Ricky Martin shocked the audience with an unexpected visit to Ellen.
My favorite Puerto Rican singer, a man of my young teenage and young adult dreams, my favorite male representative of my LGBT community … he’s at it again!
And he delivers!!
Need to take my mind off the usual routine and sad reality we are living
It’s Friday … a typical day for celebration and fun.

To say that the 40-something Ricky Martin maintains a boyish appeal may be the understatement of the year. The Puerto Rican superstar seized the spotlight as an angelic 12-year-old phenom in the boy band Menudo, beloved by teenyboppers and grandmothers alike.
He has rarely been out of the public eye since. Fresh off a blockbuster 2017 residency at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Martin’s latest star turn has him portraying Gianni Versace’s boyfriend Antonio D’Amico in producer Ryan Murphy’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, on FX this January.
Martin’s greatest joy lies in the happy home life he has built with husband Jwan Yosef, a Syrian-born Swedish artist, and their nine-year-old twins, Matteo and Valentino.
Superstar singer Ricky Martin – who plays Antonio D’Amico on The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story – and his partner Jwan Yosef take Architectural Digest inside their LA home. Yosef’s artwork adorns most walls.
The couple shows AD their kitchen, family room, Martin’s Grammy collection, the sound-proof screening room, the massive hallway, interior patio, master bedroom, gigantic bedroom, zen-inspiring firepit, recording studio and art studio.
Ricky Martin returned to Ellen Friday to discuss his recent trip to Puerto Rico, where the singer distributed basic necessities to those affected by Hurricane Maria.
“I don’t wanna be pessimistic, I just want to be realistic: The images don’t do justice to what really happened in Puerto Rico.
It looks like they nuked us,” Martin said. “Regardless of what people say, right now Puerto Rico is still struggling, and I don’t see light at the tunnel.”
Martin added that he was returning to the island on Sunday with a FedEx plane filled with basic necessities for those still recovering from Hurricane Maria. Martin also thanked Ellen viewers for assisting in his YouCaring relief efforts, which saw its donations increase from $200,000 to $1.8 million following his last appearance on the show.

Puerto Rico has been devastated by Hurricane Maria, and the island desperately need us. This is a humanitarian crisis affecting 3.5 million people. The power grid is destroyed, food and water are in short supply and we all need to work together now. For this reason, I created this page to collect funds and my donation of $100,000 is already in, as well as the generous donations from the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation and many others.

Ellen Degeneres and Leonardo DiCaprio have joined Martin to help raise funds on the hurricane relief campaign
For the past couple weeks, Latin superstar Ricky Martin has been putting all his effort on collecting funds to help his native country, Puerto Rico, after the catastrophic hit by Hurricane Maria.
The Caribbean island has been left without electricity, medicine, drinking water, food and diesel for generators, among other necessities.
The “Vente Pa’Ca” singer has created a hurricane relief fund to provide necessities to the victims. So far, he has raised over $1.3 million, which includes Ellen’s donation of $80,000.
“But, we need more,” said Martin, who is really concerned that there’s no diesel for generators to keep hospitals working. “People are dying,” he added.
Martin also announced that Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio has joined his movement to help raise funds for the victims.

