On Wednesday, October 19, when moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump about immigration policy and reform, he began, as he often does, painting undocumented immigrants as violent criminals. (Despite research repeatedly proving native born citizens are more likely to be linked to violent crime than immigrants.)

Then the GOP nominee moved on to drugs, drug lords and, again, the need to deport “bad people”:

We’ll get them out, secure the border, and once the border is secured, at a later date we’ll make a determination as to the rest. But we have some bad hombres here and we’re going to get them out.

Politics aside, the language Trump uses is just as important as what he is, or rather isn’t, saying. Sure he’s repeatedly spoken about immigrants as if they were a biblical plague of sombrero-wearing, mustachioed criminals yelling “arriba! arriba!” as they run across the border with taco bowls filled with drugs.

But on Wednesday night he turned to Spanish to make his point. 

When Trump casually used “bad hombres” that night, what he was trying to do was use our own language against us.

Off-the-cuff or not, that’s just all sorts of WRONG! … to put it in the Donald’s own language.

While many reacted with quips and memes to Trump’s awkward use of “bad hombres,” what I heard was a corruption of something I felt to be mine. My mother’s tongue, the language in which I uttered my first word as a child, the language that feels like family, culture and home in my mouth, being used by a man set on vilifying my community and immigrants.

And in this case Donald, no se puede.

SNL has simply become one of the best shows to portray, through humor and satire, the reality of these presidential debates.

They are simply hilarious!

Kate McKinnon is amazing. She has been ‘playing’ Hillary for a while.

Alec Baldwin joined the cast and plays ‘the donald’.

They did the first presidential debate, the VP debate and the second debate.

All to ‘die’ laughing!

This third one got even better.

Tom Hanks plays the moderated!

Laughter is the best medicine, I’ve always said.

That’s the only way you can go through this incredibly crazy election cycle.

Bad Lip Reading (abbreviated as BLR) is a YouTube channel, run by an anonymous individual in the music production business, that spoofs clips from films, TV shows, songs, sports, and political news stories by overdubbing humorous vocal work that matches the lip movements of the targets.

Rolling Stone described the channel as “the breakout hit” of the 2012 United States presidential election cycle.

As of March 2016, the Bad Lip Reading YouTube channel had amassed over 5 million subscribers and over 619 million views across its videos. The identity of the creator is unknown.

Ahead of Sunday’s rematch between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Bad Lip Reading provided its hilarious dubbing of what the presidential candidates really said in the first debate.

Trump apparently sang, “I don’t want no big, fat, ugly baby. I want a baby on fleek.” To which Clinton responded, “Hey hey hey, I have to say, you suck.”

The ‘Last Week Tonight’ host broke down Trump’s sexist treatment of the former Miss Universe – and women in general.

Last week, John Oliver celebrated his long-awaited return to his HBO program Last Week Tonight with an extensive breakdown of how “dangerous” Donald Trump’s litany of scandals are – and far more damning than those of his opponent, Hillary Clinton.
The big story this week concerned Trump’s bizarre preoccupation with former 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado.

After getting steamrolled in the first presidential debate and making the bold claim that “I think my strongest asset, maybe by far, is my temperament,” Trump went absolutely ballistic over Machado, who was invoked by Clinton during the debate as a prime example of Trump’s gross history of misogyny – with the Republican presidential candidate referring to the beauty queen as “Miss Piggy” in the past.

Oliver then cut to a 1997 interview with Trump and Machado, wherein Trump chided the Venezuelan stunner for gaining weight in front of her face, and then urged viewers of the program to participate in an online poll asking:

“Should a pageant titleholder be required to maintain her physical appearance during her reign?”

Tecate Proposed A ‘Beer Wall’ During The Presidential Debate

For most of the 2016 presidential election, Republican nominee Donald Trump has boasted about his promise to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and force Mexico to pay for it.

But after Trump got cold feet and didn’t ask Mexico’s president Enrique Peña Nieto to pay for it during a meeting last month, the promise has fallen from the headlines. During the first presidential debate of the 2016 campaign, a Mexican beer company put the issue front and center with a hilarious commercial.

Monday night, September 26, Tecate, a Mexican beer brand owned by Heineken, reminded Americans of Trump’s divisive promise by running an ad during the presidential debate on Fox News, Univision, and Telemundo networks. The ad mocked Trump’s plan by proposing a three-foot-high wall on the U.S.-Mexico border that invites people on both sides to come together over cold cervezas.

“The time has come for a wall. A tremendous wall. The best wall. The Tecate beer wall,” the ad says. “The wall that brings us together.

This wall might be small, but it’s going to be huge.”

Tecate sees the ad as a positive way to engage consumers during a divisive political season.

“Tecate is using beer as the great unifier in developing a fun, lighthearted and clever commercial where friends from two bordering countries share a couple of Tecates over a wall,” Felix Palau, vice president of the company, said in a press release.

“Tecate is acknowledging an ongoing conversation, while raising a glass to beer’s uncanny ability to bring people together in a positive way.”

‘Saturday Night Live’ recreates the presidential debate in its season premiere

It was amazingly brutal and truthful.

Both candidates got their share of jabs but, of course, Mr. Trump got the majority of them.

It was a worthwhile performance.

It had me laughing my head off!

After a long summer, “Saturday Night Live” is back for its 42nd season.

With the presidential election just five weeks away, the writers and cast had a lot of material to work with. Naturally, they began Saturday’s season premiere with a cold open, recreating last week’s presidential debate.

Former lead star of “30 Rock” Alec Baldwin played Republican nominee Donald Trump – a new addition to this season of SNL – while Kate McKinnon played Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, which has been her role the last several seasons.

Michael Che played debate moderator Lester Holt.

In the 10 minute skit, the actors reenacted the debate almost exactly as it happened, hitting all of the major moments, including Clinton’s line “Trumped-up trick down economics,” Trump’s sniffles, which debate organizers say were picked up by a bad microphone, the moment where Trump essentially admitted he doesn’t pay taxes and when Clinton mentioned 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado toward the end of the debate.

~Clinton Keeps Her Cool~

Monday, September 26, brought the first debate of the presidential season, but it often felt like two separate debates.

One, from Hillary Clinton, was wonky, crisp, and polished; if not always inspiring, it was professional and careful.

The other, from Donald Trump, was freewheeling, aggressive, and meandering, occasionally landing a hard blow but often substance-less and hard to follow. But the two debates intersected at times, sometimes raucously, as Trump repeatedly broke in to interrupt Clinton.

Historically, debates have tended to have little effect on the ultimate result of the election, and little lasting effect on polls. But this was precisely the performance Clinton had wanted.

With polls showing a dead heat, Democrats have been beginning to panic, with the pitch increasing ahead of the debate, as supporters wondered whether Clinton could perform, and whether Trump would shoot himself in the foot or manage to appear presidential.

It’s also tough to predict the response of voters to a debate, and while Trump performances during the GOP primary were often mediocre at best, he still scored high marks with his supporters.

But Clinton’s delight was barely hidden by the end of the night.

When Trump concluded an increasingly angry spiel directed at her—”I have a winning temperament. I know how to win” – the Democrat paused for a brief moment, smiled at the camera, said, “Woo! Okay!” and did a little shimmy before answering.

It was the happiest she had looked in public in the last 20 months.
