Gay Duo Superfruit Celebrates Gender Fluidity In “Worth It (Perfect)” Video

The pop duo’s latest candy-colored fantasy features talented teen dancers Kaycee Rice and Sage Rosen, who gleefully dance together after choosing gender-nonconforming costumes.

Superfruit vocalists Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying teased the video by posting photos of themselves in the same suit and pink dress.

Cover of Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’

The five-member a capella group Pentatonix has released a new music video featuring their own arrangement of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” on April 24.

The somber yet beautiful rendition is one of the seven tracks released from their latest album, PTX Vol. IV – Classics.

The simple video, set against a black backdrop, focuses on the group, as the camera pans to each singer in a circle while their voices are woven in and out together by the melody.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is a song by the British rock band Queen. It was written by Freddie Mercury for the band’s 1975 album A Night at the Opera.

It is a six-minute suite, consisting of several sections without a chorus: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda.

The song is a more accessible take on the 1970’s progressive rock genre. It was reportedly the most expensive single ever made at the time of its release, though the exact cost of production cannot be determined.

THAT’S CHRISTMAS TO ME

That’s Christmas to Me is the third studio album by a cappella group Pentatonix.

It is their sixth release overall and their second holiday release following their 2012 EP PTXmas.

It only features previously unreleased material (except “Let It Go”, a bonus track of the Japanese Edition of Vols. 1 & 2).

It was released on October 21, 2014 through RCA Records, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The album is named after the eponymous song by Pentatonix, the only original song featured on the album. By year’s end, December 31, 2014, according to Billboard, it reached a final 2014 total of 1.14 million copies sold, becoming the 4th best selling album of 2014 by any artist of any genre.

The album is also the highest charting holiday album by a group since 1962. The album has sold 1,900,000 copies in the United States as of December 2016.

Pentatonix Reveal “Can’t Sleep Love,” Their First-Ever Original Single

The laid-back tune is the lead single off the famous a cappella group’s new self-titled album, which will be comprised of all original material

Pentatonix have exploded past a cappella circles to become platinum-selling superstars who tour with Kelly Clarkson. The vocal quintet are looking to brighten their star even more with the first-ever album of all-original material. The debut taste of the self-titled record came today via the doo-woppy lead single “Can’t Sleep Love.”

Premiered alongside its colorful and artistic music video, “Can’t Sleep Love” is an easy-breezy tune detailing the adorable feeling of being too excited to fall asleep when you’re digging someone so hard.

Musically, Avi Kaplan and Kevin “K.O.” Olusola give vocalists Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi and Kirstin Maldonado a bumpin’ beat to serve laid-back, pitch-perfect harmonies on top of. The result is a sweet bop of a tune that will could fit on radio with the a cappella arrangement bringing something fresh to the listeners’ ears.

Scott added

“We’ve proved we can sing and we can arrange, now we want to prove we can write. We really wanted to push ourselves. We want to establish ourselves as original artists and show that we have something to say.”

“Can’t Sleep Love” is an undoubted an intriguing start to an album that promises to include everything “from chill, soulful stuff to upbeat, poppy craziness,” according to Pentatonix. For whatever reason, viral acts like PTX have an uphill battle when it comes to releasing original music and even with major-label backing and a passionate fan base, the act may struggle in this new sect of their careers. But as far as “Can’t Sleep Love” goes, consider us pitch-slapped and eager to hear more.

Pentatonix makes the varsity squad with ‘Cheerleader’ cover

The singers of Pentatonix have more than a billion views of their a cappella covers and other performances on their YouTube channel. But they may have outdone themselves with their version of Jamaican singer OMI’s summertime smash, Cheerleader. The group’s latest video features the five members wearing letterman hoodies — with “PTX” emblazoned on them, natch — and crooning away in a gym.

The group’s also getting fans fired up for new music: At the end of the video, after the credits roll, the screen goes black except for text that reads “Can’t Sleep Love #Soon.” Since Can’t Sleep Love is an unreleased song the quintet has been performing while on tour with the newly pregnant Kelly Clarkson, can new music be far away?

Pentatonix (or PTX) is an American a cappella group consisting of five vocalists originating from Arlington, Texas. Their work, which is mostly in the pop style, consists of covers of existing songs, sometimes in the form of medleys, along with original material. Their music is defined by their own arrangement style, tight vocal harmonies, extensive vocal riffing, deep and steady vocal bassl ines, and a diverse range of vocal percussion and beat boxing.

Pentatonix formed in 2011 and came to prominence the same year by winning the third season of The Sing-Off on NBC, their victory earning them $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony Music. After being dropped from the label (Epic Records) after The Sing-Off, the group formed their popular YouTube channel and distributed their music through Madison Gate Records, a small independent label owned by Sony Pictures that distributes movie soundtracks. The group also made effective use of social media to interact with their fan base.

Having now eclipsed 8.7 million subscribers and more than 1 billion cumulative views, the PTX official YouTube page is currently the 13th most subscribed-to music channel and the 44th most subscribed channel overall. Pentatonix’s most viewed music video is a tribute to Daft Punk that recently surpassed 150 million views.
