Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama (born January 17, 1964) is an American lawyer, university administrator, and writer who served as the First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017.

She is married to the 44th U.S. President, Barack Obama, and was the first African-American First Lady.

Raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, Obama is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. In her early legal career, she worked at the law firm Sidley Austin, where she met Barack Obama. She subsequently worked in non-profits and as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago and the Vice President for Community and External Affairs of the University of Chicago Medical Center. Michelle married Barack in 1992 and they have two daughters.

Obama campaigned for her husband’s presidential bid throughout 2007 and 2008, delivering a keynote address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. She returned to speak for him at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

During the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, she delivered a speech in support of the Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, a former First Lady.

Michelle Obama and Ellen Degeneres head to Costco for a Becoming book signing

On November 15, Thursday’s episode of The Ellen Show, the Former First Lady made an impromptu trip to Costco where her new book Becoming just happens to be on sale.

Not one to shy away from attention, DeGeneres was quick to announce Obama’s presence in the store, whipping out a megaphone and yelling,

“We have Michelle Obama! Michelle Obama! She’ll be signing books!” …

as screaming shoppers flocked to meet them.

Despite DeGeneres’ attempts to embarrass Obama, she made up for it by ending with the crowd chanting “We miss the Obamas.” Don’t we all?

It bothers me and makes me quite angry.

I can’t understand why there’s nothing or no one who can stop the idiocy that comes out of the mouth of that FIDIOT!!

The thing is that he’s showing his true colors.

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin Fiercely Defends Black Female Journalists After Drumpf’s Outbursts

The CNN anchor stood up for White House reporters April Ryan, Abby Phillip and Yamiche Alcindor, and called for respect from the ‘so-called’ president.

The targets of ‘so-called’ President Trumpf’s worst outbursts this week were black female reporters, and CNN’s Brooke Baldwin has joined the numerous journalists eviscerating him for it.

On the air Friday, the CNN anchor defended the women the president berated.

They included White House correspondent April Ryan, whom Drumpf called “nasty” and “a loser”; Abby Phillip, who Drumpf said “asks a lot of stupid questions” after she asked him about the Russia investigation; and PBS News Hour’s Yamiche Alcindor, whom Drumpf called “racist” for asking him about nationalism.

The journalists later spoke out about being subjected to Drumpf’s insults.

Baldwin described the women as “consummate professionals.

A-grade.”

“They can take these insults. They don’t need me sticking up for them,” Baldwin said. “But still, there is something so wrong with this. It is beyond disturbing. It is ugly, and I’m angry.”

Two of my favorite people in the world, celebrating together, reminiscing and plainly enjoying each other.

Refreshing to see, soothing to the soul and celebrating with both of them.

Former first lady Michelle Obama offered a passionate appeal for empathy during her first televised interview since leaving the White House a year ago.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, who told the wife of President Barack Obama that she felt frightened after a year of political turmoil, Michelle Obama encouraged anxious Americans to tune out the noise.
And she offered a glimpse into her post-White House life, one she said is more normal than some people might expect.

“We have to be an open-hearted nation and that’s who we are. And that’s the truth of who we are. We can’t lose sight of that. So, let’s just keep living our lives like that every single day and forget what they’re saying in Washington,” the former first lady said in the interview, which airs this week.

“We know who we are and I know who this country is,” she said.

It was a familiar entreaty from one of the most popular national figures in the country. But it came after a period of relative quiet from both her and the former president. Both have been at work on memoirs and have spent the past year traveling and speaking to groups.

In honor of President Barack Obama’s final day in office, Ellen DeGeneres took a moment out of Thursday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, January 19, to pay tribute to him and First Lady Michelle Obama.

“I want to personally thank him for changing my life,” said DeGeneres. “I am a legally married woman because of him, and so is my wife.”

She continued: “His courage and compassion created equality for everyone. He moved us forward and made more happen in the past eight years than I ever dreamed possible. I love him. I love Michelle.”

Then, DeGeneres showed a video compilation of her time with the Obamas over the years. The touching send-off featured everything from Barack’s first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2007 to Barack honoring DeGeneres with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in November.

SAYING GOODBYE IS NEVER EASY

I vividly remember that night in Chicago when this young family walked unto the stage, into a huge crowd of people mesmerized by the fact that Barack Obama had been elected President of the United States.

I remember Michelle’s black and red dress.

I remember the two young girls walking along, hand in hand, with their parents.

What could they have been thinking?

Today is, technically, their last day in the White House.

I’m sure that by now they have already packed and moved along.

It wasn’t a perfect presidency.

Many goals were accomplished, many weren’t.

The fact remains that advancement in many causes was achieved.

I say goodbye, from the heart, to this family who offered their unqualified, sincere service to this country.

Fare thee well, Obamas!

In my heart forever!

Ellen DeGeneres and Michelle Obama had some fun in a taped segment that aired Wednesday, September 14, on DeGeneres’s talk show.

The pair hit up CVS to grab some items to prep the first lady for life after the White House.
Obama appeared set on actually shopping, while DeGeneres played the trip for laughs – teasing customers and insisting on opening a box of wine.

“You are not a good person to shop with,” joked Obama, who will vacate the White House when her husband’s term expires in January.

That didn’t stop DeGeneres from poking fun at the first lady.

She teased her about everything from the latest issue of Essence Magazine, which features a photo spread of the first couple, to a more, um, personal matter.
