Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you mus know by know that Jimmy Kimmel told his family’s personal story about the birth of his brand new son, Billy.

It’s fitting that this be shared because today, the USA’s House of Representatives, lead by Paul Ryan, are claiming to vote on the third attempt at ‘repeal-replace’ the Affordable Health Care Act.

Here’s What Republicans Are Voting For on Thursday, May 4

Quick wrap-up of the bill:

There have been no public hearings.

There’s no final text.
There’s no updated CBO score.
It is opposed by virtually every patient advocacy group and everyone in the health care industry.
Congress is still exempted from the new rules that allow states to waive essential benefits.
It raises premiums dramatically for older people.
It removes Obamacare’s protection against being turned down for a pre-existing condition.
It would steadily gut Medicaid spending for the very poorest.
It removes coverage from at least 24 million people, probably more.
It slashes taxes on the rich by about a trillion dollars over ten years.

This is a depraved piece of legislation

It’s a windfall for the rich and promises nothing but misery for the poor. How is it possible that 90% of House Republicans are happily voting in favor of this moral abomination?

Back in 2013 we conducted an experiment on our show. We went out on the street and asked people which was better: Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act.

Obamacare is of course just a nickname for the Affordable Care Act. They’re the same thing.

So with all the attention now on this subject, we decided to ask this question again to see if Americans have learned anything over the last three years.

When people are shouting ‘white power’ at his rallies and Trump is endorsed by the Daily Stormer, the joke is over.
It has been more than two months since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president, and slowly but surely the entertainment factor as been on the wane and the fear factor has been on the rise.

As his poll numbers steadily keep him in a comfortable first place in the crowded GOP field, and he packs stadiums — receiving raucous applause in Alabama and along the Mexican border — his fiery and divisive rhetoric has taken on a new meaning. His positions have now become the focal point of the GOP field and all candidates must respond to Trump before they can proceed.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.
