To occupy oneself with unimportant matters and neglect priorities during a crisis

There’s not an obvious crisis right now except for the fact that he’s president. Note the numbers below to realize that playing golf is more important than leading the country. And, to top is off, the golf courses are his properties. Profits direct to his pocket. Well done, America!

Drumpf, through his Drumpf Organization, owns or operates 17 different golf courses around the world, including 12 in the United States, two in Dubai, one in Ireland and two in Scotland. One of those U.S. golf courses in close to his Mar-a-Lago private club in West Palm Beach, Fla., and that’s where Drumpf plays the bulk of his golf as ‘so-called president’, spending more time of late at his golf club in Sterling, Va., about 20 miles from the White House.

How many times has Drumpf played golf as President of the United States?

Since taking office on Jan. 20, 2017, Drumpf has reportedly been on the grounds of his golf courses 35 times since the inauguration, and that’s as of July 3.

He previously was on pace to visit his golf clubs more than 650 times in an eight-year presidency. He’s currently on track to play 480 rounds in office over eight years, assuming he wins re-election and completes both terms.

(god forbid)

As of July 3, he has spent nearly 22% of his days in office at one of his golf properties to play for some portion of the day.

Something to think about …. “Can anyone tell me why?

~~December 30, 2015~~

Ethan Anthony Couch (born April 11, 1997) is an American who made national headlines at age 16 when he was prosecuted as a juvenile and convicted of four counts of intoxication manslaughter for recklessly driving drunk on June 15, 2013 in Burleson, Texas where he was speeding, lost control of his vehicle, plowed into a gathering of pedestrians and struck a parked car. Four people were killed and nine others injured, two suffering serious bodily injury as a result of the collision.

In December 2013, Judge Jean Hudson Boyd sentenced Couch to 10 years of probation and subsequently ordered him to therapy at a long-term, in-patient facility, after his attorneys successfully argued that the teen suffered from “affluenza” and needed rehabilitation instead of prison. Boyd then retired as judge the following December. Couch’s sentence set off what the New York Times called “an emotional, angry debate that has stretched far beyond the North Texas suburbs”.

Couch became the subject of a manhunt and was listed in the National Fugitive Database on December 11, 2015, after his probation officer was unable to contact him. On December 28, 2015, authorities detained Couch and his mother in the Mexican resort city of Puerto Vallarta.

Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy (June 25, 2002 – November 23, 2014), was shot on November 22, 2014, in Cleveland, Ohio.  Two police officers, 26-year-old Timothy Loehmann and 46-year-old Frank Garmback, responded after receiving a police dispatch call “of a male black sitting on a swing and pointing a gun at people” in a city park. A caller reported that a male was pointing “a pistol” at random people in the Cudell Recreation Center.

At the beginning of the call and again in the middle he says of the pistol “it’s probably fake.” Toward the end of the two-minute call, the caller stated “he is probably a juvenile.” However, this information was not relayed to Loehmann or Garmback on the initial dispatch. The officers reported that upon their arrival, Rice reached towards a gun in his waistband. Within two seconds of arriving on the scene, Loehmann fired two shots before the zone car had come to a halt, hitting Rice once in the torso. Neither officer administered any first aid to Rice after the shooting. He died on the following day.

Rice’s gun was later found to be an Airsoft replica that lacked the orange safety feature marking it as a replica and not a true firearm. A surveillance video of the shooting was released by police four days later, on November 26. On June 3, the County Sheriff’s Office released a statement in which they declared their investigation to be completed and that they had turned their findings over to the county prosecutor.

The prosecution presented evidence to a grand jury, which declined to indict.

At the end of the day …. “Love is never wasted”!!

~~October 22, 2014~~

“Relationships are at the core of our being. We are hardwired for them. Our initial human connection is with the heartbeat of our mother and from that point, we may sense that we are not alone in the vastness of existence, even if we don’t have the language to express it. Physical and emotional nourishment flow from there.

Once we are born into world, we seek that connection with family, friends and the larger community. We create links with those who cross our paths; working, playing and learning with them, whether they are human or other species. They enrich our lives. They often challenge our perceptions of ourselves; sometimes in ways that surprise and delight us, and at other times, in a manner that we wish would not have been so.

Each time, we face a choice point: to run from these experiences, or to embrace them. What I have found, after 55 years on the planet and having had multiple short-term and long-term relationships, is this undeniable truth: Love is never wasted. Regardless of the duration, the depth or the death of the dance we might have done with another, we carry with us the imprint of the connection we have shared.”

Tribute to animal rescuers ….. EVOLVE! Campaigns …

~~April 19, 2014~~

An animal rescue group or animal rescue organization is dedicated to pet adoption. These groups take unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray pets and attempt to find suitable homes for them. Many rescue groups are created by and run by volunteers, who take the animals into their homes and care for them — including training, playing, handling medical issues, and solving behavior problems — until a suitable permanent home can be found.

Rescue groups exist for most pet types (reptile rescue, rabbit rescue or bird rescue), but are most common for dogs and cats. For animals with many breeds, rescue groups may specialize in specific breeds or groups of breeds. For example, there might be localLabrador Retriever rescue groups, hunting dog rescue groups, large-dog rescue groups, as well as general dog rescue groups.

Widely recognized as an umbrella organization for animal rescue groups, is an online, searchable database of more than 13,000 shelters and adoption agencies across the United StatesCanada and Mexico. The American Kennel Club maintains a list of contacts, primarily within breed clubs, with information on breed rescue groups for purebred dogs in the United States.

Animal shelters often work closely with rescue groups, because shelters that have difficulty placing otherwise healthy and pet-worthy animals would usually rather have the animal placed in a home than euthanized; while shelters might run out of room, rescue groups can often find volunteers with space in their homes for temporary placement. Some organizations (such as Old Dog Haven) work with older animals whose age would likely cause them to be euthanized in county pounds. Each year, approximately 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters due to overcrowding and a shortage of foster homes.

In the United Kingdom, both shelter and rescue organizations are described using the blanket term rescue, whether they have their own premises, buy in accommodation from commercial kennels, or operate a network of foster homes, where volunteers keep the animals in their homes until adoption.

Kennels that have a council contract to take in stray dogs are usually referred to as dog pounds. Some dog pounds also carry out rescue and re-homing work and are effectively rescue groups that operate a pound service. Some rescue groups work with pounds to move dogs to rescues. By law, a dog handed in as a stray to a UK pound must be held for seven days before it can be re-homed or euthanized.

In the USA, there are three classifications for pet rescue:

  • municipal shelter is a facility that houses stray and abandoned animals, as well as animals that people can no longer care for, on behalf of local governments
  • no-kill shelter is a usually private organization whose policies include the specification that no healthy, pet-worthy animal be euthanized
  • Not-for-profit rescue organizations typically operate through a network of volunteer foster homes. These rescue organizations are also committed to a no-kill policy.

A Tribute To Animal Rescuers by EVOLVE! Campaigns

~~Uploaded on Apr 5, 2010~~

This video was created in gratitude to all the animals rescuers, no-kill shelters, sanctuaries and kind hearted souls who have given loving homes to animals in need. You are the guardian angels of the exploited, neglected and unwanted and your work to ease suffering and give life back to those who have lost hope is truly appreciated.
