At the end of the day …. “Silent Night: Plácido Domingo and The Piano Guys”!!

~~December 24, 2015~~

Tonight is that special night of the year when all of us, as children, waited for the arrival of Christmas day.

I remember the exhilaration and excitement as we were told it’s time for bed. It’s still happening with my grandchildren.

However, no matter what your beliefs are, ’tis the night when Jesus was born.

Let’s not forget the reason for the season.

Hope you enjoy this music video.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Stunning Rendition Of ‘Silent Night’

By: Paul Morris

While some people got excited about special holiday sales, black Friday, and Cyber Monday, there are others who know how to celebrate the real reason for the season!

One such group of men is non other than the talented band simply known as the Piano Guys. These four men have managed to reach the number one position on the Billboard charts on multiple occasions, and when you watch the breathtaking video below, you’ll easily see why they’re going full viral!

While all of their musical renditions are impressive, they’ve just recently released a breathtaking version of the world’s most popular Christmas song, “Silent Night.” Alongside legendary Spanish singer Plácido Domingo, this has to be one of the most beautiful videos on the Internet.

When the children’s choir joins in, it’s just absolute magic. Even though this song is nearly 200 years old, and its been sung by groups spanning from every single musical genre, from rock ‘n’ roll, to Bing Crosby, it’s no surprise why this song continues to warm the hearts of everyone who hears it, because it’s just that soothing.

Filmed in the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City, this music video is both beautiful to watch and listen to!

“Silent Night”

Meaning/Story behind the song

Silent Night, Holy Night. All is calm, all is bright!

Sometimes it seems there is little in this world today that is silent, holy, calm or bright. However noisy, unholy, frenetic, or dark it may appear to be, music such as the immortal hymn, “Silent Night,” carries with it a feeling that can remind us there is still an abundance of virtue all around us. There is hope and beauty. And there is light.

To properly paint this feeling we collaborated with none other than the tenor legend, Plácido Domingo, whose sublime vocal gift is rivaled by his kindness and sincerity. It was a joy to work with him. He is an artist whose illustrious, exalted career has not snuffed out his sweet disposition or his genuine love for the art of music. Joining us are the children from the Cathedral School Choristers, whose pure faith proclaim the profound message of this hymn. We filmed this during an East coast tour in the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, one of the largest cathedrals in the world, a colossal monument to the greatest gift ever given, the Son of God.

May your Christmas this year be filled with serenity, spirituality, peace, and felicity.

We ALL are connected through HUMANITY!!

We ALL are ONE!!

At the end of the day …. Yanni: Inspirato!!

~~August 15, 2014~~

Elevation of the human spirit to a higher level of awareness, feeling and empowerment.

I must confess that I am an ardent, die-hard Yanni fan. It all started when I, by chance, caught that Oprah show which featured Linda Evans where Yanni was introduced to the huge TV audience. I was one of them and, like Linda, was mesmerized by this dark-haired, beautiful, perfect man. And to top it off, he was a musician who played New Age music.

It was love at first sight, like Linda. Since then, I started buying his music CDs, his concert DVDs and have managed to see him live a few times.

I knew I had to buy the newly released CD. Like a fan, I always keep track of his music and find no fault to what he does. Some may but I don’t! In my eyes, he does no wrong.

Inspirato is Yanni’s seventeenth studio album, released in 2014.

To create the album, Yanni collaborated with opera tenor Plácido Domingo and producer Ric Wake to select distinguished vocalists to perform songs that Yanni had previously released over his career.

~Content and production~~

The album’s tracks are based on selected songs from throughout Yanni’s career, but have newly-created lyrics sung by distinguished vocalists having opera backgrounds. The dominant language of the album’s lyrics is Italian. The album, with its lyrical and classical elements, was characterized as reflecting a radical change in Yanni’s style. Despite the album’s use of opera singers, Yanni emphasized the album was “not opera.”

Yanni collaborated with tenor Plácido Domingo and producer Ric Wake to match Yanni’s songs to the respective vocalists. In part because of the distinguished vocalists’ schedules, the project is said to have required four years to complete.

~~Performers appearing on this CD~~

Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Rolando Villazon

Katherine Jenkins, Vittorio Grigolo, Chloe Lower

Russell Watson, Nathan Pacheco, Lauren Jelencovich, Pretty Yende

Inspirato peaked at #1 in Billboard’s Top New Age Album category for 2014.

The album’s extension of Yanni’s style into the lyrical and classical was characterized by Reviews New Age’s Alejandro Clavijo as being an overwhelming success.
