Social action organization Global Citizen somehow just made Adele’s hit song “Hello” even better
In a new video published this February, Global Citizen re-imagines Adele’s “Hello” as a call to Congress to protest President Drumpf’s executive orders. The video features an Adele look-a-like wearing a fur coat belting out tunes with the wind in her hair, singing into a phone … the lyrics are just a bit different.

“Hello, it’s me. I was wondering if you had some time to support refugees,” the woman sings into a flip phone.

“We can go over everything. Like how they aren’t terrorists, they’re only frightened folks in need.”

The chorus is possibly the best part

“Hello from the other side! If I have to, I’ll call a thousand times! Til you listen to us, we’ll never leave you alone. But when I call Paul Ryan, he never seems to be home.”

By this time, I suspect, most of the country is aware of the decision made by the current administration.

This is  a thorny topic.

I’m aware that some aren’t capable of understanding the ripple effect after such a decision.

The states’ rights argument is particularly shitty in this case, because the crux of that argument is you can choose to live in a state that reflects your personal values, but if you’re a transgender teenager in Montgomery, you can’t just uproot and leave Alabama because the fat dip-shit two lockers down from you is afraid of the future.

That ain’t how it works!
As he suggests, right-wingers always have a new group to hate on, and they keep at it until it starts to hurt their own numbers. All the more reason to hammer home the fact that conservative Christianity is now synonymous with bigotry.

And Christians who are silent or supportive of them are complicit in the problem.

FBI Assassinates Puerto Rican Nationalist Leader Filiberto Ojeda Ríos

EL GRITO DE LARES & FILIBERTO OJEDA RIOS

September 23 has a deep, double meaning for Puerto Ricans.

It is the anniversary of El Grito de Lares, when nearly 1,000 men – many of them slaves – revolted against the Spanish on Sept. 23, 1868.

It is also the anniversary of the death of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos, who was shot – and forced to bleed to death – by the FBI on Sept. 23, 2005.

~War Against All Puerto Ricans~

Longtime Puerto Rican nationalist leader Filiberto Ojeda Rios was killed by the FBI.

The shooting occurred Friday after FBI agents surrounded a house where he was staying. According to an autopsy, Rios bleed to death after being hit with a single bullet.

Officials didn’t enter his home many hours after he was shot.

The FBI claimed the 72-year-old Ojeda Rios fired first but independence activists accused the FBI of assassinating him.

For the past four decades Ojeda Rios had been a leading figure in the fight for Puerto Rican independence and against U.S. colonial rule.

In 1967 he founded and led the Armed Revolutionary Independence Movement.

He was later a key organizer with the FALN, the Armed Forces of National Liberation and then the Boricua Popular Army, also known as the Los Macheteros.

A sharpshooter, located on high ground, maybe in a helicopter, shot him. It was a single bullet through his neck or an area near the face.

He fell, and then for 12 straight hours, the F.B.I. refused to enter or let anyone enter the house waiting for Filiberto Ojeda Rios to bleed to death, which was exactly what the coroner certified the morning after the shooting:

Filiberto Ojeda Rios died of a single wound.

There was active bleeding caused by the projectile.

The bleeding lasted hours.

Filiberto didn’t receive any medical or any other help.

So, once again, it is clear this was a political assassination.

On September 23, 2005, Filiberto Ojeda Ríos, was killed in Puerto Rico by US police forces.

Eight years after his death, he is remembered for his career as an insurgent. He founded the Boricua Popular Army also known as the “Macheteros” who fought for a decolonized, dignified and free Puerto Rico.

The US government persecuted him for more than a decade and accused him of being a terrorist.

Jeremy Hammond (born January 8, 1985) is a political activist and computer hacker from Chicago. He was convicted and sentenced in November 2013 to 10 years in US Federal Prison for hacking the private intelligence firm Stratfor and releasing the leaks through the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks. He founded the computer security training website HackThisSite in 2003.

Computer Security

Hammond founded the computer security training website HackThisSite at age 18, during the summer after his high school graduation.

The website describes itself as “a non-profit organization that strives to protect a good security culture and learning atmosphere”.

In its first two years the site got 2.5 million hits and acquired 110,000 members and a volunteer staff of 34. As of September 2013, the website has a user base of over 1,800,000.

“Jeremy is one of the best, most helpful guys I have ever talked to”, wrote HackThisSite user Brandon Perry of Texas. “He is a good guy that only taught ethical hacking”.

During the 2004 DEF CON event in Las Vegas, Hammond delivered a talk that encouraged “electronic civil disobedience” as a means of protest against the annual Republican National Convention and its supporters.
