“Before, our music had the reputation of rebellion, but now it’s the opposite.”
Bombino
The title of this song translates to “I greet my country” and it was written by the great guitar player, Bombino, about his home in Niger after he spent years in exile.
Extremists and the leaders of the country tried to ban the guitar as a symbol of the rebellion.
Bombino once said,
“I do not see my guitar as a gun but rather as a hammer with which to help build the house of the Tuareg people.”
The unity of musicians around the world playing on this song is a statement that music is part of the foundation from which we rebuild our humanity and our world together.
The main is the loss of these soldiers in unknown circumstances. Other losses include the realization that officials in the higher posts in this nation’s government are so offhandedly willing to lie.
The saddest and most important part is the treatment of the widow, Myeshia Johnson, her family and Rep. Frederica Wilson.
Yet, nothing better than this should be expected from this dishonorable Republican Administration who supposedly earn the ‘right’, by democratic votes, to lead this country.
White House chief of staff John Kelly thought Drumpf’s remarks in a call to the widow of a Green Beret slain by Islamic State terrorists in Niger were “completely appropriate” and “respectful,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday, October 19.
“Gen. Kelly was present for the call and thought it was completely appropriate,” Sanders told reporters at the daily briefing.
“He thought the call was respectful – and he thought that the president did the best job he could under those circumstances to offer condolences on the part of the country.”
Drumpf has no recording of Tuesday’s call to Myeshia Johnson, 24, of Miami Gardens, Florida, but Kelly was among “several people in the room from the administration who were on the call,” Sanders said.
I feel this is important information about what is happening in the Republican Administration lead by Drumpf and what we need to be aware of. Keith Olbermann series called “The Resistance” continues. He has posted installment #138.
