In spite of the political and daily problems the United Kingdom seems to be going through, it looks their concept of political advertisement goes along the correct path.

Can the US learn a lesson here?

“There’s a Rang-tan in my bedroom, and I don’t know what to do,” the British actress Emma Thompson says, lending her voice to a young girl in an animated advertisement for Iceland, a food retailer in Britain.

It turns out the “Rang-tan” is a baby orangutan that has lost its mother and the rain forest it once called home, and that it no longer has a place to live.

The story line might seem harmless enough, but the commercial wasn’t cleared this week to air on British TV because it was deemed to violate laws against political advertising.

The decision ignited a firestorm on social media in Britain and led to a wildly popular petition demanding that it be overturned. And to many in the United States, where more than $3 billion was spent on political advertising for the recent midterm elections, the reaction was total bafflement.

Really, many wondered, can political advertising be banned?

Muslim War Hero Sacrificed Himself for All Americans

Humayun Saqib Muazzam Khan (September 9, 1976 – June 8, 2004) was an American citizen and soldier. Born in the United Arab Emirates to Pakistani parents, he moved to the U.S. with his family as a young boy. He attended the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.

On graduating in 2000, Khan was commissioned an officer in the United States Army and was deployed as a captain to Iraq during the Iraq War.

In 2004 he was killed in a suicide attack near Baqubah, Iraq, and was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

What could be the final campaign ad from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the home stretch of the campaign is the most devastating.

“In 2004, my son was stationed in Iraq,” Khan says at the beginning of the ad, folding his son’s dress uniform.

He saw a suicide bomber approaching his camp. My son moved forward to stop the bomber. When the bomb exploded, he saved everyone in his unit.

Only one American soldier died.

He was 27 years old, and he was a Muslim American, Khan continued, choking back tears. “I want to ask Mr. Trump, would my son have a place in your America?”

I decided a while back that I was going to stop posting related to MR. Trump.

As you’ve seen today, I haven’t been able to do so.

The reason for continuing posting about him is because I think that he’s dangerously close to the White House.

That really concerns me.

I’m an American citizen by virtue of being born in Puerto Rico.

My nationality is Puerto Rican.

However, this man could totally and completely destabilize the nation and the entire world.

People need to know.

It amazes me how far he’s been able to get in this presidential ‘race’.

It seems that those that follow him are blind, entranced and hypnotized.

I can’t fathom a Trump presidency.

I will vote for the winner of last night’s debate.

Trump attacks former Miss Universe who ‘gained a massive amount of weight’ and had ‘attitude’

NEW YORK

Donald Trump launched a deeply personal attack Tuesday morning, September 27, on Alicia Machado, the 1996 Miss Universe winner who has accused him of calling her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping” because she’s Latina.

Hillary Clinton cited these comments in the final minutes of the first presidential debate on Monday night, September 26, along with other unflattering comments Trump has made about women. Soon after the debate, Clinton posted a video on Twitter featuring Machado speaking Spanish as she describes how Trump would call her “fat” and “ugly” and how she was afraid of him.

The ad also features footage from the 1990’s of Trump saying in an interview that Machado went from 117 or 118 pounds to 160 or 170 and commenting:

“So this is somebody that likes to eat.”

“This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs, and someone who has said pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers,” Clinton said, as Trump shouted out that he never said those things, “who has said women don’t deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men.

And one of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest.

He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman ‘Miss Piggy.’ Then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping,’ because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name.”

HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Hillary generates many different feelings in all of us.

Some see her as part of the political establishmen. Some can’t stand her at all.

Others hate her outright.

She wasn’t my first choice.

However, given the alternative in the current political scene, in my humble opinion, she’s the “best” choice.

I strongly believe that the future of America is in a very delicate state.

Some say “the lesser of two evils”.

Some won’t vote at all.

I just cringe at the though of “the donald” being the president of this country.

On another note, I’m including this video because I think that the creators have done a good job in presenting the journey to get to the night when she clinched the nomination.

May the votes be cast thinking about America’s future given the actual choices.
