“A Thousand Years” is a song by American singer-songwriter Christina Perri and David Hodges. It is taken from the album The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The song serves as the second single from the album. The song was released as a digital download on October 18, 2011 worldwide. Perri re-recorded the song with vocals from Steve Kazee for the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack titled “A Thousand Years, Pt. 2”.

Our kids give us great inspiration for our music.

When Jon’s 17 year
old daughter said how much she loved this song, Jon decided to try it.
He experienced a flood of inspiration. “Never has a piano part come
together this fast” Jon says. Steve experienced similar inspiration
while composing the cello parts. Since the lyrics suggest a bride
walking towards the groom in a ceremony we thought we would include a
quote from the Bridal Chorus by Wagner in the climax of the song.
(It is carefully disguised).

As it seems to always go, Paul and Tel didn’t find the spot until they spent 9 hours driving around southern Utah the day before the shoot looking. After getting a little discouraged by not finding anything that great, they just happened to check out a little hidden spot right near Baker Dam and thought it was perfect for the song. Heart is heavy … This is so senseless, and unfair.

Joseph Catino is such a warrior; his strength astounds so many. He is in so much pain that they are keeping him heavily medicated … And he still manages to joke, smile, throw up the peace sign … I leaned over to kiss him this morning and he grabbed the string from my hoodie and started tickling my nose.

I am awed daily by his courage.

Feel so incredibly lucky he chose me to be his Mom.

I am so sorry. You are of the most caring person I know you always go out of your way to help you been there for me so many times and I am here I can’t be there for you but know my love and prays are with you please call when have time. I see you guys are doing.

The hospice’s doctor reassured me that having faith is very important, but the reality of his situation is the cancer is too far spread. And so much damage has been done to his lungs, liver, one functioning kidney, and heart that further treatment will be more damaging than not. Our only alternative is homeopathy or clinical trials.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected.
