MOTHER EARTH OVERWHELMED BY PLASTIC

It’s no surprise – we are using tons of plastic, way more than we need, and the Earth cannot digest it.

Every single piece of plastic that has been created still exists somewhere on the Earth. It is poisoning our oceans, landfills and bodies. The production of plastic goods is polluting our atmosphere, and as a result of the oil extraction process to obtain the petroleum to make the plastic, our forests are being cut down and our rivers, lakes and oceans are being polluted. When will it be enough?

The fact of the matter is, we are using more plastic now than ever before, and because it is so (seemingly) easily disposed of, most of us are completely unaware of the waste we are helping to produce, especially on a mass scale.

In feminist theory, rape culture is a setting in which rape is pervasive and normalized due to societal attitudes about gender and sexuality. There is disagreement over what defines rape culture and as to whether any societies currently meet the criteria for a rape culture.

TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THIS

My life has been the proverbial roller coaster of dieting and weight loss back to weight gain.

I’m in my 60’s now.

It’s not a matter of looking good anymore.

It’s a matter of feeling good and being healthy.

I have started another regimen.

This time it’s accompanied by working out.

Not the usual working out at a gym.

I’ve started doing Pilates.

So far so good.

Today was the second session of a one-on-one trainer.

It felt good today.

I’m motivated.

I want to do this because I don’t want my joints to hurt so much anymore.

I need to be more mobile.

Life is going by fast …. Let’s get this done.

I AM ANTI-TRUMP

I have been since the first time he announced he was running in the 2016 Presidential race.

Aside from the fact that I never really liked him, his TV shows, his attacks on Rosie O’Donnell, his comments about how “great” he is … I never liked the guy.

This country is now at a decisive moment in time.

He’s the proverbial “bull in the china shop“.

I can’t understand the thinking process of his followers.

Granted, we are all sick of the current two party system. Mostly we are sick and tired of the inaction of the elected officials since President Obama was elected.

It’s been eight years of “nothing”.

No significant legislation has been passed during this time.

It’s been eight years of total obstruction and corruption at many levels.

However, choosing this man is like cutting your nose to spite your face.

“Cutting off the nose to spite the face” is an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem.

I am an American citizen.

I thought more of America.

I thought more about it’s people. I expect more.

I hope I’m not proven wrong.

The newest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has some troubling news for Trump

The poll released Friday, October 2, 2015, found that of all the Republican presidential candidates, Trump has the least room to expand. He’s near his ceiling, and the race is just getting started.
Most candidates have a small segment of the population supporting them with plenty of room to grow, but because so many Americans say they could never vote for Trump, the business tycoon has a problem.

Trump’s volatile rhetoric and extreme positions on immigration have curried favor with much of the conservative base but have simultaneously alienated voters he’ll need to win a primary, and certainly a general election.

Trump doesn’t challenge anti-Muslim questioner at event

“We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims,” an unidentified man who spoke at a question-and-answer town hall event in Rochester, New Hampshire asked the mogul at a rally Thursday night. “You know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American.”

A seemingly bewildered Trump interrupted the man, chuckling,

“We need this question. This is the first question.”

“Anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us,” the man, wearing a “Trump” T-shirt, continued. “That’s my question: When can we get rid of them?”

“We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things,” Trump replied. “You know, a lot of people are saying that and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening. We’re going to be looking at that and many other things.”

The real estate mogul did not correct the questioner about his claims about Obama before moving on to another audience member.

WHAT IS MEDICAL MARIJUANA?

There are laws in some part of this country that make the consumption of marijuana illegal. Yet, the consumption of other products is OK.

There’s a junk food store in almost every corner of the town I live in. I can extrapolate, without fear of being incorrect, that many towns are in a similar position. The same could be said for establishments where alcohol is freely and legally consumed. The same could be said about tobacco (even though not included in the graph). In spite of an active campaign against tobacco use, there is a significant number of smokers in the US.

All of the above mentioned substances are laced with substances that may make their effects on the human body very deleterious.

Cannabinoids are plant-based, that is organic.

Maybe it’s time to really consider eliminating the stigma and the illegal status of THC.
