I finally saw ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

It was an enthralling, amazing and heartwarming movie.

It was a warm surprise to hear the song while the credits rolled.

Céline was singing!

It was even better then.

What would Beauty and the Beast be without Céline Dion?

The songbird contributed the 1991 animated film’s soundtrack, singing the pop version of the title track with Peabo Bryson.

(Angela Lansbury recorded the film version).

Bryson and Dion’s duet won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, reaching No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

With the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast premiering March 17 (starring Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Dan Stevens and Emma Watson), veteran composer Alan Menken asked Dion to sing another original ballad.

The song, “How Does a Moment Last Forever,” plays over the end titles.

~Dolly Parton Joins Miley Cyrus, Pentatonix In ‘Jolene’ Cover~

On Tuesday night’s, Novermber 29, star-studded episode of “The Voice,” country music legend Dolly Parton joined Miley Cyrus and band Pentatonix on stage for an a-capella performance of Parton’s 1973 song “Jolene”.

Clad in black and silver, Parton took center stage as she stood next to goddaughter Cyrus on the arced stage. Both have previously performed the song together, most notably at the 25th anniversary of Dollywood in 2010.

Pentatonix released a recording of the song in September, with Parton herself featured on the record. The band also performed the song with singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles at the 2016 Country Music Awards earlier this month, as a tribute to the famed singer.

I must confess that I’m not as familiar with country music as I am with other genres.

However, good music is good music no matter where it comes from.

This song definitely has the ‘chill factor’.

I know some of the singers but not all of them.

Country stars amass in ‘Forever Country’ video for 50th CMA Awards

Half a century ago, the Country Music Assn. in Nashville handed out awards for the first time. So began a tradition that continues to grow five decades on.

To mark the occasion, the CMA has assembled its own all-star video, “Forever Country,” which premiered Tuesday night, September 20, on “Dancing With the Stars” and features 30 current and veteran country acts.

Among the participants: Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, Kacey Musgraves, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban ,Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Alan Jackson.

They’ve teamed with the rest of the “Forever Country” participants in a mash-up of three classics: Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected.
