.

Suzy absorbed the Puerto Rican culture and ways as second nature. 

Today, from a distance, she feels like we do.

Her soul and her heart ache as much as mine.

Today, Oct 6th, Grant and I finally heard from Grant’s former boss in Moca, Puerto Rico. Frank was the plant manager for the Baxter Fenwal plant in San Germán for many years.

Frank is one of the most calm, capable, resourceful men that we know.

Grant spoke to Frank the night before Hurricane Maria hit and he was well prepared for the hurricane.

He tells us today that the past two weeks have been truly an exercise in survival.

Here is the series of text messages we got from Frank today

“Devastation here. No drinking water, running generator, gas supply (on the island) still stabilizing, cell signal now intermittent. We are OK. Bank access limited. Supermarkets having generator issues.

These first two weeks have been an exercise in survival.

Prioritization, focus, luck.”

“Difficult environment. Eye passed over Moca, 35 minutes, second half horrible. Wind damage extensive in all west coast towns, Aguada, Aguadilla, flooding on coasts, massive erosion.

I’ve lost 11 pounds. Dehydration.

Nightmare scenario – we got nuked.

People helping each other.”

“I have never seen or felt anything like this. During the height of the storm, I thought a few times we were history. It felt like a concussive force. And it wouldn’t stop. Rincón sustained significant damage.

Downed power lines, land slides, flooding.

Roads still marginal.”

After Grant offered to come down and help, Frank wrote:

“Don’t come here, you’ll never get out”.

(Some airlines report they have waiting lists of over 20,000 people wanting to leave the island).

Please keep Puerto Rico’s ongoing humanitarian crisis in the news.

Melania Trump takes on critics in interview with Randy Rainbow

Melania Trump sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper for her first interview since the release of the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape, where her husband can be heard bragging about committing sexually assault on women.

Cooper pressed Donald Trump during the second presidential debate on whether he understood that what he described in the footage was sexual assault, which Trump would not concede.

Cooper then asked if he had ever done any of the things he described, to which he said he had not. This denial to an audience of millions prompted a number of women to come forward with allegations claiming otherwise.

Trump denies the allegations against him.

The interview has its stunning moments, like Melania arguing that Donald’s so-called “locker room talk” was just because he is, you know, like your average teenage boy …who just so happened to be nearly 60 at the time.

The 2016 election has been so absurd that it is both all too easy to mock and yet hard to match in its own right

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOM

My mother had me when she was forty years old. I wasn’t a late child, I was one in a “string” of seven. Of those seven, she was able to carry only four to term. Of those four, she lost one the day after he was born and she lost another one 4 days before he turned one. The other three were miscarriages.

My Mother was a very strong woman. She was born in Puerto Rico in 1910 …. a time when there was unrest during the establishment of the American presence in the Island and all that it entailed.

She herself lost her Mom at the tender age of nine. She was the only girl in a family of three boys and a brother from another mother (sadly called “bastard” at that time).

From her stories, she was raised by her godmother, a lady who seemed to be quite the disciplinarian and maybe abusive when using current terms.

In spite of it all, she went to school and college. She became an outstanding teacher. She moved to New York City in the early 1930’s … and met my Father there. They were married in 1934 and remained together for 64 years.

She lived a full life. Stopped working as a teacher when she had me. “I will always be a teacher”, she used to say. She traveled to South America, on her own, for trips related to a subject dear to her heart: “Cooperativismo”. She was a staunch Catholic, very active in her church. She taught Spanish to all the American priests who arrived. She was an incredible seamstress and made beautiful pieces for the church’s altar and huge “estandartes” to be carried during the religious processions.

To top it all, she took excellent care of her husband and the two children she had: my older brother (first born) and me.

When she was 47, she underwent open-heart surgery (1957) …. a big deal back then. She made medical history by being the first open-heart surgery done in a private hospital in Puerto Rico.

In 1989, changes started surfacing that marked the beginning of the end. She developed progressive memory loss, became bedridden, regressed slowly in an almost childlike state (diapers, bottle feedings, all around care). The last ten years of her life went by so fast. She passed on at the age of 89 only remembering the name of the love of her life: my Dad: Pepo.

I haven’t been table to tell her how beautiful she is since then.

MOM, TODAY I TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE STILL ON MY MIND AND IN MY HEART. NEVER FORGOTTEN AND FOREVER THANKFUL.
