I don’t even know why I hadn’t posted about her!

Glennis Grace (born as Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta, 19 June 1978, Amsterdam) is a singer from the Netherlands who in 2005 won the national selection in the Netherlands for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 for the nation. Grace’s song was the ballad “My Impossible Dream“, but she did not advance to the final.

She was discovered after she won a Dutch TV talent show where she performed Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time”. In April 2011 she reached the top of the Dutch singles chart with a rendition of “Afscheid”, a 1998 hit of the band Volumia!. She appeared on the 13th season of America’s Got Talent in 2018.

Her first performance on America’s Got Talent was a cover from Whitney Houston’s “Run To You”.

Earlier in the AGT season, the glamorous singer performed “Run to You” by Whitney Houston for her audition, then followed up with “Nothing Compares 2 U“.

Grace showed her earlier performances were no flukes when she nailed the inspiration song with a touch of soul and some crowd-pleasing power-notes.

This is the first time I was privileged to hear all 7 of these anointed musicians play together.

Ever since the Royal Wedding and me encountering the dynamic gift of Sheku Kanneh-Mason on the cello, and then the tremendous talent of his siblings as well, I have not been able to stop crying.

God’s hand is so powerfully on this family.

Just as King David played the harp, this entire family of psalmists is transforming the lives of others and taking authority over the atmosphere through song. They have been raised up strategically for such a time as this. May God crown them with glory, with open doors, and unprecedented favor.

A new musical mashup by Michael Korte, the YouTube personality that conceived the pop culture collision of a Hamilton/Beyoncé mashup seeks to do just that with #PURPLE4PRINCE, an ode to his Purpleness mixed with the songs of The Color Purple musical, a combination that’s fitting in more ways than one.

Featuring the vocal talents of Lolah Brown, Milo Bloom, Emi Secrest, Uri Grey, Kawan DeBose, and Sha’Leah Nikole and arranged by Jared Jenkins, the mashup uses songs from the popular musical against Prince favorites like “Purple Rain” and “I Feel For You.”

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY

I can’t believe how fast time flies.

A year ago we received the news of Prince passing.

He was found in Paisley Park, lifeless.

Many theories were presented, many half truths, many rumors.

No matter the reason, a huge musical giant, an amazing musician, a masterful influence was gone.

He crossed his ‘Purple Bridge”.

And left his many fans behind!

2016: A ROUGH YEAR

Unless anyone’s residence is under a rock (not for 365 days), we all know how rough this year has been.

As years come to an end, there’s usually the perennial hope that the new one will bring good tidings and better things than the one that just ended.

However, it’s my personal belief that, we are in for a rougher ride in 2017 and beyond.

I really hope that I’m proven so wrong.

These lost lives can’t be replaced.

They will live in history and in the memory of our generation.

Dignity and self-respect can’t be replaced either and it will be much harder to recover.
