We have a mission, a mandate, and a moral obligation to speak up and speak out until the House votes to address gun violence.

We have turned deaf ears to the blood of the innocent and the concern of our nation. We will use nonviolence to fight gun violence and inaction.

Democratic representative John Lewis called his colleagues to join him as he spoke on the House floor Wednesday< June 22, afternoon.

A few dozen traveled down the aisles and fanned out on either side of Lewis’s podium as he began:

“What would bring this body to take action? What would finally make Congress do what is right, what is just, what the people of this country have been demanding, and what is long overdue? We have lost hundreds of thousands of innocent people to gun violence.”

Lewis, who fought on the front lines of the civil-rights movement, delivered an impassioned speech about the need for action — for House Speaker Paul Ryan to simply allow a vote — on gun-control measures.

I AM ANTI-TRUMP

I have been since the first time he announced he was running in the 2016 Presidential race.

Aside from the fact that I never really liked him, his TV shows, his attacks on Rosie O’Donnell, his comments about how “great” he is … I never liked the guy.

This country is now at a decisive moment in time.

He’s the proverbial “bull in the china shop“.

I can’t understand the thinking process of his followers.

Granted, we are all sick of the current two party system. Mostly we are sick and tired of the inaction of the elected officials since President Obama was elected.

It’s been eight years of “nothing”.

No significant legislation has been passed during this time.

It’s been eight years of total obstruction and corruption at many levels.

However, choosing this man is like cutting your nose to spite your face.

“Cutting off the nose to spite the face” is an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem.

I am an American citizen.

I thought more of America.

I thought more about it’s people. I expect more.

I hope I’m not proven wrong.

Tomorrow is another anniversary of 9-11

I’ve been watching TV tonight, something I don’t do frequently. I get most of my information through the posts here, in the blogosphere. It’s really interesting how fast news are spread here than through the news channels.

Tonight is a night where I have no words. All I have is raw feelings.

personal situations

envy, jealousy, hate

education, health, infrastructure

state of many cities in our country

state of our country

domestic violence

society’s values and priorities

fanaticism

state of the world

pollution, waste, lack of,discrimination, persecution, inequality, displacement, abuse, prejudice, ignorance, moral values, inaction, conflicts, wars, killings … you add your own.

A very good friend just told me:

“”We stand for freedom, for justice, for dignity.These are values that have guided our nation since its founding.” Except Here In America. DO NOT ask Americans to fight for foreign freedoms when Americans are NOT free in America.”

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability. Currently working on an enterprise whose main mission will be to bring peoples of all walks of life together. To be one .... since we ALL are ONE!! The future looks bright and promising!!!
