HOPEFUL

Hopeful, hopeful,
That’s the feeling I get when I hear her name.
Not knowing when;
Or why she has chosen me.
But knowing in my heart that I will never let her down.
Condescending;
Of all these ideas I have of her.
My walk with her has been one I’ll never forget;
I will not
Loose her.
In all the chaos in this world,
She is the one I seek  for guidance
Please, never let me go.
Forever with her,
I am,
Hopeful!

The last few days have been harrowing and mind-boggling. The security of what we know as our life, our world and our safety has been shaken to the core.

We frequently think:

“It won’t happen to me, it won’t happen here, it won’t happen to us.”

The only thing that we know for sure is that life, as we know it, can change in a flash.

Here’s a balm, a beautiful song to transport us to a warm, beautiful place …. if only for a moment.

WHEN I DANCE

I dance for me,

Silent vibrations from within

Rhythm of the unseen,

I dance for me.

My steps follow their direction,

My heart-beat echoes their sound.

Some say I dance weird: they call me possessed.

If I dance raw, if I dance pure,

If I dance whirlwind, if I dance the spirits within,

No matter what they say,

I know I dance me.

I dance for me.

Omar Akram is a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, composer and pianist. He became the first Afghan-American to win a Grammy award in 2013 with his fourth studio album, “Echoes of Love.”

He is also an inspirational writer who contributes to The Huffington Post.

Akram was born in New York. He grew up traveling around the world as the son of a United Nations diplomat living in such diverse locales as France, Cuba, Afghanistan and the Czech Republic. He notably met Fidel Castro at the age of 14, who is said to have allowed him to sneak into the local Cuban jazz clubs, the sounds of which influenced his formative compositional style.

Life is a secret journey that shares no mercy
You are lucky to go through it, to be born, and see the world ..
And then you say … Yes I have lived, I have cried,
And I have experienced some thorns …
 
Life is a secret journey that shares no mercy
You are lucky to go through it, to be born, and stand barriers …
And then you say… Yes I have lived, I have battled it,
And I am stronger …
 
Life is a secret journey that shares no mercy
You are lucky to go through it, to be born, and suffer …
And then you say … Yes I have lived, I have a cause
And now I give hope to others …

Stress is a major problem that many of us (If not all) have in our daily lives. There are many factors leading to stress: family, relatives, friends, work, finances … I’m sure you could add plenty more. 

We are not able to control many of the factors which could be the source of our stress but we sure can chose the company we keep.

One of our goals in life should be to grow in a positive fashion, become a better person and develop all the talents and potential to the max. 

We need support, we need encouragement, we need companionship, we need understanding …. and we know where to get that. 

So, we search ….. to find those who bring the best in you … not the stress in you!!
