To start the day ….. “FACES”!!

~~August 30, 2014~~

Poem of Faces

(Walt Whitman)

SAUNTERING the pavement or riding the
country by-road, here then are faces!
Faces of friendship, precision, caution, suavity,
The spiritual prescient face — the always welcome,
common, benevolent face,
The face of the singing of music — the grand faces
of natural lawyers and judges, broad at the
The faces of hunters and fishers, bulged at the
brows — the shaved blanched faces of ortho-
dox citizens,
The pure, extravagant, yearning, questioning artist’s
The ugly face of some beautiful soul, the hand-
some detested or despised face,
The sacred faces of infants, the illuminated face
of the mother of many children,
The face of an amour, the face of veneration,
The face as of a dream, the face of an immobile

And more of the drug-shelf, laudanum, caoutchouc,

or hog’s-lard.

This face is an epilepsy, its wordless tongue gives
out the unearthly cry,
Its veins down the neck distend, its eyes roll till
they show nothing but their whites,
Its teeth grit, the palms of the hands are cut by
the turned-in nails,
The man falls struggling and foaming to the ground
while he speculates well.

This face is bitten by vermin and worms,
And this is some murderer’s knife with a half-
pulled scabbard.

This face owes to the sexton his dismalest fee,
An unceasing death-bell tolls there.

Those then are really men, the bosses and tufts
of the great round globe!

Features of my equals, would you trick me with
your creased and cadaverous march?
Well, you cannot trick me.

I see your rounded never-erased flow,
I see neath the rims of your haggard and mean

Faces and facial expressions give how we feel away. Could that be changed soon?

~Published on Aug 29, 2014~

The day when people choose what expressions to wear rather than betray their feelings on their faces may be near. Artist Nobumichi Asai has found a way to project and map expressions onto people’s faces, effectively creating a facial mask.

“Just Patty’s” Corner …. the power of the spoken word!!

~~May 2, 2014~~

“Just Patty’s” Corner …. the power of …. (this time) …. the spoken word!

Patty is a very dear friend and can be found at:

We all know about Patty, the Dutch Poet and published writer.

She has been writing her poems for more than one year. She has published them in her book “My Wings“. An awesome book, I will add.

Today she has tried a new way of conveying her feelings.

She seems concerned about the quality of her English, which is a second language.

I will tell you that the accent that she has while speaking English makes her sound more mysterious, interesting, beguiling and exotic.

I will be copying some of the material, which she posted earlier, in this “spot”.

Take a look, a listen and you be the judge!!

This is the quote, no clue who wrote it so if anyone knows, please share!

It’s a beautiful thought, isn’t it? Okay, now for my poem. I hope you will enjoy this!

I’d rather be the moon by “Just Patty”

Click to listen:  I’d rather be the moon

The moon

The sun will warm you

When you are freezing

Brighten up your day, burns the darkness away

Embraces you with rays never ending

The moon will guide you

When your world is black

Gently leading, without even asking

Getting you back onto the track

The sun will hide

When the clouds appear

Leaves you on your own, all alone

Whenever a storm gets near

The moon will be there

To bath you in light

Even when the skies get rough, it’s light will be enough

Guarding you all through the night

The sun will shine for you

On your brightest days

But the moon I’d rather be, loving you endlessly

And to shine your darkness away
