A Classic, A Capella …. “Pentatonix: Bohemian Rhapsody …. MAGNIFICO …. “!!

~~April 8, 2018~~

Bohemian Rhapsody” is a song by the British rock band Queen. It was written by Freddie Mercury for the band’s 1975 album A Night at the Opera.

It is a six-minute suite, consisting of several sections without a chorus: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda.

The song is a more accessible take on the 1970’s progressive rock genre. It was reportedly the most expensive single ever made at the time of its release, though the exact cost of production cannot be determined.

To start the day …. “Adele …. Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”!!

~~May 23, 2016~~

There’s a new video by Adele available!

I watched it last night.

I hadn’t seen the technique that was used.

I must say is very interesting and articistic.

The video is included below.

Love Adele, what can I say?

Adele won big at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22

Six months after releasing her hit album 25, the 28-year-old is still on a roll.

The singer won five trophies and also premiered her music video for her next single, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), at the Billboard Music Awards, although she didn’t attend.

Adele won five awards, including: Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Selling Song for Hello.

While the 25 singer couldn’t attend because she’s currently on tour, Adele said in her thank you video: ‘It’s lovely to be in everyone’s company. I’m about to go on stage!’

After her thank you message, her music video for Send My Love (To Your New Lover) premiered.

Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is a song recorded by English singer and songwriter Adele for her third studio album, 25 (2015).

The song was written by Adele, Max Martin and Shellback, while production for the song was provided by the latter two.

A pop song, the singer herself describes it as a “happy you’re gone” song.

On March 25, 2016, during her show in Glasgow, Adele announced that “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” would serve as the third single from 25

The music video for the song was filmed in London, by American director Patrick Daughters, and was released on 22 May as part of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

At the end of the day …. “Ricky’s New Video: Perdóname …. “!!

~~February 12, 2016~~

One of the best ways to end a long, hectic day.

Listening to a slow ballad, sung by Ricky Martin.

One of my  favorite performers in the world.

I have followed his musical and acting career since his Menudo days.

He never ceases to amaze me!

Ricky’s da man …. I can’t help but love him.

Perdóname” (English: “Forgive Me“) is a song recorded by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, released on January 15, 2016 as the fourth single from his Spanish-language album, A Quien Quiera Escuchar (2015).

It was written by Martin, Yotuel Romero, Beatriz Luengo and Antonio Rayo, and produced by Julio Reyes Copello.

The music video for “Perdóname” was directed by Carlos Pérez and shot in December 2015 in Miami. It premiered on Primer Impacto on February 11, 2016 and was added to Martin’s Vevo channel shortly after that.

To start the day …. “Traidora: Marc Anthony & Gente De Zona”!!

~~February 1, 2016~~

It’s a new week, it’s a new month.

Weekend’s over.

We can still try to carry over the fun that we had during the weekend.

The best way to get started is with music.

Here’s a new catchy tune by Marc Anthony and Gente de Zona:

Gente de Zona (sometimes stylized as Gente D’ Zona) is a Cuban reggaeton (cubaton) group founded by Alexander Delgado in 2000. The group combines reggaeton rhythms with more traditional forms of Cuban music.

Alexander then met Michel Delgado, “El Karo,” and both started playing at parties and official playrooms Guanabacoa, Regla and especially Alamar. The group quickly earned the support of the public in those areas, and soon started participating in international festivals.

Gente de Zona found its first international success following their collaboration with Enrique Iglesias on his 2014 release “Bailando“. The track was awarded three Latin Grammy awards and received widespread international airplay.

“As it appears in … full read/full credit”

“Traidora” came out Friday, January 22

Cuban duo Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony can make really beautiful music together. Literally. Earlier this year, the Cuban duo paired up with the superstar singer for the energetic “La Gozadera,” a mix of reggaetón and Cuban beats with a thumping bass that climbed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

Now the three want to do it all over again.

On Friday, January 22, Gente de Zona released “Traidora” (Traitor), the new single from their upcoming U.S. debut, Visualízate, out this Spring on Sony Music Latin.

The song, which Billboard was able to listen to exclusively, is more tropical than reggaetón and manages to be rhythmic and lyrical at the same time. Starting with an evocative piano intro, it leads into Anthony’s melancholy vocals (“I know I lost you,” he sings, sentiment overflowing), then gets down to the grit of business with Gente de Zona’s chorus of “Traidora,” over an increasingly present bass.

Why another Marc Anthony duet?

