“Eve of Destruction” is a protest song written by P. F. Sloan in mid-1964. Several artists have recorded it, but the best-known recording was by Barry McGuire. This recording was made between July 12 and July 15, 1965 and released by Dunhill Records.

I was a teenager, living in Puerto Rico, when this song came out.

I remember all the talk about the Vietnam War and the protests taking place over the country.

Who would think that we’d be now so close again to such a decisive event?

Does this ring any kind of historical bell?

The feat ahead of this Republican Administration is enormous.

It was reported last night that raids have already started in several states.

The numbers of immigrants picked up isn’t know at the time of this writing.

White House reported 100 in Arizona when in fact is was 160.

Other states have started conducting raids too.

What is this administration going to do with so many people?

Will this face a fate similar to the #MuslimBan?

Another fiasco?

Drumpf campaigned on deporting 2 million to 3 million undocumented immigrants

“What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably 2 million, it could be even 3 million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate,” Drumpf told “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl, according to a preview of the interview released by CBS.

“But we’re getting them out of our country. They’re here illegally.”

It has been more than two months since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president, and slowly but surely the entertainment factor as been on the wane and the fear factor has been on the rise.

As his poll numbers steadily keep him in a comfortable first place in the crowded GOP field, and he packs stadiums — receiving raucous applause in Alabama and along the Mexican border — his fiery and divisive rhetoric has taken on a new meaning. I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician.
