COMEY CONFIRMS RUSSIA PROBE

FBI Director James Comey Confirms Russia Investigation

The FBI is investigating Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 election, including potential links with the Trump campaign, FBI Director James Comey said Monday, March 20.

Speaking before the House Intelligence Committee, Comey said that he had been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm the investigation publicly “in an extraordinary step” since the agency does not typically do so with open investigations.

“I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part out our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Drumpf campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts,” he said.

National Security Agency Director and Adm. Mike Rogers is also expected to testify about Russian interference in the American election process.

Comey is also was questioned about whether President Drumpf’s claim on Twitter that former President Barack Obama wiretapped his phones at Trump Tower prior to the 2016 election is true.

Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week; hump day. I’m “breaking” the week’s “NatureIsSpeaking” series today even though this is a very uplifting series.

The world continues to be in a perpetual state of war, violence and crime abounds, abuse against minorities continue, the idiotic political campaign (of a certain party) seems unending, the economy continues to be uncertain, Citizens United is still alive and well, social and economical inequality is the sad reality, racism has never left the building and so much more.

It’s time to take a little break and enjoy some humor.

And maybe, I like the fact that his name, Ornie, sounds like mine, Horty.

We’ll be back tomorrow with Mother Nature.

At the end of the day … Playing for change: “What’s going on?”

Playing for Change is a multimedia music project, created by the American producer and sound engineer Mark Johnson with his Timeless Media Group, that seeks to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. Playing For Change also created a separate non-profit organization called the Playing For Change Foundation, which builds music schools for children around the world.

~~Origin~~

Playing For Change was born in 2002 as a shared vision between co-founders, Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenke, to hit the streets of America with a mobile recording studio and cameras in search of inspiration and the heartbeat of the people. Producers Mark Johnson and Enzo Buono, traveled around the world to places including New Orleans, Barcelona, South Africa, India, Nepal, the Middle East and Ireland.

Using mobile recording equipment, the duo recorded local musicians performing the same song, interpreted in their own style. Among the artists participating or openly involved in the project are Vusi Mahlasela, Louis Mhlanga, Clarence Bekker, Tal Ben Ari (Tula), Bono, Keb’ Mo’, David Broza, Manu Chao and Grandpa Elliott. This musical journey resulted in the award-winning documentary, “A Cinematic Discovery of Street Musicians.”

We started this performance with PFC Band members Titi Tsira and Clarence Bekker while on a trip together in Rio de Janeiro. Wherever we traveled we would add more musicians, strings in Serbia, guitar and bass in Chicago, pandeiro in Brazil and the final piece came together with Sara Bareilles’ vocal performance at Washington Square park in NYC.

The message of this song is as strong as ever and it’s up to us to make the change we want to see.

Music can show us the way.
