Breaking with two centuries of political tradition, Drumpf didn’t ask Americans to place their trust in each other or in God, but rather, in Trump.

Has any American political leader claimed so directly to embody the nation, to speak for it, to be its sole hope for redemption?

The most striking aspect of his speech wasn’t his delivery, even though his tone often strayed over the line, from emphatic to strident. It wasn’t the specific policies he outlined, long fixtures of his stump speech. It was the extraordinary spectacle of a man standing on a podium, elevated above the surrounding crowd, telling the millions of Americans who were watching that he, alone, could solve their problems.

America and Americans have been know for their kind actions in benefit of others (so they claim).

Nevertheless, this belief is shattered as we see the heartlessness in the deportment of these undocumented Americans who do not fall under the category of criminals, drug dealers and the like.

Take into account the story of Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos.

As I write this, the phrase ‘cut your nose to spite your face’ comes to mind.

Garcia de Rayos came illegally to the United States from Guanajuato, Mexico, in the mid-1990’s with her parents when she was 14. She was arrested in 2008 in a workplace raid at Golfland Sunsplash, a waterpark in Mesa, Arizona.
She was convicted in March 2009 of criminal impersonation for having a fake Social Security number, a sixth-degree felony.

A four-month-old Iranian girl, scheduled to fly into Portland for a heart surgery appointment at OHSU had to postpone the procedure after Drumpf’s immigration order.

The infant, Fatemah, has a heart condition. Her family found out about it at a routine checkup, and her pediatricians say she needs to have surgery soon.

“They said ‘this is a miracle, we don’t know how she had lived with the big problem she had.’ Immediately she has to do the surgery,” her uncle, Samad Taghizadeh , told KATU News.

Taghizadeh lives in Portland with Fatemah’s grandparents; they are American citizens. The family chose to have the open-heart surgery at Oregon Health & Science University – which boasts one of the top pediatric cardiology programs in the U.S. – because facilities in Iran do not have the equipment necessary for such a procedure.
