Clinton’s campaign delivered a speech in San Diego. It drew draw a clear line between the former secretary of state’s plans and those outlined by Trump, which include having Mexico pay for a border wall that its president, Enrique Peña Nieto, said his country would not support, and temporarily banning Muslims from entering the US.

Clinton campaign senior policy adviser Jake Sullivan said the speech would outline why Trump was “fundamentally unfit” to be president.

“And you will hear in her speech a confidence in America and our capacity to overcome the challenges we face while staying true to our values – a strong contrast to Donald Trump’s incessant trash-talking of America,” Sullivan said.

Clinton’s campaign has steered its plan of attack towards Trump while fending off the other remaining Democratic hopeful, Bernie Sanders.

And it’s amazing.

This is a very urgent matter. Time is rolling by, no actions are forthcoming. There’s a tsunami headed for Puerto Rico and people are idly standing by.

I can’t stress enough how important this is.

“A commonwealth with not a lot of wealth and not quite nation … 3.5 American civilians are on the hook for billions.

The ‘Hamilton‘ star debuted an original rap about the debt crisis on ‘Last Week Tonight’.

Puerto Rico is in a desperate state of crisis as time is running out on the May 1 deadline to restructure its $70 billion debt. Making matters worse, as John Oliver explained on Sunday’s Last Week Tonight, they can’t file for bankruptcy due to an unexplainable, tiny provision in a 1984 law.

But Oliver wasn’t alone in detailing the urgency of the situation — he had a little help from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

“We need to stop treating Puerto Rico like it’s just a tax haven or a place to have terrifying sex with a stranger in a coconut mask, and instead, we have to start treating it like an island of American citizens whose fate is interwoven with ours,” Oliver summarized about 19 minutes into his segment.

“And, look, there are certainly better voices than mine to speak on behalf of Puerto Rico.

Luckily, there is someone with Puerto Rican parents and an amazing voice,” he added before introducing Miranda himself, who performed an entirely new rap dedicated to the situation.

There was plenty of crazy material from the Republicans this week and in order to cover as much of their embarrassing antics as possible, NBC’s Saturday Night Live broke with their usual format and jammed four openings on their show last night.

The result was a series of hilarious and stinging skits.

SNL tackled Trump’s viral Super Tuesday victory speech in which New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stands behind the Republican front-runner — an awkward moment that had Twitter wondering if Christie was being held hostage.

“The media is saying they haven’t seen anything like this, not since Germany in the 1930’s,” actor Darrel Hammond’s Donald Trump says alongside Bobby Moynihan’s timid Chris Christie. “I mean, everyone loves me. Racists. Ugly racists. People who didn’t even know they were racists … I even have this fat piece of crap behind me now.”

“I mean, he really is a sad, desperate little potato back there. Aren’t you Chris?” Hammond adds. “Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Please, sir, may I have another?” Moynihan responds.

In another scene, Jason Sudeikis portrayed Mitt Romney to say how he probably didn’t change the minds of any Trump supporters after delivering his “aggressive, passionate, well measured anti-Trump speech.”

It all began with Beck Bennett as Jake Tapper when he hosted the week-in-review montage which highlighted Darrell Hammond as Donald Trump telling the world how great he his with a bewildered looking Chris Christie, played by Bobby Moynihan, staring in the background. Hammond-as-Trump said:

“I really am running the best campaign, aren’t I? The media’s saying they haven’t seen anything like this, not since Germany in the 1930’s. I mean, everyone loves me: racists, ugly racists, people who didn’t know they were racist.”

Then it was the hilarious Kate McKinnon playing Hillary Clinton giving a victory speech for her post-Super Tuesday victory:

“Thank you for trusting that I, Hillary Clinton, can bring this country together. Just like I brought these ten black people and one Muslim person together behind me tonight for this speech.”

Then it was Bennett-as-Tapper interviewing Ted Cruz, played by Taran Killam, but not before a warning for the audience that they were about to see Ted Cruz’s “whole face.” Asked about Thursday’s GOP debate, Killam-as-Cruz said:

“The debate was so much fun. I talked policy, I laid out my plan for America, and right at the end I ate a tiny, little white booger off my lip.”

Then finally Mitt Romney, played by Jason Sudeikis, joined Bennet-as-Tapper to discuss Donald Trump:

“For the last nine months, I’ve sat down and watched Donald Trump say something every day that was either racist or sexist. And we in the GOP … we do not say racist and sexist things; we imply them subtly over decades and decades of policy.”

Today I need soothing. Today I need peace.

Today I need beauty.

As I read the posts on the blogs I follow, as I read the newspaper (extremely rarely), as I watch the news (not that much anymore), as I interact with some friends and family, I feel the way that we treat each other.

It doesn’t look good.

The greed is ever present. The wars continue. The inequality and discrimination continues. The stupidity of those in office & those wanting to be in office continues. The killings continue.

The destruction of our Earth continues.

I strongly believe that all of us want better. I strongly believe that all of us need soothing.

Beauty and Nature soothes me.

This is what is could and should be.

Let’s not stand back and not do anything. We all can do something. We need to reclaim our humanity, our spirit and our goodness.

How can we do that?

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.