Gente de Zona’s Alexander Delgado is the first to say they’re not just a collab act, despite the fact that they’ve yet to chart alone (past chart-hitting collabs include “Tu me quemas” with Chino y Nacho and “Piensas” with Pitbull).

“We want people to see us not as a band that does collaborations, but as a standalone group,” he said.

“Unfortunately,” he added with a laugh, “Our next single is with Marc.”

But it is for Gente de Zona’s album. With a bonus.

Gente de Zona is managed by Marc Anthony’s new entertainment company, Magnus.

Activist and Artist Prince Ea Releases New Video on Earth Day supporting Stand for Trees campaign

SAN FRANCISCO, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire

For the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, celebrity activist and spoken word artist Prince Ea launched his newest online video entitled “Dear Future Generations: Sorry” to motivate individuals to take immediate action to stop climate change by Standing for Trees.

Prince Ea was inspired to produce the video by the Stand for Trees campaign, an innovative new way for individuals to take real and effective action to protect threatened forests and help mitigate global climate change, all with the press of a button on their smart phones.

“We owe children a better future than the one we’re giving them now,” said Prince Ea, who visited two Stand for Trees project sites developed by Wildlife Works in Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“This isn’t just about saving trees, it’s about doing what’s right for billions of people around the world affected by climate change, as well as taking back the future of generations who will be affected by the actions we take today.”

Prince Ea, an online sensation, has more more than 1.3 million Facebook followers and YouTube videos with over 12 million views. In this latest video, he apologizes to future generations for the destruction that has been wrought on the world. He is encouraging everyone to stand up and take action now.

~About Prince Ea~

Born and raised on the North Side of St. Louis Missouri, Prince Ea has a sound unlike most artists. Possessing a great song writing ability and stage presence, he combines both creative and thought-provoking songs that neatly tie-in humor, wit, passion, and hard-hitting punch lines. Along with Prince Ea’s internet success, he has also been featured in both national and local publications including Huffington Post, CBS, FOX and Yahoo Music. VIBE Magazine declared him Vibe Verses Grand Champion and he was also featured in DISCOVER magazine for his academically provocative single “The Brain,” where he was dubbed “The King of brainy hip-hop.” Since then he has released several extremely popular spoken words that have been featured nationwide in various publications and talk shows including the Queen Latifah Show and the Blaze with Glenn Beck.

Ruby Rose: ‘I used to pray to God that I wouldn’t get breasts’

The Australian model, DJ and television personality opens up about her struggle with gender identity depicted in her new video

Everybody has a crush on Ruby Rose. Her heart-shaped jaw and piercing eyes first caught the attention of modeling agents when she was a child, and by her teens she was known as the cool tattooed girl on Australian MTV (her audition process required her to pound shots of beer and make out with strangers in the street).

And being gay was not much of a problem for mainstream television. While accepting an award for Favorite Female Personality in 2009, Rose impulsively blurted a question for her teenage tormenters: “Where are you now?!” The statement catapulted her to legitimate Australian sweetheart status, and won her a prestigious contract with Maybelline.

But being a beautiful, down-to-earth lesbian is far less challenging to the status quo than say, secretly wishing you were a boy. These are feelings Ruby has had since she was five or six. Throughout her life, she has oscillated between presenting as feminine and masculine (her “reincarnations,” she calls them), to varying degrees of happiness. In 2013, she cancelled a series of DJ gigs, citing “your ugly old friend Mr Depression.”

Last week, Rose released a very personal short film to tell that story, a gender-fluidity tribute called Break Free. Rose was the last person to predict the resonance that the video would have: at the time of writing, it has been watched almost 5 million times, and has gained Rose 200,000 new Facebook fans. The song, a previously unreleased, unmixed track by Butterfly Boucher, is being prepared for iTunes.

Obviously it’s very autobiographical. As a little kid, I was convinced that I was a guy. I used to bind with ACE bandages, which is really, really bad for you. I was like, five or six? I was really young. I didn’t have anything there to bind! I used to sleep on my chest because I thought it would stop me from getting boobs. I used to pray to God that I wouldn’t get breasts.

Then in my teens, I tried to be quite feminine. My mum was pushing me to do some modeling – everyone said I was a very pretty girl. And then one day it just got too much. I shaved my head and just went “Fuck you” to everyone who thought I need to look a certain way. And I got bullied after that. I found myself in really dangerous situations, where, if a guy said something to me like, “What are you? You’re a girl but you’re trying to be a boy,” or “Look at you, you’re disgusting” … if I talked back, a few times I got hit by guys. They’d say, “I would never hit a girl, but you’re not a girl.”

