INDEPENDENCE AND DIFFERENT AMERICANS 

“Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.

The phrase gives three examples of the “unalienable rights” which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect.

We don’t have to go back to Frederick Douglass’ time or race.

Just look at the current reality in this nation.

African Americans, Muslims, Latinos, Asians and other minorities aren’t totally free and equal.

They aren’t really equal in the eyes of the countrymen.

It won’t be getting any better any time soon!

But some 75 years later, some black Americans weren’t ready to celebrate.

Abolitionist movement leader Frederick Douglass gave a scathing speech the day after Independence Day in 1852, saying:

“This Fourth of July is yours, not mine.

You may rejoice, I must mourn. Do you mean, citizens, to mock me, by asking me to speak to-day?”

Douglass reminded listeners that when the Declaration of Independence was signed, many blacks were still slaves. Even the British were more likely to offer freedom to blacks than the colonists.
Fast forward to 2012 and 2017, where many Black Americans still remember Douglass’ sentiments.

The latest political fashion statement?

The safety pin, an object that’s been adopted in the past by statement-making celebrities and the punk movement.

After the election of Donald J. Trump, fears are growing that segments of his base may physically or emotionally abuse minorities, immigrants, women and members of the LGBT community.

As a show of support, groups of people across America are attaching safety pins to their lapels, shirts and dresses to signify that they are linked, willing to stand up for the vulnerable.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has willingly immersed himself into controversy by refusing to stand for the playing of the national anthem in protest of what he deems are wrongdoings against African Americans and minorities in the United States.

He has continued his refusal to stand for the anthem and has explained his reasons why.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game.

“To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.

There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

He said that he has discussed his feelings with his family and, after months of witnessing some of the civil unrest in the U.S., decided to be more active and involved in rights for black people.

Kaepernick, who is biracial, was adopted and raised by white parents and siblings.

The matter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump‘s military service (or lack thereof) has surfaced twice so far in this election cycle, first in July 2015 when Trump maligned Sen. John McCain, a POW during the Vietnam War, for being captured, and a second time in July 2016 when he openly feuded with the family of slain U.S. soldier Humayun Khan after Khan’s father, Khizr, criticized Trump during an appearance at the Democratic National Convention.

From a dear and beloved member of humanity.

Bear in mind, this is only a personal opinion.

 How do you deport 11 million people?

I mean how do you bring such an insidious plan to fruition?. I imagine it takes some organizing .. a plan.

I foresee the only “effective” mechanism is rooted in history.
Trump will prepare enough cattle car trains to transport 11 million.

While he rounds up the 11 million, he will need a place to intern them; not enough prisons. Yes, I see camps as his only option. Otherwise how else will he ensure the deportation?

Before that he will need a special police force to drag them out of their homes to transport to central camps.

In summary, he needs

1) special cops

2) trains

3) camps

Sounds familiar?

The only difference is the cops will have DT on their shirt lapels instead of SS and the train cars will all be embossed with 24 caract gold lettering reading “TRUMP“.

Any doubt he has a Nazi mindset?

Wasn’t that vile man whose name began with an H a megalomaniac too?

Up to this point, it has been services that one can do without or receive at any gay friendly facility. These are services that are not absolutely necessary for our well-being. These services are not immediately needed. There’s time to look at other places.

However, what if the bigotry, discrimination, lunacy reaches levels where your life would be dependent on the services required or needed?

Has anyone stopped to think about this? Has anyone considered this option?

it will be definitely different when it touches you or one of yours.