Ricky Martin and Maluma’s “Vente Pa’Ca” has us feeling like it’s summer all over again.
After snapping a selfie together and blasting it on social media, the two hot Latin superstars host an epic beach party at the SLS Hotel in Miami Beach where they party it up Miami-style.
The clip was directed by Jessy Terrero.
The party track with a reggaeton beat was originally titled “Some Kind of Dream” in English and was written in Scandinavia by Anne Judith Stokke Wik, Ronny Vidar Svendsen, Nermin Harambasic, Justin Stein, Lars “Chief One” Pedersen and Carl Ryden.
For the Spanish-language track, Mau Y Ricky Montaner penned the lyrics.
Martin also contributed in the writing.
While the video makes its debut now, “Vente Pa’Ca” will be available on all digital platforms as of Friday, September 23.
“Perdóname” (English: “Forgive Me“) is a song recorded by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, released on January 15, 2016 as the fourth single from his Spanish-language album, A Quien Quiera Escuchar (2015).
It was written by Martin, Yotuel Romero, Beatriz Luengo and Antonio Rayo, and produced by Julio Reyes Copello.
The music video for “Perdóname” was directed by Carlos Pérez and shot in December 2015 in Miami. It premiered on Primer Impacto on February 11, 2016 and was added to Martin’s Vevo channel shortly after that.
Read Ricky Martin’s Blistering Op-Ed About Donald Trump
By Angie Romero
Latin superstar Ricky Martin has put Donald Trump on blast. But rather than sticking to 140 characters, Martin went above and beyond by writing an op-ed for Univision following the presidential candidate’s very public squabble with the network’s news anchor Jorge Ramos at a campaign press event in Iowa Aug. 25.
The following is a translation of Martin’s Spanish-language op-ed
Jorge Ramos on Trump:
‘I Have a Right as a U.S. Citizen, Immigrant & Reporter’to Ask Questions’
“The fact that an individual like Donald Trump, a candidate for the presidency of the United States for the Republican party, has the audacity to continue to gratuitously harass the Latin community makes my blood boil.
When did this character assume he could make comments that are racist, absurd, and above all incoherent and ignorant about us Latinos?
From the beginning his intention was transparent: basically tell barbarities and lies to remain relevant in the public opinion, for votes or simply to stay on the media’s radar.
Yesterday’s episode against journalist Jorge Ramos, one of the most beloved and respected Latinos in world media, has gotten to the point of enough is enough.
Jorge Ramos was doing HIS JOB as a journalist at a press conference in which he appeared freely and democratically, representing one of the most important Latin television networks in the world and with the same right to freely exercise his profession as all other journalists.
But this new character in American politics verbally attacks him and ejects him from the press conference.
This action from Trump doesn’t surprise me, what does surprise me is that as Hispanics we continue to accept the aggression and accusations of people like him who attack our dignity.
Enough is enough!
If we are united for some things we should be united for others.
We have already shown the United States who we are and we cannot allow this behavior.
We have to defeat the power that Trump pretends to have over Latinos, anchored in low rhetoric and xenophobic speech, which his campaign team is convinced works for him.
Let’s show that our Latin race is to be respected, let’s not allow a political hopeful to plant his campaign in insult and humiliation.
Let’s demand respect for those first generations of Latinos who came to the United States and opened a path for us. We have fought for every right that we have today.
Xenophobia as a political strategy is the lowest you can go in search of political power.
This is an issue that unites us and we need to battle it together, not just for us but for the evolution of humanity and those to come.”
Ricky Martin is the proud father of twins born via a surrogate, and it’s no surprise that the Puerto Rican star has some heartwarming answers for when his curious, then, 6-year-old boys ask him about their birth.
During a radio interview with Luisa Fernanda on the “Enrique Santos Show” on Univision MIX 98.3, Martin spoke about his new single “Adiós” and opened up about the most “difficult question” his kids have ever asked.
Matteo and Valentino came into the singer’s life via gestational surrogacy in August 2008, at the time Martin took a hiatus from his career to raise the boys. When asked about the “most difficult” question they have ever asked him, the star revealed one of his sons had inquired about his origins.
“‘Dad, was I in your belly?’ and I told him, ‘you were in my heart and you are still in my heart’,” Martin told Fernanda.
“So I explained further, because I couldn’t just leave it at that:
‘There was a woman that I adore with all my heart that helped me bring you into this world.
She lent me her belly so that you could come and when you were born she put you in my arms.’
And he said ‘ah, ok’ and he kept playing,” the singer added.
Ricky Martin Joins Anti-Trump Effort, Nixes Charity Golf Tourney from Trump’s Golf Club in Puerto Rico
Ricky Martin is not only a world-class singer and performer, but he’s also a philanthropist, a supporter of marriage equality and gay rights. When he heard Donald’s hurtful comments about Mexican immigrants, he couldn’t allow himself to be professionally associated with someone who preaches such ignorance and negativity to the world.
Martin has pulled the annual Ricky Martin Foundation charity golf event at the Trump International Golf Club Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, according to a press release.
The Puerto Rican Grammy and Latin Grammy winner is joining the anti-Donald Trump movement along with Macy’s, Univision, NBC Universal and Televisa as well as fellow entertainers RoselynSanchez and J Balvin in cutting off business affiliations and/or ties to Trump.
Martin’s tweet was sparked by Univision taking the initiative to drop the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants after the Republican candidate’s derogatory campaign speech.
“When Mexico sends its people they’re not sending the best,” Trump said. “They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems.
They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime.
They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.”

Le han costado la pérdida de muchos apoyos a Donald Trump.
Shakira, Ricky Martin y Eva Longoria entre otros artistas han utilizado sus redes sociales para denunciar los comentarios xenófobos del millonario.