Eventually I went, “That’s it! I’ll grow my hair again, and try and be a girl.” Because I was pretty determined to get into entertainment, because I was bullied so much. I always said, “You watch! One day, I will do something, it will be great!” So I kind of did the more feminine thing again, did MTV, and after a little bit chopped everything off and am kind of back where it started.

So that’s kind of the video.

You can watch it both ways: you can watch it from the end to the beginning, and it’s exactly the same as watching it from the start to the end, depending if you’re a guy that feels like he’s in a woman’s body or a woman that’s in a guy’s body.

To start the day …. The Piano Guys: “Ants Marching/Ode To Joy”!!

~~November 13, 2014~~

I know, I know … I ended last night with a Piano Guy post and video. However, the included video is brand new, right off the presses. It’s a new video from the “Wonders” album. It’s a fun piece and I’m looking forward to post in. These are awesome performers and musicians beyond compare …. in my humble opinion.

The best way to start a day!!

(It’s so “fresh” that there aren’t many new images out there)

“Ants Marching/Ode To Joy”

… “a mash-up that incorporates melodies from Dave Matthews Band’s huge hit “Ants Marching / Beethoven Ode to Joy…. ”

Many thanks to St George Tourism who helped make this video possible.
Like them on Facebook: http://https://www.facebook.com/St.GeorgeZion

We would also like to thank Tuacahn for their generosity in allowing us to film at their beautiful amphitheatre.

What began as an experiment and then exploded into an Internet phenomenon has now evolved into an incredible success story. The Piano Guys, four talented dads from Utah, released their fourth studio album entitled Wonders (Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks) on October 7th. In an incredibly competitive week of major music releases, the album makes its chart debut at an impressive #12 on the Billboard Top 200.

This marks The Piano Guys’ highest debut and biggest opening sales week of their career.

The Piano GuysSteven Sharp Nelson, Jon Schmidt, Al Van der Beek and Paul Anderson – are an American musical group who became an online sensation by way of their immensely successful series of strikingly original self-made music videos. They’ve made over 50 music videos since early 2011, including their breakout hit, an innovative multi-handed version of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and a gorgeous reinvention of the hit song “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen.

To date, the Utah-based classical-pop group has released three major label albums on Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks: The Piano Guys, The Piano Guys 2, and the holiday album A Family Christmas.

Story behind “Ants Marching/Ode to Joy”

Shout out to all the Dave Matthews Band fans out there! Shout out to all the Ludwig van Beethoven fans out there! Now a shout out to all the DMB/Beethoven mash-up fans out there! Introducing … Ants Marching / Ode to Joy!

OK, so this tune started in sound check at one of our shows. We were playing around with that super catchy lick at the front end of DMB’s “Ants Marching.” Using a loop pedal we’d set up the chords then improv on top of them. It then evolved. We did things like mimic the snare hit on beats 2 and 4 using a padded piano bench. We created a unique fiddle-like sound by combining a 5 string electric cello and a bowed piano string (using a disassembled cello bow.) We used a myriad of muted piano and piano percussion sounds. Then we developed the loop effect farther so that 4 guys could play a lot more parts together.

Like most of our music, ALL OF THE SOUNDS YOU HEAR WERE CREATED BY PIANO & CELLO (with the help of a tambourine).

Ode to Joy crept its way in because, well, throwing classical licks into pop tune arrangements is one of the things we love to do, but we also loved that, though the two melodies melded well, the lyrics or “messages” of the two tunes starkly contrasted each other. Poetic irony, right? DMB’s tune talks of everyone doing the same thing (um…like ants marching) and implies a meaningless, despondent and monotonous isolation of human beings from one another, while Beethoven’s “tune” talks of friendship, brotherhood, interconnectedness, meaning, and, of course, joy.

We filmed this in ONE TAKE (meaning no cuts or alternative angles) using an octocopter with an attached gimbal (pivoted support). This allowed us to alternate between fly shots and glidecam-style shots. Jeremy Crawford and Frank Nelson (our “Piano Stunt Coordinators,” in addition to a long list of specialized roles within TPG) would catch, walk with, and then release the copter during the “take.” They wore motorcycle helmets as a safety precaution!

We performed this on one of the most incredible stages on Earth – Tuacahn Ampitheatre! This happens to be in the TPG’s “hometown” of St. George Utah. We were positioned on a rotating island stage surrounded by running water, heavy fog, dramatic lights, pyrotechnics and majestic red rock mountains. Ya. It felt as epic as it sounds.
