I caught up with my recorded Ellen’s shows. I was looking forward to Michelle Obama’s visit. She was there for the whole hour.

This is what quality, class, dignity, kindness really is.

 Both of them have fun every time they are together.

Michelle Obama and Ellen Degeneres head to Costco for a Becoming book signing

On November 15, Thursday’s episode of The Ellen Show, the Former First Lady made an impromptu trip to Costco where her new book Becoming just happens to be on sale.

Not one to shy away from attention, DeGeneres was quick to announce Obama’s presence in the store, whipping out a megaphone and yelling,

“We have Michelle Obama! Michelle Obama! She’ll be signing books!” …

as screaming shoppers flocked to meet them.

Despite DeGeneres’ attempts to embarrass Obama, she made up for it by ending with the crowd chanting “We miss the Obamas.” Don’t we all?

I have been following this young girl since she first appeared in the AGT’s auditions and Mel B pressed the Golden Buzzard.

This child is amazing.

She’s very talented in so many ways. She sings (with her mouth closed, she’s a ventriloquist) and her charisma fills the room.

Her performance throughout the season was cute, incredible, amazing and completely professional.

Have you ever had the chance to meet your idol?

Well, America’s Got Talent contestant Darci Lynne Farmer did – and in a huge way!

In the video below, posted on September 20, 2017, Darci Lynne and her puppet, Petunia, joined a fellow ventriloquist named Terry Fator, who just happens to be her idol and a previous winner of America’s Got Talent from the 2007 season.

During the live finale results show, the two of them put on the ultimate ventriloquist act for millions of viewers to enjoy.

Petunia meets Terry’s turtle, Winston, and starts to get a little competitive. The diva bunny can’t help herself as she and Winston sing “Anything You Can Do” and fight for the spotlight.

Little do they know, they are even better together!

As they sing with each other, Petunia and Winston hit high notes, one after the other, proving that each ventriloquist has something special within them.

The song fits their act perfectly as Winston and Petunia take turns out-singing each other for the audience!

OUR HEARTBEAT CONTINUES TO SKIP

It was in the early hours of June 12, 2016.

The early morning hours were broken by the loud, shattering sound or assault rifle bullets.

A placid, gregarious, fun, Latin night ended in tragedy.

Time moved in slow motion …

almost stood still.

49 beautiful souls lost their lives to the wanton thoughts of a madman.

It’s been almost three weeks …. yet our pulse still continues to skip beats.

ORNIE, THE PIG

Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week; hump day. I’m “breaking” the week’s “NatureIsSpeaking” series today even though this is a very uplifting series.

The world continues to be in a perpetual state of war, violence and crime abounds, abuse against minorities continue, the idiotic political campaign (of a certain party) seems unending, the economy continues to be uncertain, Citizens United is still alive and well, social and economical inequality is the sad reality, racism has never left the building and so much more.

It’s time to take a little break and enjoy some humor.

And maybe, I like the fact that his name, Ornie, sounds like mine, Horty.

We’ll be back tomorrow with Mother Nature.

Ormie is a Pig, in every sense of the word. Pig see cookie. Pig want cookie. But they are out of reach … or are they? See Ormie’s attempts to gain the warm sweet taste that is his obsession.

Social media is the social interaction among people in which they create, share or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as “a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content.” Furthermore, social media depend on mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms through which individuals and communities share, co-create, discuss, and modify user-generated content. They introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between organizations, communities, and individuals.

Social media differ from traditional or industrial media in many ways, including quality, reach, frequency, usability, immediacy, and permanence. There are many effects that stem from internet usage. According to Nielsen, internet users continue to spend more time with social media sites than any other type of site. At the same time, the total time spent on social media in the U.S. across PC and mobile devices increased by 37 percent to 121 billion minutes in July 2012 compared to 88 billion minutes in July 2011. For content contributors, the benefits of participating in social media have gone beyond simply social sharing to building reputation and bringing in career opportunities and monetary income, as discussed in Tang, Gu, and Whinston (2012).
