At the end of the day …. “What has our country become?”

~~September 10, 2014~~

Tomorrow is another anniversary of 9-11

I’ve been watching TV tonight, something I don’t do frequently. I get most of my information through the posts here, in the blogosphere. It’s really interesting how fast news are spread here than through the news channels.

Tonight is a night where I have no words. All I have is raw feelings.

personal situations

envy, jealousy, hate

education, health, infrastructure

state of many cities in our country

state of our country

domestic violence

society’s values and priorities

fanaticism

state of the world

pollution, waste, lack of,discrimination, persecution, inequality, displacement, abuse, prejudice, ignorance, moral values, inaction, conflicts, wars, killings … you add your own.

A very good friend just told me:

“”We stand for freedom, for justice, for dignity. These are values that have guided our nation since its founding.” Except Here In America. DO NOT ask Americans to fight for foreign freedoms when Americans are NOT free in America.”

These are some of the recent post that have come my way tonight. They are excellent. Stop and read. Get another perspective

“Coming Out Of The Dark”

Why be afraid if I’m not alone
Though life is never easy the rest is unknown
Up to now for me it’s been hands against stone
Spent each and every moment
Searching for what to believe

Coming out of the dark, I finally see the light now
It’s shining on me
Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me
You’re sharing with me

Starting again is part of the plan
And I’ll be so much stronger holding your hand
Step by step I’ll make it through I know I can
It may not make it easier but I have felt you
Near all the way

Coming out of the dark, i finally see the light now
It’s shining on me
Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me
You’re sharing with me

Forever, forever I stand on the rock of your love
Forever I’ll stand on the rock
Forever, forever I stand on the rock of your love
Love is all it takes, no matter what we face

Coming out of the dark, i finally see the light now
It’s shining on me
Coming out of the dark I know the love that saved me
You’re sharing with me

To start the day … Namaste, always a good reminder!!

~~July 30, 2014~~

Namaste, sometimes expressed as Namaskar or Namaskaram, is a customary greeting when individuals meet or farewell. It is a form of greeting commonly found among people of South Asia, in some Southeast Asian countries, and diaspora from these regions. Namaste is spoken with a slight bow and hands pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards, thumbs close to the chest. This gesture is called Añjali Mudrā or Pranamasana. In Hinduism it means “I bow to the divine in you.”

Namaste or namaskar is used as a respectful form of greeting, acknowledging and welcoming a relative, guest or stranger. It is used with good byes as well. It is typically spoken and simultaneously performed with palms touching gesture, but it may also be spoken without acting it out or performed wordlessly; all three carry the same meaning. This cultural practice of salutation and valediction originated in the Indian subcontinent.

“I honor the place in you

in which the entire Universe dwells.

I honor the place in you

which is of love, of truth, of light

And of Peace.

When you are in that place in you

And I am in that place in me

We are one.”

If only we could live by these words …..

We would recognize there is the Universe in each one. There is love, truth, light and Peace inside that place in all.

There would be no need or room for hate, greed, evil, wars, crime, bigotry, prejudice, differences, jealousy, persecution, intolerance, lies, pride, deceit or separation.

We would be one because we would follow the “Golden Rule” to a “T”.

The Golden Rule or ethic of reciprocity is a maxim, ethical code or morality that essentially states either of the following:

One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.

In the Book of Proverbs 6:16-19, among the verses traditionally associated with King Solomon, it states that the Lord specifically regards “six things the Lord hateth, and seven that are an abomination unto Him”, namely:

A proud look
A lying tongue
Hands that shed innocent blood
A heart that devises wicked plots
Feet that are swift to run into mischief
A deceitful witness that uttereth lies
Him that soweth discord among brethren
